On Android 10.x, App response to screen taps tends to be sluggish. When done reading an article, the back arrow tends to not register screen taps, and when it does, it takes a long time to bring up the previous page. This app needs to go back to the devs to fix the perf issues
It seemed all the bugs were fixed until a few days ago. Keeps freezing on certain stories and I have to close out the app just to read a different story. Wanna read the comments, forget about it. Just stays frozen. I've actually had to shut my phone down a few times just to get out. Plz fix.
App keeps freezing, unresponsive. Due to aggressive advertising. Should be a subscription to eliminate the issue
Like the content, but app is really, really slow, locks up. I end up reading maybe 20% of what I'd like to. Almost always have to practically restart my phone to get it to respond. Have deleted & reinstalled several times. No improvement. I give up.
What happened? The comment section is now non existent, the circle just spins and spins waiting for it to load. I had to switch to the browser version. Even when it does work, there is a tremendous lag when you enter comments.
Love the content, but app constantly freezes. Waste of time. Deleting.
1st app i open when waking up in the morning. Check it usually about 4x during day and just before turning out light to go to sleep. Fantastic source for domestic and international news.
Gives me a heads up on the breaking news. Does include the link to back up information Provides a variety of content.
While HuffPost no longer force closes on the attempt to read any and all features - and for that can I get an Amen? - a new functionality that makes zero sense & is as damaging as it is annoying is giving thumbs up to comments loads the entire list of people who did what you just did. There's no way out of this. When you touch the screen, you go back to the article. When you reverse arrow, you go back to the article. HuffPost, we don't care who also liked or disliked a comment. Please adjust.
I have been able to find my local other news for the Day. But, I'm really Not, Nor care so many Shopping ads... Not interested in any in Shopping experience. Sorry, but less Shopping Please
I love HuffPost! Clear, well researched articles are always interesting and timely. I'm a daily reader.
App is broken. It says "unable to update" or "couldn't update page" when app is opened or even reloaded. News articles do not open: "couldn't update page". This happens everyday for almost a month. Frustrating and worthless for a news delivery system. *Comments are broken Section page does not load. Just a blank white page with no explanation. Sad.
For the last 2 weeks this app has been increasingly freezing up more and more. All the other apps on my phone do not do this. It seems to freeze up even more around the time that it adds an alert when there is a major news story breaking. Speaking of, most of the breaking news stories are usually very uncon sequential and overrated. App has become useless. I've used it for the last five years, but I am getting rid of it. We'll have to get our news elsewhere.
Huff Post is a wonderful source of news. The app used to be fine. Recenly, it has become a problem on my Galaxy Note 4. It freezes up, then closes and I have open it again and scroll down to find the article I had been reading, hoping that it won't freeze again. I've uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it. It still freezes and turns off.
Since the recent Android system update, Huff Post has been acting strangely. It starts when asked to "OK" privacy details before seeing some reports. The "OK" button is almost covered by an advert and difficult to access. This brings up a choice of using the app or a browser to see the news article. If i choose the app, the article page is blank. If you then go "Home" the app will not close or go into the background. I have uninstalled and re-installed several times, but it keeps happening.
Something's busted with the app with a recent update as the text from articles no longer formats correctly as words are missing from the ends of sentences and the only way to see them is to change the orientation of your phone to rotate the view. At first I thought it was related to the standard vertical/portrait orientation, but even when viewing horizontally/landscape, words will still get cut off.
I'm a fan of Huffington Post. I've been a reader for years. The app on my iPhone 6S Plus worked great. I had to switch back to an Android six months ago. Every time I try to read an article, the app just goes black and shuts down. I can't even get through 1 article without it shutting down. Not the content, but the app simply does not function on my Android Samsung. I have to use Chrome or another browser to access the website directly because the app is useless and frustrating.
I love the coverage, & how each article looks - EASY to read. Plus, the photos are great. And, I appreciate the personal, human-interest stories related to racial bias, mental health, or the issue in the day's headlines. Thank you for the layout, ease in finding a headline, & follow-up on continuing stories, with differing viewpoints, new slants, not merely a repeat of the same facts. HP IS MY GO-TO SOURCE!
One section continues to say, "Something went wrong" and does not show any article. I have cleared cache and deleted data and restarted. Nevertheless, the same section continues to have the same problem. I then unistalled the app and wiped the cache partition before re-installing the app. No use. The same section continues to have the same problem and says, "Something went wrong." Thank you for your response. I have already sent 3 emails. 4/6/19 Working now. Thus, 5 Stars.
Enjoyable! Informative and current.
Huffpost has been my main source of news for several years. It provides up-to-date news, analysis and opinion from outstanding journalists. I start every day reading Huffpost and am lost without it. Unfortunately, the app has stopped working. It closes within seconds of opening it. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times to no avail. I'm hoping there's a fix in the works because mornings just aren't the same without my Huffpost read.
In the previous version, I was able to read articles offline by downloading them via settings. the recent update does not allow for that to happen and I'm unable to read offline articles. While the updated design is great, the functionality of the app is greatly reduced. Uninstalled the app.
The app was much better when you could open the news and read without hearing horrible music or noise that you can't turn off!!!!
I generally really like the content--when i can read it through. However, too often, the app loads a bunch of new ads and puts me back to the beginning of the article I'm reading, and whenever I try to scroll back down, it scrolls me back up. The ads obnoxiously take up as much as ⅔ of my screen real estate. I get that you need to show me advertising. But when that advertising interferes with my reading the actual content, I become inclined to go elsewhere for my information.
