Hui Car Share

Why change the app? Why did you remove the map overview with numbers indicating how many cars are available? Now I either have to search station by station or get a wide listing of cars with a written address instead of a map point? What a terrible and tedious process. I hate it. Choose a later day and I have to scroll the time all the way from 12am, that's a terrible design

Got email about new app... reset password using the provided link. Logged in to app, date selectors don't work. Uninstalled and reinstalled app. Login fails. Reset password process now asks for phone to text reset link. No texts arrive. Email password link now expired. Horrible cannot reset password. Signup again? Will have to use new email because original one in use. C'mon Hui did anyone test this before the big relaunch?

App will not allow me to upload pictures and hence, cannot finish creating the account. The app will go to the camera screen and take a picture, however, once I click "ok" it just wipes all the other data I entered and does not include the picture just taken. Furthermore, the manner in which you enter the date of expiration/birth date is really inconvenient and unnecessary. you should not have to tap through every month of every year to enter them. Just make it able to type the dates in, PLEASE!

App is extremely buggy. When adding in your driver's license, more often than not the app will hang after adding the picture of it, making it near impossible to complete. You can't even change your password, the app crashes after you attempt to submit your new password. Save yourself the trouble and just use a standard rent-a-car service

Great service, annoying app. I get notifications for "welcome back" days after I returned the car and ended the reservation. Takes an embarrassingly long time to connect to the car to unlock it. I also get a blaring alarm on my phone saying "please turn engine off before leaving" when the engine is most definitely off. That one is pretty bad because I can't turn the alarm off until I run back to the car. The service is great and I use it often, just needs work on this app.

Really enjoyed the ability to quickly rent a car for a few hours, without paying exorbitant amounts to run a few short errands. Only one small suggestion. Any chance of getting a second Hui car located at Pearl Highlands again? There's only one car there, and it seems to be pretty impossible lately to get an available time slot. I can understand why the second car was removed during the pandemic, but if the first car is really busy, perhaps a second car could be added?

Pretty much a seamless experience. The ease and convenience is unparalleled. Someone parked in my spot over night, and the help desk was immediately engaging and assisted timely. There are occasional issues with the app that require manually restarting the app, however... That is to be expected in today's age. Highly recommend!

Love the Hui experience, I've only used it a couple times because I don't need a car that often but when I do it's more affordable than a round trip with Uber and the locations are super convenient for my area. It's a simple process and the help contacts have been easy to contact and helpful for any of my silly questions

Great idea, but buggy app. I started using Zipcar in 2005 & then Car2Go before moving here, & in comparison the Drive Hui app is frustrating to use. It often takes forever to unlock the door (I usually have to restart the app & bluetooth to get it to connect) & it sends me alerts to lock/unlock the door or turn off the engine (which is LOUD & unrelenting) when I'm far from the car, the engine is definitely off, & even after I've ended my reservation (then I have to restart my phone to stop it!)

This service does not allow you to pick and drop off at any location. You must return the car to the original location that you picked it up from. Normally I wouldn't criticize an app for "not being what I want", but in this case, it feels like both awful design and fraudulent marketing. Nowhere in the app did it communicate this fact, and it completely breaks what I was hoping to use the car for. Plus, the car itself is filthy, sticky, and smells of body odor. Next time, I'll use Turo.

Absolute garbage app. Allowed me to attempt to book a car while my license expiration date update was pending. Then said I had to wait until verification was complete and bookings were not made but still placed two $100 holds on my card. App randomly goes to blank white screen when attempting to take license pics and shuts down. Customer service line sounds like it is outsourced and has very little knowledge.

I scroll backwards over 55 years worth of months to select my birthdate, then 5 years worth of months to select the expiration date for my driver's license, take a pic of the front view, the app crashes and I have to start over. WT actual F? Who the heck makes these apps? Obviously you chose the cheapest bidder. I wonder what else is wrong with this company? I won't be finding out any time soon. Maybe when they move into this century with a new app.

