Hybrid Assistant

The user interface is really hard to understand. You tap the screen and it taps figures, tap it again, it shows icons of what look like brake pads and a car battery. The ambient temperature shows -22* C, but I'm at the Equator, with temperatures of around 26*C.

Great app and has been really useful getting used to driving my first hybrid car. Only one issue so far - I utilse mpg for fuel consumption (UK) and whilst the High Precision Fuel Chart correctly shows the instantaneous value at maximum mpg (=low consumption) when lifting off the throttle, as it should, it colours the instantaneous bars in red suggesting worst BSFC when it should be shown in cyan or white.

Handy app to see the status of your cars hybrid system. The ball to help you maximise your efficiency has to be taken with a pinch of salt as it can't see the road ahead & sometimes its better to coast than to try and save and reuse the energy.

This app is amazing for extending the life of your Prius battery by kicking on the fan when it gets too hot. Only cons are the mpg measurement is inaccurate for my car, and the setting sometimes change on their own. Other than that the app is amazing.

Great insight into the cars operation. Im using the app almost on all longer trips. Driving at Halloween is special too. Today I noticed that my screen (amoled) is burned in though. The km/h and the circle around the hybrid indicator can be seen on bright screens. Maybe it would be possible to randomize the position of static displays from time to time. Update: i activated the amoled filter now. Lets see how the progress is.

This is an amazing app for the real time dashboard and comprehensive reports it provides. Although not all the features work for me, its still a wonderful effort the developers have put in. The amount of information is overwhelming at times but for enthusiasts more is better. It is really interesting to see the power flows in real time from the MGs, battery, and engine. I've been driving hybrids for 15 years and am very familiar with the concepts of the Toyota/Lexus system, but using this app for a few trips taught me some new things about the power flows. 10 stars. But that being said, my slight disappointments include that the braking regen feature doesn't work for me, and the HyBall feature, even after reading the documentation, I find bonkers. Most of the time it just sits at the very bottom, but occasionally jumps around wildly. I have never been able to center the ball on any occasion longer than 50ms. Other than that, if I could pick any other improvement, it would be nice to customize the dashboard display to highlight my preferences. Even just rotating my phone I like and dislike elements from how each display is shown. Regardless, really great stuff.

Great app. Frequent improvements that are relevant (contrary to most apps). The main drawback is that it doesn't support cheap clonic OBD. But I think I will soon compensate the cost of my new OBD (50 $) in gas savings. It is great to get a better understanding of the car and optimize its use. It works in conjunction with the reporter which is impressive. BTW, it is fully free. No adds or premium features.

I love this app alot! The only 2 downsides is 1. The app usually freezes (galaxy s20+) and i have to force close to restart to get it going and number 2. The app seems to cut out my bluetooth music connected to the car....sometimes its fine but some times its like every 2 or 3 seconds and its really noticable and bad. With those 2 fixes this would be perfect.

Very good app. Lets you get the most out of your hybrid, and even find out why it might not be operating at full efficiency.

I think the screenshot function for the drive summary is broken. It has been so for at least a year.

When it stays connected it works great. I have torque pro, and this seems to give you more info and you can control you HV fan

The app keeps disconnecting and reconnecting to my wifi odb2! it seems theres a really low timeout or something similar... Maybe my wifi odb2 is not fast enough to respond to the data pulling rate. It does seems like something trivial like timeout/pulling rate. My wifi odb2 is a veepeak VP01. Also, there's a big grey dialog popping up with my battery voltage value really big, and a small text bellow that I can't read because it closes automatically in less than second!!

2016 Prius Three, OBDLink LX bluetooth, Samsung Note 4. Immediate developer response after app would only stay open 3 seconds. After several emails, issue was resolved. Only app I could find showing regenerative braking. Only shows brakes "charging" with extremely light pedal. Similar results with videos online for each "break touch". Very helpful communication with developer for free app.

Just discovering how great your work is..I appreciate it. My comments are to assist in development. Thanks for the reporter integration. I note that my CHR shows as a Corolla, no problem but fuel consumption doesn't work at all... As the website suggests I need a better obd2 adapter..Received the obdlink lx.. Dramatically improved, all features available except CH-R not identified in current build .. Thank you for your work ..

I really thank the developers for developing a great app and making it available for free. There are reviewers who say the developers aren't interested in helping with technical issues but my experience has been the opposite. Of course, the developers don't like having to support no name brand OBD2 adaptors or people who don't read the instructions. But once I showed them I have used the recommended OBD2 adaptor (OBDLink) and read and followed their instructions, the developers were happy for help me get it working on my car (1st Gen Camry Hybrid)

it is very good! Please add a "force landscape not inverted" mode! it will help a lot because I have a dash cam app that initializes hybrid assistant as soon as the car turns on. and the cellphone is on the support laid. I always need to go to android system to make it landscape. thanks!

Update from 1 star to 5 stars. Tech support responded very quickly with a fix after I sent them the logs and now the MX+ stays connected. .... When using your app with the OBDLink mx+ the app connects to my car for a second and then disconnects. My car is a 2021 Prius Prime. Is there a compatibility issue with your app and my car?

Great app. Inatalled on android head unit. Only issue is pairing when multiple paired devices are in range of head unit, but its more a problem with these head units. The UI is a bit cartoonish, but that can be fixed.

Don't forget to quit the app throughout the circle bar standby icon. Just closing it by swiping it off screen leaves it on in the background and it really *eats up battery.* Also, if I change the units to be displayed, it changes right back.

Connects get a purple toolbar " obd Initialization" an thats where this stays where in the older version update prius is supported ( where did this go ). Also when you exit this App this remains running in the background (( invastion of privacy )) Dirty App! After all when you exit this Dirty Hybrid Assistant this asks are you certain you want to exit i clicked " Yes " so can all you Dirty Enterprises and Corperate bodies and associates stop being a perv!

Does not work after the last update. It connects to the adapter and then shows the 12V battery voltage then there is nothing happening. It used to work awesome and was very useful
