It's functional. Stock isn't necessarily tied to the home store very well, so you can end up picking items that aren't stocked at that particular store. I'd be a lot happier if the chosen store filtered down to a more realistic stocks situation, but I understand that's really hard to do. Substitutions are also a gamble that I get something that isn't fit for purpose at all, so those stay off. What makes me extra frustrated with the software is that they push ads in the form of notifications, so that gets turned off first. Also, I get SMS messages trying to sell extra product at me on the same channel I would normally get for "your order is ready for pickup, etc", which is infuriating. I already pay for delivery. Allow me to not have to deal with upsell requests in return for a bump in fees.
This new and improved app is a turd. I want to be able to use the app in the store to find items, and it takes too many taps to do so effeciently. Also, having to choose pick up or delivery when I just want to look up items is clunky. Changing stores is also not smooth. The app should know which store I am at when I walk in the door. Overall this is not an intuitive app, nor is it easy to use. UPDATE 4/4 - Still a turd. Not useful in the store at all that I can find, and not at all intuitive.
App has inconvenient unintuitive design. A few reasons: Trying to order from in store market/deli - hard to find place in app to make order, one clicked immediately taken to web browser (outside app), no order history for items order (so they would be easily ordered again). What seems like a simple issue to fix has been this way for as long as we have used the Hy-Vee app. Items in shopping list can not be clicked on for see details at times. To find details on shopping list item need to search.
Enraging. My home store is set in my profile, apparently they don't do pickup or delivery from there. That's fine I prefer to shop in store anyway, and am just looking for the current ad. The app cannot understand this. Everything I try to open wants me to select a location for pickup or delivery and links me to the website that has major issues loading.
I thought my phones are the problem and have browsing issues. But I got a new reliable phone and browsing the ad in the app is such a pain, very slow, you can't use the expand option and a lot of times it doesn't open. Now that the ad is digital, I hope you fix it.
I didn't have some of the issues described by the other reviewers. The app doesn't load. This is a recent development. I forced the app to stop and cleared cache and data to no avail. I'm also having difficulties finding the H+ rewards free items - maybe this intentional. The web app is a lot easier to use.
Stupid app! So my debit card was expiring. Got my new one and tried to edit what I had on the app. All I had to change was the expiration date and the security code. Can't change that on this stupid app so I reentered it with the new info and it didn't work. Bank problem or HyVee problem, I don't know, but definitely annoying. I had to use a credit card to get my groceries. Update, I just used my new debit card to pay a bill online. Not my bank's problem. It's the stupid HyVee app.
Very frustrating to move smoothly between multiple ads and ability to add to cart. Sale items appear even when items are not available. This is especially problematic when fuel saver items are unavailable and substitutions do not get rewards.
Hy-Vee has ongoing food shortages, so I switched to Walmart since they charge 10% less than Hy-Vee and have 99% of our grocery items in stock. Many Hy-Vee substitutions are out of stock which makes this app useless. You can't trust getting an email from Hy-Vee prior to picking up your grocery order. I only received an email showing their substitutions 50% of the time prior to my arrival. Hy-Vee is too disorganized to trust with my grocery orders and has no respect for their customers.
I down loaded the app so that I could see the ads. When I loom at the ads, I can see the 1st 4 pages, and then I get a loading screen and then nothing. If you are goung digital w/ your ads, then your app must work. Unfortunately your app is trash.
Too slow to load to be useful at the gas pump or checkout. Had to burn all of my fuelsaver points today at the gas station because the damn app didn't finish opening until after I got home. I'm ordering another card and losing the app. I would encourage anyone having problems with this app to do the same.
I find it incredibly difficult to find and make a list and you go through the ad and put the gas rewards items on your list and then they are not showing up on my receipt. Not everyone orders, picks up,or has them delivered. It makes the list part hard to manuver.
This app is more frustrating than useful. Navigation is difficult. All options are not listed, specifically in the hot food section which took forever to find. If you want something to eat immediately, such as pizza/Italian, Chinese, or American (I have no idea what HyVee actually refers to it as) it will be much quicker to drive to the store and look at the options and prices. I've spent 20 minutes on this app and have still not found what I'm looking for. I am now out of room to finish review.
