I Am Monster: Idle Destruction

Awesome presentation, awesome monster designs/animations. There's so much personality in them and the gameplay design is mostly solid. The execution...not so much. This game is VERY buggy. Monsters will disappear from your UI during boss fights, parts of the ui will get stuck on your screen, the monster will stop moving and just walk in place. It's really hard to run the game for more than 10-15 minutes without having to restart because of a game-breaking bug. Which is extra unfortunate because the only way to progress in this game is leaving it open. Unlike other idle games, you need to have this game actually open A LOT if you want to progress. It would be really nice if you could move through the zones with the game closed instead of just gathering energy. You also can't transfer or backup your data. Which is...pretty unforgivable in this day and age. I haven't found ANY other games that don't have an option of creating an account or cloud backup for your progress.

Okay. I had to reinstall the game after playing for a week straight. I just noticed something... The draws from the portal (loot box system) are SET UP. They're predetermined!!! There's literally no point in having a portal if it's not random. Also there's no idle mode. You do not make progress while out of the game. So, it's not really an idle game.

Good app but few problems. I do not get the option to watch adverts anymore meaning I miss out on a lot of free goodies and every so often after opening the app the game freezes and I don't get to collect the energy that has been accumulated. Very frustrating. Other than that the game is pretty fun and the destruction is nice. Keep the updates coming. Will rerate if things are fixed.

So, this company is asking for 9.99$ a month for "research" (as the game put it.) Now here's why I won't pay that much. The graphics are not bad but they aren't great either, they could use some polishing. The transitioning beween boss battles>city>summoning lags the game up a lot. A personal issue, when upgrading, the sounds are muted and I spend a lot of time on that screen. As a free game, it's awesome! As for a paid, not a chance. I wouldn't mind buying little things, here and there though.

The game has no substance to it. There is no objective and no end game. You do not control the characters they walk around aimlessly destroying whatever. There is very little you can do as far as playing a game is concerned. You can upgrade the character attributes, watch ads or open boxes for free stuff to help you upgrade, and summon more items to help upgrade or new characters through a portal. This game is extremely repetitive and boring. The character design style is good though.

No gameplay. The graphics are awesome but the "game" is a passive experience, which becomes very repetitive after just a few minutes. You collect energy and buy power ups and that's all. No control. You are never threatened by the enemies and if you were there would be no way out. Probably fun to watch for a minute... because it's indeed something you watch more than you play it.

The game is great and has an amazing cartoon graphics. I'm very sad that the advertisements don't even work when you want to gain extra income or receive the bonuses that come. Whenever I try to watch an ad, it just goes to a black screen and just freezes on it. I have to close the game then reopen it to continue playing. If this problem was resolved, then it would be a much better game.

I really want to love I Am Monster, and the game's copious amount of flaws don't quite get to the point where I want to quit playing...but they do make the game frustrating at times. Firstly and most importantly, this is a *gorgeous* game, full of vibrance and character. Pik Pok did an amazing job with their visuals and character designs and it's a delight to watch...when it's running well. Since it looks pretty, it's obviously not going to run well on older devices. I can hardly blame Pik Pok for this, but I absolutely will blame them for the frequent bugs that range from harmless to game-breaking, and for the fact that now that I *have* a new phone that can run it better...I can't actually transfer my save data. That's right, there is no way to backup your save data, so you're always one disaster away from losing hours of your life and whatever money you've sunk into the game. This is, honestly, the most galling thing about the game, and they said they're going to fix it by adding some sort of save game transfer option. But they get no credit from me until they actually do it, and even then it's something that really should have been there from the start.

After 3 months and getting to level 39 and one monster to star level 3 I'm tapping out. Not because it was bad, but I really feel like I experienced everything the game as to offer. It took 3 months of playing everyday to get one character to level 3. But there's not much you get with each level up. It opens up the next skill tree level but doesn't add anything visually to the powers. I enjoyed my time with the game and think others would too. Anything beyond level 3 is just too grindy.

Amazing game, I love it! However, I am currently only rating 4 stars because sometimes when the auto battle for the bosses is turned on, sometimes the game loads into the boss battle, and the freezes and I cant do anything. So I have to leave the app and close it, but when I do this, about the next 2 or 3 times when I try to open the game, it crashes instantly. And then it is fine again until it happens again. So developers, if you're reading this, I would love for you to fix it, then 5 stars :)

Gameplay is ok. Graphics are good. I keep getting my characters stuck. Example: if I redeem my boss reward the icon stays in the top right, if I select it again my character stops moving and the game freezes. Another example. The pig monster teleports and misses a few enemies in between teleportation. The pig tries to go back to get those that it misses and gets stuck in the building's. This makes it hard to earn "idle" xp as my earning come to a halt when this happens.

