if the early outdoor temperature is 75F and you charge the system to a “beer can cold” suction line your system is likely improperly charged. Later in the afternoon high temperatures will increase head pressure and the resulting overcharge means a lower than desired superheat and wasted energy. Not good!
Features:
Use HVAC Buddy to enter refrigerant, temperatures, and pressures. The math is done for you to display Superheat or SubcoolingTarget, Actual, and Difference. Use temperature and pressure sliders to see what happens in realtime when these values change. HVAC Buddy contains generic charts for target Superheat and Subcool as well as pressure-temperature tables for 71 Refrigerants. Temperature data for your pressure is displayed on the refrigerant row and changes can easily be viewed by moving the pressure slider. Add or recover refrigerant to get the Actual value to within the displayed target Superheat or Subcool range.

Imperial/Metric
- View units in Fahrenheit/Celsius or psi/kPa.
Airflow
- For cooling, compares a targeted difference across the coil vs. actual. Also called Delta-T or Target Evaporator Exit Temperature (TEET). Sliders change values in realtime.
System Status Report
- Use the email tab to create defaults for email addresses, subject, and System Status Report introductory text. Tap the email button and these values are incorporated into a formatted page including all the parameters recorded in HVAC Buddy. Edit the email and / or add contacts. Then on each service call it's just a couple taps to send a personalized report.
Note: To access Diagnostics, Email, and Instructions use your phones menu button.
This app does NOT have a traditional PT Chart display. However, you can view temperatures in the upper left hand corner given any vapor line pressure (Superheat tab) or Liquid leaving pressure (Subcooling tab).

The app. redesign is horrible,old version although not perfect was easy to navigate and visually make simple determinations. New app. is cumbersome and difficult to navigate and make changes for each situation.If you have the old version ,Dont change!
App is amazing but for some reason now I cannot open up the subcooling tab. It says something went wrong, can you please address this issue? Using a samsung galaxy s9 ***Update*** customer service said they would look into the issue but have not heard back from them. The app no longer opens at all. Save your money as the developer obviously made their money and no longer cares about the app
It's a good app. But....other apps do what it does, for cheaper or free. It's no longer worth the money to purchase it since I've found other better options, and if I could refund the 10 bucks I definitely would
the old app was better. the new interface is not as easy to use. you can't calculate subcool below 75 degrees. makes it kind of worthless for spring startups. used to be such a great app
Used for years and was excellent. Recently, the app crashed and email for support is not in service. I think company went under. Too bad, was an excellent app.
a great app that for some reason has become unusable. I can't get work done using an app that resets every single time my phone times out and I have to reopen the app.

worked great at first, now just shows a blank screen. using it on a galaxy s10. shame, because it wasn't free.
the old version worked great. new version is garbage. Refrigerant is stuck on 410a. Either this gets fixed or give me a refund
sub cool won't allow high side pressure to be entered. keeps throwing a decimal point after 2 digits.
Once this was an amazing, very powerful useful tool but now it's just a figment of what it used to be. App fails to open.

Crashes every time
I can't imagbe here by paidiney to make such a bad app
what happened. we app so buggy cant fo anything. trying to chang subcool liquid line pressure and it wont allowed 3 digits. then I switched to 404a and it keeps show 410a pt top left.
It's a good app in that it delivers what it promises. I can do SH and SC calculations in my head but it's nice to have an app to input and verify that I'm thinking clearly. Sometimes on a long hot busy day thinking clearly can be a problem! Like the fact that you can use a lot of different refrigerants although I mainly work with R-410a and R22. The diagnostics are good, but again, they mainly back up and verify what I already know.
I paid for this app and after it updated it told me I need to pay again then locked me out. Might be worth it if I could use it.
App no longer works. Appears to be abandoned by developer. No menu button to run app and using multitasking button does not work.
Do not see R427a refrigerant or many if the newer blends. Please update this app. This is a very usefull app.
Function button gone, galaxy note 5. No longer able to use diagnose feature, and the soft key fix doesn't work. Used to be great for my employees to learn with.
Works great, no bugs. Lots of refrigerants to choose from. Basic diagnostics. If you have low suction pressure, high subcool, and high td, it won't narrow it down, it will just give you 3 different symptoms.
Tells me the app is not purchase on this device. Hasn't been updated since 2013 so uninstalling.
Use to be a really good app. Help you diagnose problems in your refrigerant circuit. Update a while back took away the features. Not worth 10$
It only give the right figure when using the unit of psi and Fahrenheit for superheat and subcool calculation, the figure is not correct when using other unit in subcool calculation, like using Celsius and Kpa, Celsius and psi or celsius and bar. Can it be fixed
I used to love this app. But it hasn't been updated for over a year, and the website no longer works. Repeated emails go unanswered. I don't know if they've gone out of business or what.
Loaded on to my galaxy s7 edge but can't access the menu at all. Option for a refund has now gone as well. Feeling like i have just purchased half an app. Please advise.
If you like to get technical to give your customers the best charge possible this is your app. It's much better than the free Emerson app and the technical support is immediate and knowledgeable. I recommend it to any technician.
use to be good, can't access menus. only shows 410Aand unable to switch to another. And don't reply with "use the soft keys" because it doesn't work. update: look for another app, too many unneeded "features" have made ap cumbersome and slow to use. having to go to a seperate screen scroll down and find the setting is very poor design.