Very difficult to maneuver around the app. They show ad flyers that don't open up and send emails with coupons that are expired. I will try to search for something by brand name or exact descriptions and it can't find the item. When they send an email and you want to add a coupon it makes you log in and takes you away from the coupon you want to load thus you have ti hunt for it. Frustrating!
It insists on sending spam advertising to my cell phone. Well, I did find a notification preference to turn those off. We'll see if that works, or if it needs to be redone after every update.
Talk about a malfunctioning app at all times. I open the app and get an error telling me to download and open the app. It doesn't search well at all. I sign in start trying to look for deals, then I'm told to sign in again, but I never logged or timed out. Does this app even know what its trying to do in any form? Hyvee get your money back from the designer this app sucks!!!!!!
I can do everything except confirm a grocery pickup order. It keeps telling me there's a problem with my billing information. I've checked and re-checked. It's all correct, so that's clearly not the problem.
I cannot ever login the app from my tablet anymore. I keep getting a network error. But when I try to re-login, I don't get an opportunity to manually enter my information. It just keeps trying to login with the first attempt user ID & password. Then I get the network error. I've uninstalled the app & installed since there was no new updates. I can only use the app on my phone. I'd rather use my tablet as it's larger to read.
Coming from kroger to hyvee, this is a big step down. This does searching and ad viewing very well, but i miss basic things like sorting lists by aisles so im not constantly stopping in the store and scrolling up/down the list to make sure im not missing anything. Managing the lists themselves are a hassle. You cant delete multiple items at once, removing items (by swiping left) works 3 out of 5 times, and it always makes the phone vibrate on every delete. Other then that, works just fine
I bought some pork chops that were on sale and they were old. They were a reduced sale and had to be used that day. I've also had problems with produce. But it is so to convenient for me, and their staff are so nice I will continue to use them.
It's a little bit difficult to get this app to work right , I just wanted to order food to pick up curbside. I'm not healthy to go in the store so I wanted to shop and pick up my groceries.
No matter what credit card I use it says there was an error with payment. I want to pick up groceries, not shop in store.
Horrible app. Old app was much better for creating lists and flow through the store, also syncing with my wife's phone list when I do the shopping.
Wow Hy-Vee, you should really consider new app developers or go over what your expectations are. I came on here to see if anyone else was complaining on how long it takes the ads to load and was amazed at all the negative feedback on the app. If you won't be producing paper ads which I prefer then at least give me an online ad that is easy to manage.
It's really convenient when it isn't give you the "oops! Something went wrong message," which it does more often than not. Currently can't go to my cart, because it's just giving me that message.
Eh. Hyvee is extremely expensive in comparison to Aldi, Wal Mart. I like the food delivery, but they are ALWAYS out of multiple items. It's annoying - you place your order and you start getting texts.... We are out of this, do you want this other thing? On and on, over and over.
There is nothing quick about this app. When you tap on check on a status of RX orders you get a picture of a basket icon loading. That's it. Nothing happens. Why don't you try letting the app actually give you results? Then release it. That would be a great application! Yes. That would be great.
P.U. this app sucks. Won't locate my store via zip code. Can't view coupons, lists, etc.... bring back the old app! Just reinstalled and the app still stinks. Difficult to move around in, won't accept my email address (the same one I use via my laptop) to Login, very poorly designed!
Forced me to upgrade to another bad version. Hangs constantly during searches. Click on "Buy Again" and it hangs for a while then shows blank screen. Too slow when it's not hanging. Not usable. Very frustrating.
Still very bad. The search functionality is rudimentary at best, as is the ability to sort any list of items. The UI/UX needs a lot of improvement. The standards for providing descriptions, sizes (volume / weight / quantity), and other metadata about items is not consistent throughout. There's obviously no realtime or near realtime availability data being used, so it's difficult to ascertain whether an item is in stock or not. 1/10. Hy-Vee should really invest more in better app development.
