This app use to be great now in 2022 they are horrible customer support is worthless. They take your money and don't care about renter. If you need a car make sure your flexible on pick up date because owners accept rentals regardless of they are available or not. God forbid if you're 3 minutes late returning. But a owner can screw you out of making a living Hyrecar forgets it takes people needing the service to stay in business. A simple closed Sunday for pickups could solve so much. Sm

This app is so buggy. I can't even open it 95% of the time. Brutal. It would be annoying but not a big issue of you could just do everything on their website as an alternative, but you can't. To access your documents you need to download, you have to go to the app. To add a new payment method, you have to do it in the app. The website is almost useless except for requesting new vehicles and if the app won't open its completely useless.

Makes you go thru hoops, asks for all kinds of personal information and all kinds of monkey poses to camera collecting biometric data, only to deny you by saying unexpected error. (Whatever that means). You cannot contact support, and when you do, they tell you to reinstall the app. Only to repeat it all over again. Total waste of time, just get your credit card and go to rent a regular car, save yourself time and frustration.

Horrible! They refused to close my account unless I gave them a POLICE RESORT REPORT for stolen identity after telling them I wanted to deactivate my account due to my password getting hacked & someone keeps booking cars & then canceling them. Website & app both move slow! They also won't let me delete my card info or change my password until a police report. HOW STUPID HYRECAR

Please fix where I can open the app and add pictures for background check. Contacted support by sending an email and still no resolution. The update January 5th did not fix background check issues as stated on the Google Play Store. It's still an issue. Hopefully your technical department can fix this. No one has fixed the issue in months. I think certain ethnicities are being blocked from using this app!

App hasn't opened in ages. I've used the browser to book and ended up with cancelations by the owners last minute. Cars have been 20 miles away from the posted location. You can't rebook immediately bc funds don't transfer or process. Support doesn't care about the hassles or lost time and wages. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

This has got to be the worst app to rent a car. My rental got a stolen last night, have done everything from reporting to police and getting a report done with Hyrecar, to giving customer updates and calling the non emergency line for HPD every few hours.. NO ONE CARES FOR SOME REASON THAT THE OWNER IS OUT OF A CAR AND IM ABOUT TO BE HOMELESS BECAUSE I CANT GET TO WORK OR RENT ANOTHER VEHICLE UNTIL ITS RECOVERED!!

This product is way overpriced. $450 monthly, $15 daily just for insurance alone. When you combine it with car rental and transaction plus tax fees, it end ups oxymoron deal. Rideshare and food delivery companies don't pay well. However the HyreCar in their advertising use one new driver statement(which includes high sign up bonus). The average driver statements is nowhere close to that.

The app is glitching terribly I can't open it, but I wanted to leave a comment to say that they need to allow for the people to update the information on their own & inform the people when a change needs to be made, it makes it an unnecessarily long process to update information having to call support when something needs changing. While waiting four days for my background check to clear the app has stopped working and it brings me right back to my home screen like most of the other people complaining. So basically I've paid $29 for a background to use an app that won't work. I want a refund Hyrecar or fix the problem so the app can actually be used!!!

The app itself used to work however, since last update it will not even open. On top of that they rent unsafe vehicles which I actually was stopped by a car police officers, 2 times given repair warnings so, why as the driver am I the one they are charging a fee to? I did walk through uploading dirty photos. I called hyre after 1st police stop and was told to contact owner .. then another police stop and owner would not close rental because of something. They don't care about driver safety.

BE careful after purchasing a rental, you have to arrange pickup time with the owner. It wasn't the owner who I spoke with but he claimed to be a colleage, he said I needed to pay an additional $25 deposit and give him a copy of my LICENSE and BANK CARD before getting the keys. This is after I had purchased the car through the app. If the owner is going to request additional fees they should be upfront and write it in the description box not tell us after. I cancelled and got refunded.

I've been using this for a few years. Pre-pandemic the in-app chat support was nearly instant. It is non-existent now, always giving a message that they are busy and call the phone number. For over the past year the website login portal for drivers became defunct and multiple bugs in the app went unfixed. Currently I'm reinstalling the app to see if it fixes the annoying problem with starting it. I tap the Hyrecar icon multiple times with it refusing to launch...

