This app is great but given lack of a way to access on non-Android devices leads to you having to duplicate the data into a traditional (boring) calendar. If Hurry was able to expose all your events in an ics calendar feed, that could then be added alongside your boring old calendar and your two diverging sources of truth become one stable one. Keep doing amazing work!
Very thoughtfully designed app - the author should be proud of not just how good it looks, but how well it flows together! A lot of countdown apps beat you over the head with ads, or make the app nearly non-functional without a purchase; not this one. It works very well out of the box, but the add-ons might actually be worth spending a few bucks on. Overall well done!
Good app, hence the 4 stars but it could be 5 with a few changes. First, I'm not a fan of the "powered by giphy" logo on the main screen...as it detracts from the overall clean look. Secondly, when you add a new event whilst in dark mode you're oddly greeted with a bright white screen...it would be great if this could be dark instead. Finally, I'd like an option within settings to switch off the seconds counter...I don't think seconds are necessary, and the animation for it is over the top.
Loving this app. Have tried multiple countdown apps on the new phone and this is easily my top 2. It would have scored 5* except for one point. When countdown in its small size, it states my preferred method of counting (months) on the right hand side. When expanded it only gives me days. I would like to see the month/week/day/etc combo that most other countdown apps offer. Other then that, its perfect. 👍
I absolutely love the app! The interface is very smooth, and I love the options for the widgets. I also really like how it shows the countdowns down to the second and how customizable everything is. It's kind of cathartic just putting in dates and anniversaries, plus everything looks so clean and organized. 10/10 would recommend.
After testing 17 similar apps this week, I decided to keep two and do longer testing. This was initially my 2d choice, however, after much more hands on, it's now #1. Great UI, simple, colorful, functional. Although I've read other reviews that discuss how to place a event widget on the homescreen, I haven't figured that one out yet. Would love to know.
Good, but could be improved. The main limitation is that it only allows one unit of measure in the widget for the countdown (either days, weeks, months, or years) and rounds to the nearest whole number. No combination of those units, and nothing smaller than a day. It either needs to allow decimals (ie: 25.3 days), or have the ability to have combination of hours and another unit (or any two units the user selects).
I have to say, this is the most aesthetically pleasing countdown app available on the play store right now. Too bad it's dragged down by missing key features. Like come on, the widgets don't even show minutes or seconds? You can't really tweak the background opacity either, it's either 100% opaque or complete transparent.
Sam Ruston back at it again with another beautiful application. Eveything the app promises to do is true. Great amount of custimization options for each of the reminders that you set. Would appreciate if I could choose from different sizes and choose what information is shown at a glance (think iOS 14's Widgets). Not something that is needed right away! The app is shines even more with all the features unlocked, worth the upgrade.
Really not a bad app since my other favorite countdown app isn't, I assume, compatible with this newer phone of mine. It has so much more potential such as being able to sort the events however we please. Some events I rank more important than others. Maybe I wanna see what's further out first, etc. We should be able to maybe drag it into whatever position. Expand event "type" to because it's weird putting a birth under "other", but "celebration" isn't really an option. Just some examples.
Based on first impressions I have 2 comments - 1 I would like an option to countdown in weeks and days not either or. 2 I have no idea where you photo web search is drawing from but it's TERRIBLE! I'm going to Japan later this year and the suggested photos (which were actually gigs) were horribly racist and disgusting. Surely at least one city or landscape could have been suggested?
I've been looking for a good countdown app ever since Days was taken off the play store, and it looks like this is it! Hurry is easy to use, has lots of neat features like adding photo/gif backgrounds and having dates show weeks or months instead of days. Widgets are a bit barebones if you want a larger list but still work great.
Looks great, but the widgets don't show minutes which is what I need. This would be the perfect app if they allowed more customization of the widget format like changing colors, font, sizes, and information displayed. So close! But, not close enough for me. The search continues.
I was searching for a best app for days countdown with no ads. Most of the apps have really inappropriate ads. And most of their widgets are awful to look at.This is a nice app.No ads and highly customisable and different types of minimalist widgets also. Loved it.
Use this app daily and has been a life saver trying to remember all the online subscriptions. I have dropped a star because the notes section has stopped working on my mobile. When I try to write a note, the next word deletes the previous word. I tried changing to stock keyboard but it still happens. Edit: promoted to 5* thanks to the developer fixing the notes. Thank you.
Beautifully designed and was working great until i deleted a countdown in the app and the widget did not refresh and remove event. I double checked to make sure the app wasn't being dozed. Needs a translucent manual refresh button in the corner of widget. Will return to this otherwise great app if this is ever resolved.
PROPS to the developer, it genuinely gets me excited about counting down to my events with all of the animations and giphy intergration. it reminds me of an iphone app with how well designed and optimized it is. lots of little details like the navbar icons move when tapped and how the numbers pop when they change.
It's a clean pretty app. It actually reminds me of an iOS app, in a good way (speaking as a recent former Apple user). The only thing I would complain about is a lack of an easy way to edit the event shown in the widget, the single event ones.
Great functionality, however the gif picker is definitely subpar. It somehow manages to find all kinds of gifs except the ones that are directly related to what you search for.
Great app, does exactly what it sets out to do in a easy and fun way. Very fun having countdowns to my most anticipated game and movie releases on my home screen.
I love how beautiful the interface looks, very vibrant and simple. So far I love the app, one thing I'd suggest is that the countdown be displayable on the homescreen, that would be a delightful update. But overall, a very recommended app.
Seems like a great countdown app so far. Lots of widget options and easy to use. I just wish when you select the countdown to show "weeks" that you could choose for it to show weeks + days, like "4 weeks, 3 days". It's a bit useless for it to just say "4 weeks" if it's almost 5 weeks away.
Kindly add a feature update with following options 1) Edit widget background (Colour/GIF/Transparent) 2) Allow users to choose font colours in the widget. 3) Make the stack widget fit to screen width. Other than that, this has been a wonderful app, just like all your previous apps. Huge fan! All the best Sam!
I don't know how to reply to a developer's response, so I'll just edit my review. The main problem I have is that, even though you can add events from your phone's calendar, there is not really an option to automatically sync them to the app. In order to get an event to be shown on the app, you still have to manually add them. It'd be great an option to automatically add them whenever they are created on my calendar, with some automatic preset or based on X parameters. Otherwise, this app is perfect and quite beautiful, specially for the widget which is what I was looking for specifically.
