Hue Halloween

Lighting and sound effects were a big hit in 2020 thanks to this app! Used the same white hue bulbs we use every day, put them in our shuttered front windows and a bluetooth speaker outside. Didn't purchase additional content because it already had what we needed. Great that it worked on my Chromebook (Chrome OS) so I didn't have to leave my phone within range. The ability to reorder and repeat effects in a custom playlist would be even more awesome. Best addition to our haunt this year.

I'm pretty disappointed at not being able to have my lights completely dark between lightning bursts. It really needs a setting for the resting/default light level. I emailed the devs about this and no answer. I'll change it to 5 stars if they reply and add this feature. Right now it's useless in my dark outdoor graveyard... too much light between lightning. Otherwise I think it's good.

im using app on a galaxy 8+. lights stop the effects once phone leaves bluetooth range for some reason. if I walk into house the outside lights freeze. even more irritating is no apparent way to mute effects volume. sound constantly plays making phone calls or any other media impossible with Halloween app playing in the background. if i stay outside the house where the lights are installed the app works fine but once I leave the vicinity the lights freeze

Love the app when I'm testing it out at home. Still working in getting the right combinations or lights but that's not an app issue. A timer setting or being able to turn a scene on when away from the hub would make this a 4 to 5 star for me at this point. Will update once I start halloween setup.

Great app after seeing the video on this I purchased it and also the extra content . I only have white bulbs at the moment and very impressed can't wait to add colour ones to make it even more impressive. Really looking forward to Halloween this year. The new sensor support works great too keep up the great work guys thanks 👍 more than happy to be a beta tester if needed ...would like a timer to be added how long the effects are to play once activated

Like the idea but didn't work for me. Used whatever lights it wanted regardless of my selections, and lights froze every single time, and stayed frozen on whatever color/brightness it landed on even long after I closed the app. This happened both using an old tablet and a newer Galaxy s10.

I have had this app for years now and didn't use it lasr year, just opened it up as we were decorating, wow... .what happened? It used to amazing with footsteps running up nd down stairs, doors slamming and all the lights following it all. Seems dull and repetitive now. Maybe i am doing something wrong?

It's good for the function of syncing the creepy sounds with the lights but lacks functionality and is hard to determine what the buttons symbols represent. Better apps out there.

We use the Halloween app often because our grandkids love it. But today it couldn't locate the hub but it eventually found it after a few tries and connected.

Seems to have ruined the bulbs I used the app with. Since I installed the app the 3 bulbs I connected to it will no longer turn off or change. They respond only to the app. I have tried everything, including deleting the bulbs and room. Nothing. I am stumped.

Nice app but would be better if custom sounds could be used and if isolated speaker selection could be configured within the app.

Good concept, but needs to be a pc/windows app. I want to use my phone for other things on Halloween. I'd rather this be in my laptop or server.

I need to restart a phone Samsung s7 before running the app. other visa will not connect to the bridge. I can't connect from outside of my house wifi.

Absolutely fantastic! We used this for Halloween this year with our Philips Hue lights and a Bluetooth speaker. The children all loved it!

No updates, no support. In app purchases ok but that's all you get and by looks of it all you will ever get. Lot of polish work still needed

Please add a timer function and the ability to a scheduled on and off times

Brilliant effects, play though a sound bar to fill the rooms, scared myelself

I can't believe there's still no flame/fire/candle. The most obvious thing to include as a long playing mood! And must be able to set a resting scene (resumes when sound is off)... like bright or off or all dark purple in between effects. Controlling all bulbs or rooms works great from other apps. Not sure why they don't do that in this app to address user complaints.

Great app for the money! Don't _love_ the app to be honest but given all the money already spent on Hue it makes this $2 app seem like a good deal compared to $15 for one lousy flickering light at the local Halloween store. Wish it had more options like just having light effects without sound, looping for hours while I hand out Halloween candy or have a Halloween party (can it already do this? Please let me know dev thanks!)

The app is brilliant but there's a few things that Rob it of five stars. The "autoplay" feature is a great addition, it cycles round the scare effects while allowing creepy background music to play BUT you cannot adjust the frequency of the scares and because they fire so frequently it can't really scare anyone. UPDATE: the developers added this option and even a way to trigger with motion sensors for a genuine scare. Bumped to five stars, a brilliant app :)

This is an excellent app. Unfortunately during the hour and a half I ran it on auto play during Halloween the effects did randomly stop and my phone locked up until I restarted it 3 times, so looses a star for that. Could benefit from an option to just use some lights for moods and specific ones for effects (thinking entrance way) but if you have the bulbs already you won't get better Halloween decorations for the money than this.

Five Stars all the way. I used this tonight for Halloween with about 20 hue lights and it was absolutely awesome!! The sound affects over a Sound Bar were the best and with some hues set on a colour, others flashing and kept on repeat, this App is worth EVERY penny. Absolutely loved it! The Developer has done an amazing job. Can't praise it highly enough!
