iBlueButton is ideally suited towards those consumers covered by Medicare or their family care givers, Americans covered by TRICARE, Veterans and individuals whose healthcare providers are using the services of California Direct or San Diego HealthConnect to securely send medical records to their patients mobile devices running the iBlueButton app.
The iBlueButton® app is an award winning app (Fierce 2013 Healthcare Innovation Award; U.S Department of Health and Human Services: 2012 Blue Button Mash Up Challenge winner) designed by a team of physicians and programmers committed to providing consumers secure and convenient access to their personal health information – and the personal health information of their loved ones – so that they can directly share this information with their doctors wherever they are seen.

• Create and maintain full personal-health Profiles for you and your loved ones.
• Automatic BlueButton record download and access from leading Blue Button enabled patient portals, including My HealtheVet for Veterans; MyMedicare for Medicare beneficiaries, TRICARE Online for active-duty military, as well as RelayHealth.
• The award-winning MyMedicare dashboard with the ability to filter between 6, 12 and 36 month views. The MyMedicare dashboard displays the unwieldy, coded and text-based MyMedicare Blue Button record into a beautiful and intuitive user interface, organizing your Medicare record into pleasing tables for medications, conditions and other information.
• Automatic access of your medical records from your healthcare provider electronic medical record (EMR) systems using 2014 certified EMRs with the use of a secure e-mail type of transmission called the Direct protocol. iBlueButton automatically generates Direct addresses for each Profile so that you can receive your health record directly from your doctor on your own device. This exact feature of sending records from providers to iBlueButton Direct addresses is currently in production with San Diego Health Connect and California Direct.
• Automatic creation of a Summary Record. The iBlueButton app automatically creates a “Summary Record” from all records received in your app (e.g. EMR records, VA, TRICARE, or Medicare Blue Button records).
• Easy lookup for health information at MedlinePlus for medical conditions, medications, immunizations listed in the Summary Record.
• Easy annotation of your Summary Record or your family member record with self-entered information about allergies, over-the-counter or other medications, or additional medical conditions with easy-to-select lists.
• Mark data-specific Summary Record data as private, as well as possible erroneous diagnosis or medication information seen in your records.
• Share health records with your doctor. Easily and securely “Push” your records directly to your doctor’s iPad at the time of you are being seen. At the same time, receive back on your iPhone health records transferred by your doctor.
• Access other apps and transferring files including images: Scan paper records using the built-in camera function, or import photos into the app from your camera roll.
• Unique privacy feature: The iBlueButton app does not store any of your sensitive personal health record information on a Humetrix or third party server to be shared with other entities. All your information is securely stored, encrypted on your personal mobile device which only you can access.

Had initial issues but support worked tirelessly until app was able to work. Allows easy download of va data. Allows to graph out your lab results over time. Easy access to your information sorted by categories. Exactly what I was looking for.
Doesn't work most times. For one medical provider, it keeps prompting me to upgrade for 4.99 even though I already paid. Company said they were aware of the issue and fixed it and advised me to update the app yet i was already updated n using the version they called out in their email response. Sorry but can't recommend this app for any use.
I would recommend it but it just keeps circling me back to the DS log-on after tapping on VA's button for my records. I was able to access it once after downloading the app. I was checking out my current appointments, meds, vaccinations & diagnoses from provider visits. However, I had to start all over after I tried getting more info for the latest appointment tha I got. Clicked on it & the cycle of the DS log-on started. Frustrating.
Terrible app! The UI is cluttered and isn't intuitive. I was hoping to use iBlueButton to link my VA medical records, but it's not any better than the VA's My HealtheVet website. Don't waste your time with this app.
I love the app. But it's difficult to get around. I am very computer and gadget savy. But this took some doing. But if this was fixed, I would give it 5 stars. I just gave up my iphone. So I missed having my health records on my phone.
It's remarkable the level of medical information this app is giving me. I had hip surgery last year and through that one issue there are literally tons of info items related to the surgery and hospital stay, including the contact info of other doctors besides the hip surgeon.
Retired military here and this app does something super useful - gets both my TRICARE military health record as well as my new VA record and puts them all in one consolidated record. Awesome!
App won't even open anymore. Just says some error code and that there is a problem with the server. What is the deal!
Unable to download my VA records or synch other health providers. When I try and synch a pop-up appears that wants me to pay 4 bucks. 👎
Really useful to have my VA health record combined with my Medicare Blue Button record. I sometimes see doctors outside the VA and didn't know until this app that I could get my different medical information in one place.
Non functional garbage. Error every time I tried to download my VA records. Wanted 4.99 to download my Medicare records. Uninstalled.
Amazing, I never thought I'd be able to get my medical information organized onto my phone, but this app does it.

Helping my older brother a disabled Vet also on Medicare I like this app combining all health information. Useful and straight forward to use.
Works well for me and as advertised. I especially like the lab result graph on my Galaxy phone.
The app has not updated records since June 2021. Please fix. The app was great, but not any more. VA records.
