Awesome, in theory, but, not really playable. It never saves -- most of the time you switch apps or put your phone to sleep, progress is lost. Not sure if it's crashing or what.
Not really suited for mobile devices. I'm really fascinated by the geometry exhibited by the game, but I only had the game installed for ten minutes, and I spent nine minutes trying to switch off the music.
This game is a masterpiece. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but it manages to incorporate advanced mathematical concepts in a way that makes for an entertaining and incredibly deep gameplay. Not to mention the fun classic games references...
If I can tab out to answer a text and tab back in without pausing before I'll give you 5 stars. But the game is completely solid. If you've picked up a fantasy or sci fi book in the last 50 years you'll enjoy this game. Turn-based chess like gameplay
Amazing game. But as a mobile game, it needs progress saving. One can't be expected to play hours on end, but hop in and out.
what a great game! the basic mechanics are super simple on the surface but all of the different worlds bring enough variation to bring some deep gameplay
I've been playing this game for years now, the dev always comes up with something new, and free of charge. In todays gaming industry climate this guy is a hero. I've only bought the game on steam and here to show my support. Thank you!
It's fun, but difficult to work with the editor on phone. Also, the character needs clothes.
The game in it current state is unplayably broken. Menus don't work, the game interface doesn't work, nothing. Refunding.
Unique. Surprisingly simple. A great game that somehow taught me a lot about hyperbolic geometry.
You really need to fix it for certain devices please, it won't open on my android.
A really creative game which uses in many creative way a non-euclidian geometry.
Really cool idea - but please make the app better...
is roguelike you can collect orbs what else do you want
This game is literally unlike any other. It looks at first like a turn-based Roguelike where your character has one hit point. But the hypergeometry changes everything, requiring different strategies and different ways to think about geometry. It will accustom your brain to non-Euclidean geomtries.
I have a suggestion for new geometries. Basically, a half-quotient space. Starting with a square and then assign going right with a 1-to-1 numerical operation, same with going down. Going backwards corresponds to the same thing in both directions.
developer fixed restart button issue. thanks
Fantastic game, and an amazingly responsive dev.
Edit: the developers response addresses my problems. I've been playing this for years and lowered my rating because it seems like the UI is getting worse. I dislike the large white title bar on the screen, it obviously wastes a lot lf space. I also dislike clicking INFO means you cannot click MOVE because the new control circle is in the way. The only way to return to MOVE is to enter the MENU or rotate my screen. My rating will return to a 5 when these issues are addressed.
This game is sheer genius. Simple rules masterfully tuned for great challenges. Never repeating. The more you play and learn, the more it has to offer.
Quite simply the finest puzzle game I've played since Tetris.
A mind-bender. Once you finally get the geometry of the world, you find yourself needing to learn how to survive in each of the diverse lands. Fantastic turn-based fun.
Very nice idea and concept!
This game is fun to unlock all the lands!
Couldn't ask for a more unique roguelike. And the developer is very professional, making sure to keep the game updated.
The game is brilliant - the mind warping geometry and the turn based nature make it a totally unique experience to play. Not completed yet, but gotten close several times and visited almost all of the lands. But, there is a problem with the game crashing - this usually happens when I lose, but on rare occasions it has happened when no enemies have been nearby. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm on a OnePlus 5 A5000, running version 9.08 of Android, and the latest version of Hyperrogue Gold.
