It works but some manual imput is needed to get started. If the app is unable to find your bridge, you must manually enter it. Click "add custom bridge" when prompted. Locate your bridge's IP in the Philips Hue app (Settings->Hue bridges->click on your bridge) and then enter this info into the app. Everything should then work!
Don't uninstall because there is no way to restore purchases. Also, there's no option to continuously autoplay, so if you want to use this for outdoor displays, don't bother.
Its not working this year. It won't even find my bridge. I had to upgrade to the bridge 2 and I can't connect
Won't move beyond locating bridge SSDP. This and the other Christmas one won't go beyond that point. Disappointing
It works good but what's the sense if you can't set timers for your lights?
Can't find hue hub and don't give you the option to manually enter the ip of it.
Not worth it unfortunately. Limited functionality without additional payment.
Couldn't find my bridge after multiple attempts whereas other apps were immediat and easy setup
App stops working after android 8 on galaxy s8 goes to sleep.
Can't find bridge. Waste of money. I would give zero stars.
Not functional. Sticks at "locating bridges ssdp", whatever that means.
Doesn't work with 2nd generation bridge
Won't connect to my bridge. Waste of money. Unimpressed.
Worked good for the first day now will not connect to my bridge
Couldn't install the app
Doesn't work with new bridge
Songs do not play and the effects no longer have sound. Fix or give me a refund
I like the app and the Christmas feelings it gives. It would be nice if you could update the app so it become possible to turn the lights on with different effects but possible to skip the sound/songs. That way I can have the visual effects and at the same time watch YouTube videos on my phone.
Not worth it. About 1-2 interesting effects and moods are short as well. Was looking for continous light loops I could set and let it run. Not clear on pricing of upgrades until you go to purchase, not clear on what you actually get (no preview). Better Christmas options or just make your own.
It's cool when you have the app open. But not useful. You can't close the app or it all stops. You can't schedule animations to come on at specific times. You can't play it with music from other players. You literally can only use it while the app is open. It's more of a show off gimmicky app if you want to show friends your light show. Otherwise not useful at all. Lastly, they charge for every single add on $2.99. so you want thunder storm, or kids music etc.. it's all extra. Only to find out that you can't leave it running anyway so you wasted your money. If you guys make it so it can run without my phone app open and run on a schedule this would be an amazing app. Until then... Mostly worthless.
Same people that made the Halloween app that's great, don't know why they wouldn't follow the same formula just for Christmas. Why aren't the colors Christmas themed? Why don't the songs continually play thru? You should be able to add the sound effects to a song or mood that continues to play. Should we just be sitting the entire season with the app open on our phone repeatedly pressing buttons. Not well thought out. For the company that made a really simple usable Halloween app I thought this would be a homerun, more like a foul out. Should have read the reviews.
After such a heat delivery with their Halloween App, this guy feels like tacked on aftermath or an attempt at a quick cash grab. The songs and audio is all midi music, everything is flashy and feels of lower quality. If you like anything traditional about your Christmas, then this app will disappoint. There are some semi interesting color loops near the end. The best thing about this app honestly are the firework effects for New year's at the end. But I pull those out for 4th of July more than New Year's!!!
Greed is what this company seeks. This app only has lighting effects with music. If you think that you get a choice of different Christmas lights, yes you do, but you have to pay more. This is only some of the what it offers for Christmas lights, the rest is for more money.
I can't understand how to hook this up to a sound system to play the sounds. There are no clear instructions
This app is great! I was skeptical about paying for the app and then paying for fx packs, but I've got to say the app works great and I paid less than $5 to get it to do exactly what I wanted it to do.
My four kids and I love it. These other reviewers might not have many lights or tested it in the dark. I have seven (generation 3) hue lights and it is a fun light show indeed. Yes I also bought the extra package for $1.99 Your app device needs to be on the same network as your hue hub. Plus I chromcast the audio on the same network for stereo sound. I'm considering more lights now for a Christmas party. Thanks
Not bad at all, would be nice if there were no in app purchase. All around nice app.
Ok, but not as good as the Halloween lights app. This app, as well as the Halloween app, couldn't find the Hue hub at first but after a few tries it eventually found the hub and connected. We use the Halloween app often because our grandkids love it.
