I'm On It: Focus Timer for ADHD & ASD

A timer app, with regular reminders to stay on task.

The "I'm On It!" timer app for Android is designed specifically for people who struggle to stay focused on the task at hand. These may be children or adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD, or ADD) as well as people working through the unique challenges of High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD (Asperger's Syndrome), and, of course, anyone who struggles to stay focused.

Research-based features

Designed from the ground up to help you or your child with ASD or ADHD learn to stay focused.

Features include:

* A countdown timer, that can be set for any length of time up to 60 minutes (1 hour) so you can divide large tasks into shorter chunks.

* An audible reminder or silent vibration that can be set to go off at regular intervals to keep you on task.

* "Are you staying focused?" Keep track of your progress and work towards a higher score.

* Motivation after each reminder. "Keep going! You can do it!" (text fades quickly to remove distraction)

* Adjustable reminder intervals in the form of "Levels." Once you have mastered level 1, move on to level two. Reminders can be set to anywhere from every 30 seconds to 30 minutes.

* Three visual cues represent the remaining time:
-- A moving clock hand that rotates towards 0.
-- A horizontal progress bar that moves towards the end.
-- A large, easy to read digital display.

* Highly customizable appearance: turn elements on or off to suit your needs. Choose the visualization that works best for you without the distraction of extra features on the screen.

A brief note on advertising:
*There are NO ADS on the timer screen. (i.e. no distractions while the timer is counting or being set. Unless you want to change your reminder interval or display options, you will never see an ad.)
*On the "settings" screen, there is a small banner ad that can be hidden for a full two weeks by watching a video ad. These ads are selected by google for child-appropriate content.
*This is a free app. All content and features are available at no charge.
*The app does not collect or transmit any information about the user. (Your default settings for the app are stored on your phone.)

This app is an absolute nightmare for anyone with ADHD! I set it to 7 minutes and it kept buzzing during that time, which completely pulled me off the work task I was trying to concentrate on! I'll just use my phone timer in future. It didn't feel like there was a lot of understanding about the condition with this app - sure I want to be reminded not to get distracted, but I don't want to be distracted by the app either!

I definitely like the idea of this app. But when it takes less than ten continuous minutes of a countdown for the reminders to lose sync with the clock, it doesn't fit my needs well. Is the visual clock ticking faster than the invisible clock governing the reminders? Is either governed by actual time (I got so distracted I forgot to check)? If you set the reminders to ring every minute and start with an even timer, it should ring on the minute, not at 56 seconds into the next minute.

The app doesn't allow to exit, it just switches from the timer interface to settings section. If the screen gets turned off, alarms don't go off until you turn it on. Given that I work to decrease my phone time, I don't want to be randomly checking the phone for the timer that doesn't work.

Love this. The reminders and ability to set frequency is exactly what I need. Plus, always love a dark mode! I wish there was a setting to keep the screen always on when using the app, but for now I just change the settings on my phone because I want to be able to see the timer while I work.

Seemed perfect, but doesn't work for me. Most of the time, the timer just stops running as soon as the phone's display turns off, for some reason. Edit: Seems to work perfectly now. I'm not sure how much I need it anymore but it's great for anyone with trouble managing their time.

It's usefull app to get focus but the alarm stops blinking somewhere in the middle without further notice ,that's irritating.... Other wise a very usefull app,Kudos

I love this idea and how helpful it can be, but what I appreciate most is the developer who is honest, takes feedback well, is improving himself and his application and doing it all at no cost to users. One feature I think you should add is an option to pay for the app if we like it. I've seen other free apps that have a "pay what you want here" link. Whether it's for fun money or pays for classes I like supporting people who create things like this that don't collect data and are ad free.

What a fantastic tool to help keep me focused. Works with headphones too! Would like for it to vibrate my smartwatch, that would be a big help, maybe in a future update? all in all, great idea, great app.

Great idea and really appreciate developer's effort but there are a few bugs. Double tones, vibration doesn't turn off, custom sounds repeat continuously instead of playing just once, etc.

This app is really good! However , I have some requests. If possible , could you please add a statistics function? And also a method to measure how many times you get distracted. Another really helpful feature would be an app whitelist.

It works really well for reminding me to stay on task and the sound grabs my attention but I need to feel a vibration I can't really have the bell going off in class. If that can be fixed I'll give it the fifth star.

Simple timer app that reminds you to stay focused at intervals. It is helpful. But it could use an always keep screen on function.

At last, a clear timer that I can set and use. No distractions that would divert me from focusing on one thing at a time.

ESSENTIAL for those with ADHD. The visualizer is reliable and useful; I use almost daily now.

Anything to help heal a traumatized ADHD mind is helpful. Man, your heart is in the right direction! β€οΈπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™‚ BTW, and I'm sure you know by now that most of ADHD, is not a brain illness, it is the results of trauma, when it occurs in early childhood where it has profound effects on the developing brain. A kinder Nation leads to a kinder world. ❀️

Very useful, you have to raise the level so it does not ring on intervals that are too short.

It doesn't alarm when it is supposed to which is quite irritating otherwise I think it would be the perfect app for me

Dan. H. Oct 16, 2018

I don't get it. The intervals don't seem to work exactly. It dings at random times. How is it supposed to remind me to stay on task?

Eri. M. May 28, 2022

Works well and reminds me to stay focused.

Cor. B. Sep 25, 2018

This kept me focus for 20-30 minutes straight. And I love how every minute it keps reminding me to focus.

Col. C. Nov 13, 2021

The best thing are the reminders to get back to work But mine keeps saying error can't play sound and so it only vibrates

Mik. B. Mar 18, 2020

Haven't used it much yet. Mainly because of the obnoxious colors. Dark mode? Please?

SL6. S. Apr 21, 2020

Awful. It's a simple timer and too stressful for most people with ASDs.

Eke. E. Mar 19, 2021

I really liked the double tones. Why did you take it off? I also liked that it was long and continuous.

Some harmless bugs and a degree of unpolishedness I can relate with. Otherwise Nice.
