The app is great but two features are desperately needed: - the ability to set a minimum transfer time. Sometimes the app expects you to get from one connection to another in an unrealistically short amount of time. - proper navigation support, to help commuters walk to the correct station /stop.
Ugly, terribly programmed, full of bugs, unusable, lacks many essential features the old app had. And instead of letting people use the superior older version they forced this trash upon us shortly after they released this cr*p, killing the old app.
Payment for tickets has become unnecessarily complicated since the last update. I used to be able to confirm my purchase with my fingerprint and be done with it. Now the app wants me to open my banking app after already confirming the payment in the hvv app and confirm my purchase there as well.
It doesn't even open lol I can operate the first 3 introductory pages but right after that is immediately crashes. Every. Time. I literally can not Opern the app. Amazing 5/5 stars An experience you should not miss Would recomend
Delays are not displayed anymore at all. The old version showed even the slightest delay and updated the time of arrival so that delayed trains were still being shown as reachable after their original departure time. Now with the new version even 30 Minutes delay and over are not shown at all and trains that have not even arrived yet are shown as not reachable anymore. Absolutely unreliable, especially since the DB is more often late than on time. Please fix this issue!
No updates on changing platforms, delays whatsoever. I never thought that DB is better at displaying live - data in their app... Please use the old app again, were it was working!
Is it intentional behavior to navigate back to the home screen of the app when purchasing a ticket for a certain trip? I thought it's a big to be fixed at first, but there has been at least one patch now and it's still in there. This behavior forces the user to re-query his iternary. I don't see how this is a design feature
Edit: New updates have added all the relevant functionality back. Arrival times are more accurate now. This update is a disaster. Flashy interface, but less information. And even the arrival times are way off.
This new version of the app is rather disappointing for two reasons. First, it is much worse then the previous version of the app in terms of usability, and second, the system of payment by credit card does not work. Hence, it is always a gamble to try to buy a ticket 5 minutes before the ride.
App delivers the Information required to travel. However, payment options for tickets are strangely limited. Hence, I cannot use it to buy any. Also, if you create a multilanguage app already, why not let the user change language? All in all using the website is easier, faster and doesn't drain battery as much, just to show lots of bling bling animations.
the app wouldn't often load when I needed to purchase. It has delays on registering the purchase. Trusting the app did cost me a fine
UPDATE: unfortunately I am not using the app any more. I am relying on Google maps. Also, LOGPAY checked my Schufa!!! Just for paying with my bank account!!! Why? The new update is terrible. You can't drop a pin on the map but you have to know exactly the address where you want to go. Actually I still cannot find the map on the app. So many good IT people in HH, why not ask them for advice before releasing this update?
The app design is good, however they sacrifice functionality for the looks. Now you can't save your routes or use the 'via' option, effectively making the app dumber. Also, the search tool is somehow worse than before, and on top of that, it doesn't account for construction work. It is a waste, since you are better off planning your journeys through other 3rd party apps, then go back to hvv app to buy your ticket. Such a pain, just put back the lost functionality.
This app does indeed provide a route planer. However, there are no significant advantages over Google Maps. It also seems to provide a way to buy tickets, the means of payment however have significant problems. Available are credit card, SEPA and PayPal. I am not in possession of a credit card, the app either refuses to accept the details for SEPA as the correct form or it fails to register the data, and it only accepts PayPal if the PayPal email address is identical to the one used in this app
Not that the old app was beautiful or fast but at least it was highly functional. The new app not so much. True, it looks more modern but still not good. Worst thing: It lost most of the best functions, from the widget showing departures at certain stops to schedules for specific lines. Both of which were my daily go-tos. Now you can search for a connection [which you could in the old app, too] and that's about it. Considering the HVV doesn't always give you the most appealing route - it has trouble getting me to Teufelsbrück via the bus line 115, which appears not to exist for them - the new app is close to useless.
Wow, they did. A completely new app and it is even worse than the previous one which was already 0 stars. They just fire everyone who had anything to with developing this. You cannot login (it says wrong password although it is definitely correct, I just reset it). After multiple attempts you finally can. Same for fingerprint confirm. And buying a ticket does not work at all. I'm actually riding without a ticket right now because of that. Have they heard of bug testing, unit test and so on?
Th often it will not show the best choice of buses and shows instead changes that have 2 minutes of change time, although it's common for a bus to have 2 minutes delay. The specific bus combination that I have just used was not listed but it was given as option for 1 hour later, although there was a connection every 10 minutes. The application works more or less but is not always reliable.
I am a bit disappointed by the recent redesign. Two of my mainly used features are gone: a 'via' station & saving routes so I can view them later/ see where the train is currently With the redesign I can only buy tickets after selecting a route, but I dont need to buy one, I just wanna save that route. Also I just noticed I can no longer see where the train I am riding is nor the delay (if any) it has. I think the best part is the option for wheelchair users which just turns up the contrast LOL
The recent update was a case of design edging out function. For a sleeker interface, I lost recent trips, realtime updates on my train or bus, and the ability to buy a ticket for a specific journey. I would much rather go back to the old graphics, because I used all these features regularly.
Terrible experience using the new app. Difficult to find connections, plenty of bugs... I couldn't even buy a ticket: when typing in the credit card expiration date, the numbers will disappear immediately. Then I managed to buy it via PayPal, but the app suddenly closed and it doesn't show the ticket (the money however was taken from my account).
convenient app for planning trips on Hamburg Transport system. Like that it v announces any disruptions due to road works and demonstrations.
Good app for basic info, but network maps are limited (ex. no map with complete metrobus stops) and no price is shown for some trips (ex. via regional trains). I know you can download the other maps from the website, but only the pdf versions are available and it would be nice if all these can be viewed through the app instead or an image version is downloadable from the website.
This app is hot garbage. The old app worked just fine. This app's ticketing -- the main reason for getting it in the first place, at a time where we are told to avoid contact -- does not work. Can't delete obsolete credit cards. Can't add a new one, just an unhelpful "an error occurred". This is totally unacceptable.
I logged out mistakenly and now I can't log in or reset my password like how? I'm supposed to travel, i paid for a ticket and now I can't use it. You guys really need to work on your it team.

I keep having problems with the app while the old one was working fine. The search takes 1min to give any result. The payment takes even longer and doesn't go through. Happens once that I bought 2 tickets because the 1st one appeared in the app after 3min... and no success or error message. You need to wait to know what happened. It also doesn't save your preferences. So everyone I need to find for the starting point and switch again the type of ticket I want...