I love the team's work and there's fun to be had here but my progress keeps getting locked. I got to District 7 and died, which is fine but upon respawning I had lost all my upgrades and had no energy to rebuy them. Even stranger, all the menus I had unlocked through tutorials were gone, so I couldn't even rebuy my upgrades. I was level 1 and too weak to continue. It's buggy right now, real buggy.

I really hate games nowadays that push for a subscription, and this game is one of them. I can't do certain missions and thus it takes longer for to get through certain parts of the game. The cache thing is also pretty broken, a few times, I've spent crystals yo get a certain item(s) some times I'm rewarded, sometimes not. Very irritating

Update; The issue with the loss of squad upgrades can indeed be resolved by quiting the game and restarting but it still is very annoying. However, if you purchase any upgrades prior to quitting the game then your stuck with the newly purchased upgrades. Boss battles are still scaled to high. Even a health increase of 10,000%, multiplied by 2 or 3 times doesn't make a difference in some of the later battles. Please increase Infamy level and higher level stages need to drop more than common DNA.

The game is fun, and simple, can be played one handed if needed. I am not a big fan of apps that offer a recurring ~$10 payment (some monthly, some even weekly) for special content or extra rewards. I think it takes a lot of gall to consider that to be anywhere close to a reasonable price for what is offered. Not to mention that there is continual incentive to support the app thru watching ads or completing trial offers. I know that developers have bills to pay and mouths to feed; but come on.

Idle Destruction are the key words. If you're someone that likes to spend stretches of time watching your monsters break things and get more powerful like I am, at it's going to feel a bit empty. In-game currency for progress is pushed too hard, necessitating both a monthly subscription and regular microtransactions if you want to make much progress, and the limits of what there is to do (though entertaining) can make it feel like a WIP. Graphics and monsters are well-designed and charming

Really fun idle concept with good execution. A little lacking in content but updates will probably add more. I do think getting a single of the first DNA for beating a boss monster is a bit too low. If it gave maybe 3 or so of the bottom tier that wouldn't be as bad because then it makes good progress to combining them. One just seems to be next to nothing. Its possible this changes later on but I haven't encountered it yet.

Game is ok, just like most idle games, but what really annoys me are constant connection problems. It happens all the time, especially right after you watched an ad to get a free prize, the connection error pops up forcing you to restart the game, other times it just force shuts, so you loose some of your progress. I'll add more stars once you have fixed these error problems

Game is average, the only thing keeping this game back is the sheer amount of hindering bugs, such as: the portal randomly not working when summoning, soft locking the game and not giving you the items when you come back (but still takes your gems), monsters straight up not moving towards bosses, and Apocalypse mode.. just not working. Every time I click Apocalypse and select yes, it freezes up and I have to restart, but it never goes into Apocalypse mode. This game is unoptimized as hell. Sad.

Game is designed to try and con you out of money, the idle money will build up to a certain amount and if you then id spend any of it on upgrades the amount will massively decrease (I had 1.2 million in the bank, bought 1 upgrade for 34k and then I suddenly had 360k in the bank). This wasnt a one off experience, happened every time, also you cant do all the daily's if you haven't paid for a subscription and the rewards are terrible if you spent money, luckily I never did, app deleted.

honestly, i love the game, it's really fun, and a good time waster, and it'd get a 5 from me if it weren't for the fact that my data has been completely wiped, not once, but twice. I'd love to actually play the game, but with it being wiped every time i shut my phone off, i can make nearly no progress. please fix, or get back to me with a way for me to fix it. again, thanks for the fun game, when it works at least.

Been having fun with the time put in before the rate me showed up. But there's boxes that you can collect to watch adds for big rewards to upgrade faster I do like that. I hope this app is successful because I'm eager to see more monsters than the ones currently in the game. I was hoping for something like a skill tech tree with different branches for different ways to play. But I guess I haven't gotten for enough.

Completely pay to win. if you don't subscribe to their ridiculously priced $9.99/month subscription you can't even do enough dailys to get the bonus. Skip this one unless you have deep pockets! I will say the gameplay is very fun, it's just stupid to be forced to spend such a large amount of money for a feature that comes standard in every other game in it's category.

Great game and original concept of a genre that doesn't get many good games... Would give 5-star rating, but ads never work for me, whether I'm connected to WiFi or 4glte; just gives a blank screen that never goes away. I have to force close to get back to playing the game.