This app is quite a game changer, it's signup process had me worried at first but it turned out great. I gripe about the transaction fee like everyone else but they need to make money somehow right? However a couple of ways they operate need to be fixed and the random bugs are counter-productive. That count down needs to go as it can unfairly overcharge you, needs restarting often to fix itself, communicating with owners is barely possible and recently it won't open for 2 days now. Needs work.

After getting a server error while trying to upload my background check, support actually told me that this is a common issue on Android device and to try it on an iphone. If I'm ever able to actually rent a car I'll update my review. The application simply does not work.

Terrible experience. Could not effectively sign up because I had to keep changing/resetting my password. Totally unnecessary that they give the option to sign up using your Google account, but won't give the option of using a password, therefore you cannot sign in the app. Would not allow me to put my address in as it kept changing my address every time I typed it in and clicked on it. Totally terrible experience. Spent almost 3 hours trying to sign up and couldn't. Complete waste of time!

App appears to be simple and straightforward but it took me 6 hours to take a simple pic of my driver's license and then another 4 for a selfie. I tried different lighting, WiFi, different phones and either the app wasn't able to "verify image quality" and I mean wasn't were able to or the app just crashed and would reopen only to crash again. I finally realized I was able to apply online from pre-existing pix on my phone. So, after nearly half the day spent on it, I finally was able to apply.

This is one of the worst customer service based aps that I have tried to use. They advertise themselves as easier and cheaper, but they are neither easier to access nor cheaper. In the end this app is not worth the space in my PC. They did however gather a lot of my personal information which bothers me to say the least. And they did contact t me by phone, a live person, but in the end I had to have more documentation than a normal rental company.

There are bugs in wich leave the screen to be unresponsive at times. However, features are great. There are other applications in wich this company would be competing with. You will need to find somthing that may stick out conpared to other apps. There is not a lot of rental car commercials for example. I would love to see this company reach its success in the next quarter. Recommend a strong investment for advertisement. Email me and reply to this review so I can tell you more. Thank you! 😁

This is a good idea with good execution and will be better as more people catch on. The CSR, Michael, was helpful and professional. At the time of writing, though, the selection of cars is quite limited, and has nothing available that fit the requirements of Lyft Black/UberBlack, nor LyftLux (there was one vehicle that qualified for UberSelect). My one technical gripe was in searching for cars further away than 100 miles: automatically zooming in on the location made it difficult to search.

Filters that keep resetting, inaccurate car names and photos, locations that reset when you refresh the page, sorting doesn't work, and the map zooms to max view when selecting a car... Quite frankly, this is impressively bad app design and UX. I'd be amazed if whoever coded this app still has a job...

Currently in a vehicle rented from hyre. Let's just say. it's not worth using. Not For the driver and not for the owner of the car. From my personal experience as a first time customer. I'll never use this app again unless I absolutely have too.

Now that I officially have a job; I no longer have to deal with renting cars for work through this app. A.) I literally have to click on the app about 50 times before it actually works. B.) I've been hung up on by CSR on a numerous of occasions when I just wanted a refund. C.) I've rented cars on this app that has smelled like urine, bed bug infested, check engine lights on. D.) Car owners false advertising cars. Picking up a vehicle that looks nothing as it does on the app.

THESE GUYS ASK YOU TO PAY 30 DOLLARS FOR A BACK GROUND CHECK, THEN YOU PASS IT, ONLY TO FIND OUT IT WAS FOR NO REASON, THEY CONTINUE DOING A BACKGROUND CHECK TO YOU MEET THERE UNREASONABLE STANDARDS. THEY MAKE NO EXCEPTS FOR NEW RESIDENTS. THEY WILL ALSO AS FOR A 200 DOLLAR DEPOSIT. THIS AINT NO HERTZ OR AVIS, GREEDY BASTARDS. TRULY A CALIFORNIA COMPANY, THEN ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM AND DELETE THE APP. WORST APP EVER DONT DOWNLOAD