Hui was a game changer during my stay on oahu, i wish i could give them more than 5 stars, especially for customer service, when i contacted them with some billing issues i was super upset! But they had it explained and me smiling in 2 minutes or less, ive never had such great customer service from a car rental conpany! If its available, id drive a hui car over any other option

I got a Toyota Camry for 6 hours, and it was really convenient! I was surprised that it was the best trim available, the XSE, which was a really nice touch to driving it. The app was easy to use, and I had no problems with it. Would use again for future trips.

Really like this app and the convenience of using Hui. All the car rentals were booked up in Waikiki, but luckily we grabbed a Hui car for the day. Only complaint with that app is that it seems to have trouble unlocking the car if you keep the app open (closing the app and reopening works every time, though!). The exterior of the cars were really nice and washed, but interiors are a little dirty. We brought along some cleaning wipes and that did the trick :)

Slimy app 🤮 Asked for all my personal details, driver's license photos, selfie etc. then when it finally got to the rental screen - NO CARS AVAILABLE! Also, "Something went wrong" with all the payment cards I've tried to add. Uninstalled, though I can't delete my personal information from their system 😠

Can't register drivers license. Did some testing. Skipped inputting all info to taking picture of the back of the ID and it just shows a white screen after selecting ok after the picture. Idk why but I think it think it is programmed to automatically submit after filling the "last" entry.

Waste of money... the app is not working well. Every time I approach the car it takes 2-5 minutes to connect and unlock it. Spent more than 100$ in internet connection in order to get it working after a 30 minutes struggling to connect... Customer service is helpful but the app itself is not working correctly. It's much cheaper and convenient to rent a car from other companies than riding with this app as the car rental will be clean and prepared for you.

This is one of the best ways to get around Oahu and explore the island without having to deal with a car rental and finding a place to park it. Only want to drive around for 2 hours? This is the app for you. The app itself is very easy to use it's amazing how quickly you can go from signing up to driving with your phone as the key!

App worked well for me! Only trouble is twice after turning off the car I couldn't get a connection, but turning my Bluetooth on and off both times fixed this issue! Very smooth pick up, nice clean new car! Would recommend

Update: 2 days later Hui has not gotten back to me. They say the app is fixed, not sure. Bottom line: IF the app works for you, it works well. BUT, don't make any plans requiring a car with the app because it is not reliable.

One of the worst apps that you can use, save yourself the Hassel and get a rental. Very rude customer service staff. The app will allow you to reserve a car but will not let you extend the reservation. So you might end up stuck somewhere. DO NOT USE THIS APP!!! GET A RENTAL!

This app is full of bugs. No matter how many times i attempt to upload the drivers license, the photos automatically get removed. And why the hell the approval process is not automated?🤦 Thanks for wasting my time.

Not enough cars available!!! So disappointing! AND in FAQ it states "Each time a reservation is made, your payment card will be authorized for either your reservation total or $100, whichever is greater. This is not a charge and will be cleared once your reservation is ended." That is BS! If you call the 808 phone # the voice msg says the $100 CHARGE will clear in a few business days!! I used car for 30 minutes! Ridiculous!

The app had restrictions to reserve certain dates and times, but the customer service representatives were amazing! They went above and beyond to assist my future bookings and made it so easy and convenient for us. It has taken a chunk of our worries away in preparation for our vacation. Thank you Hui car share team! You guys ROCK!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I tried to apply for the car share but was denied, I meet all of their criteria so I wasn't sure why I was denied. I tried contacting their email support and received no specific information regarding my denial. I then tried contacting the customer support number, after waiting on hold for 12 minutes the line just hung up on me. I called back and after another 10 minutes was hung up on again. I'm the right age, my license is valid, and I've had 1 moving violation in my entire driving career.

Great experience except that the help team had no idea how to bypass the zip code requirement when using a Canadian credit card. I Googled to find the answer...use the 3 digits without the letters of your pistal code followed by two zeroes. Otherwise a great experience!

What a great service! The car was brand new, clean, and really nice. Drivehui is a much better alternative to renting a car or taking other rideshare services. Since I was staying at a place that cost $40 a night to park a car this was a much better value and a lot less hassle.

This app is great. so convenient. when ever you need a car hui is there. no matter what time or those last minute situations you can count on HUI CAR SHARE. Their cars are like new runs great with no problems. I been using hui for awhile and have no problems. The staff at hui are fabulous and so customer friendly.
