This app, along with their actual website, is complete garbage! Whenever I try login in it just buffers endlessly and I can't access my account. The same goes with the website. It doesn't work more often than not. It all makes paying my bills on time very difficult because it sometimes takes me several days in a row of trying just to access my account.
Used to work but doesn't now. I reported a power outage over 40 minutes ago and it's still not showing on the app. It's supposedly updated every 10 minutes. Someone dropped the ball here. I got a text saying there's an outage in my area (that I reported) but the map shows all green. I went online to hydroone.ca and it shows the outage. Useless!
I'd give this app a zero if it were possible. You're basically accessing their (almost always) dysfunctional website through a dedicated "browser". This app is an absolutely pathetic product from a multibillion dollar company. How could they expect this app to work when their site is always running into issues? I've tried from several well-spec'd Win, iOS, and Android devices. My bandwidth speeds are currently 500+ and 20+ Mbps down and up respectively.
Extremely slow; hangs at login with the word loading for over 3 minutes. When trying to view a past bills, it hangs again and then it doesn't download or display anything. The layout of this app is poor. I recommend the developer logs in to their own financial institutions app to get an idea of a seemless experience and user friendly layout.
Trying to get map on outages. I guess it must be an outage if you can't get the map. Also said updated every 10 minutes. I guess it's in the outage to. As easy it is to use the app. What can't be, it's in the outage.
2021 Update NOTHING HAS CHANGED! 11 minutes of waiting and nothing. This app is sluggish. It's frequently just down. You open app, hit account and nothing just nothing appears. I cannot recover an actual copy of my bill even. I only get a flowchart of sorts with my payments listed. I cannot get news or outages information.
TERRIBLE! does not log in at all, i came to try the app after the same issue with the webbrowser.. very dissapointed. Ive seen many reviews to be the same and yet nothing is done about this issue. Your paying customers are not able to access basic information they are due. Fix it !
This app is garbage, it never works, can't even log in, it just goes blank then back to the log in screen, you would think they could hire someone that would be able to fix or run the app better,
Completely useless. Simply takes you to the website. It might as well be a bookmark. Any auto fill used just resets the page. If you leave the "app" it resets. It loads slower than going to the website directly. I now understand why Hydro in ontario is so expensive. They waste money on stuff like this.
This app is a pos! It just takes you to their webpage, which is also a steaming pile, but you actually get less features in app such as auto populate from your browser. Also make sure not to lock your phone or stop midway through entering your payment options as this will reset all the fields and you'll have to retype everything! Oh and not to mention they include a BS "paymentus" fee if you choose to pay online with a cc. Don't they have enough money to make their own payment processor? FK u h1
Power out now for over 9 hours, app cover notice states updated every 10 minutes,....hogwash....the app stiil states under investigation, re assessing. No possibke re store time, even though it may change, at least update this stinking no good app! Call the supplied land line, and of course....all busy cannot take your call.
Your app is terrible. It barely works 30% of the time and the other 70% it just shows a blank "my account " page. Would love to know how to fix this, but typical government run business, no response at all.
Everytime I try to report an outage there is a problem with the service. What is the point of this app it it doesn't work. It tells to call a number that no one answers and tell you to go online to their site. How will that work with your computer without power? Your modem won't work
Using this app pains me, it doesn't work half the time and the other half it takes so long I am better off to go start up my relic of a laptop and use it, because their mobile website is no better than the app. I have no clue why they can't make it easier to use a mobile device to access Hydro One.
If i could give it a 0, I would. Absolute trash. Reporting refuses to work no matter how you try it. Outage map works but you may as well use the site. Dont waste the space on this.
I've always had great luck with this app except for disappearing from my phone recently (probably a phone upgrade). Just reinstalled and it worked perfectly for today's power outage.
Crew status is always under investigation, and the cause is almost always pending classification. I wish this app provided honest information.
Used to work fine, now just sits there with a blank screen on the "outage" map, never updates. "News" selection also just sits there, nothing happens. Kind of useless now...
Works fine, though might take a while for the map to update. Does what it says, it's not meant to be for paying your account, it's for checking outages.
Don't bother installing , waste of your own time. The app and website are pathetic , they endlessly buffer and then error out ALL THE TIME. I've successfully used this app once and it's pissed me off every other time. I pay my bills and then get emails weeks later saying the payment is due. Absolute joke lmao ...
Poor adaptation of browser code,. Infact identical to using browser but slower. Additionally, both online and the app do not allow for usauage and costing for tiered pricing
App is slow and inconsistent. Energy Usage unavailable every time. Both the app and the website have become worthless.
installed the app to get notifications about power outages. Couldn't do that without setting up an account through their website with your billing account info.
Ridiculous app. Doesn't load your account at all. The app just opens a dedicated browser to your account, might as well have not made the app in the first place. For a company that makes so much dirty money they have an embarrassing lack of competence
Junk app, never works properly always a spinning wheel, Your website it just as bad. Always loading. How suppose to pay on time if neither works properly.
I agree with the other reviews about the poor app experience. Think back to the early 2000 webpage experience and that's what this app is like. The login on the app does not work... Keeps on trying without going anywhere. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the outage reporting and mapping on the app (which does not require you to log into the app) is effective when needed.
