I like the app because it is so compact and user-friendly. A suggestion of mine, but you can add a sort of "split screen" feature where you can compare two languages when your phone is horizontal, like Latin on the left side then English on the right. I would like to recite the Liturgy of the Hours in Latin very much however I am not fluent in the language itself... something to consider.
Great app when it works. Constantly crashes with red message "back to the home screen". In addition, app will not work offline. this is an issue because often, I like to take it to prayer or adoration where internet is not availible. When the app does.work, it is wonderful and very useful. if the bugs can be worked out and if it can work offline, it would be one of the best breviary apps out there
It is in general very good. Just two issues: 1) if I try to change the default language to something other than latin, it crashes and says an error has occurred. 2) there are many occasions when the breviary says "incomplete day", and it doesn't have either the hymns, or everything that comes after the psalmody.
Great app! The Divine Office and multiple prayers (Rosary, other Offices etc) as well as the daily Mass readings, are on this app, and it is easy to use and the visual format is easy on the eyes. Multiple languages are offered. The only small problem is that it sometimes wants to re-download the prayers of the day if you are offline and had closed the app.
This is a great app for quick access to the liturgy of the hours. One problem I've encountered though is that my app stays on the same day unless I delete and redownload it i.e. It's been saying that the date is Monday, August 17th for the past 3 days. I hope this is able to be fixed so I don't have to keep redownloading it because that's a hassle.
Simple, accessable, and has a vast amount of extra prayers and blessings. It also has the propers of various Orders, which is great for those in Tertiaries. It had a problem with not changing dates, but has either been fixed by the devs, or by me auto downloading the week. A "Learn the LOTH" section to help those who struggle with learning to recite from the 4 Vol set would be awesome.
It crashes whenever I try to change the language, so since I normally pray in Latin, if I want to pray with my wife I have to reinstall. It also has some issues with texts and switching between propers. But, it's the best free breviary I can find, even if it isn't good on a technical level.
Recently the hyperlinks within the apps are not working properly. For example, in daytime prayer, when I click on the hyperlink that says "Go to Reading and Conclusion", it just brings me to the complementary psalmody. This results in a lot of unnecessary scrolling. Otherwise this app is wonderful for my prayer life.
The app is not fully functional on my phone. I recently upgraded my device to a Samsung galaxy A51. The dictation feature that I use often on my previous device is no longer working on this device. I've downloaded the app twice to fix the issue. If there is a patch that can made to restore this feature. This would make me very happy.
Hope you could also include a Help Section so that even the people who has no idea of using the Breviary can use it, resulting to more people praying the Liturgy of the Hours and studying the Liturgy. Also, please make some bug fixes whenever back button is pressed. There are some modules where you cannot go back to the previous module because back button is disabled. Thank you!
Very good option and practical. One suggestion is that you may leave all the dates open to download for in some countries like in Ethiopia are one or even two weeks behind the International calendar due too different calendar systems. May be like the updates you have for the iPhones. Otherwise, thank you do much.
This app is wonderful, great to prepare our celebrations and learn to use the missal. Must be fixed issue: It automatically resets language to english, so I need to change it all the time.
Having ask the texts for the Hours is great, especially in multiple languages. It would be even better if there was a side by side Latin - English option and if there was an option to set reminders in the app for certain hours so it would send a notification to prompt you to pray Lauds at a certain time.
It's my favourite prayer app. It contains all the hours and all necessary texts for certain periods in the liturgical year. The text scroll function gives you free hands so you don't have to hold your mobile but raise your hands in praise or fold them in prayer. A truly great app.
This app is very well but if you want use the song when you are in trip is very bad. Because you can't prayer Whit this song is very mechanic and don't have time for help your prayer. I think they can prepare something like litturgie delle Ore in Italian that is very easy to use and the song is magnificat have also the time for exam of conscious and meditation. This is my suggestion for you.
I love this app, in general. Unfortunately the latest update broke my language selection. Now whenever I open the app it always shows the readings in the phone configured language which is different than the one I have set for the readings, forcing me to have to change the language settings in the app on every login!
What happened to the offline option? I spend up to a few weeks regularly away from any Wi-Fi or cellphone network access. I used to be able to download a week or three or prayers but now the app won't even open if I'm not connected to the internet... Please fix! This is a wonderful app otherwise.
Please fix the Home screen. The notifications kept on going unread no matter how often I open them. Also, the two links below the screen are hard to reach to click. Please optimize it to any phone for a complete view. Thanks.
I'm on Android. This app used to be great, would have given 4-5 stars, but not anymore. Starting recently it always says I'm offline (when I'm not) or the app isn't working and they're trying to fix it. I would say it's non-functional 95% of the time. Too bad!
This app would have been great, really. And complete. Except that everytime I open it, all the days of the week of prayers I have downloaded disappears and what remains is just the prayers of the day, even if I did not choose the option "download the day automatically." Pls fix this, admin. Thanks.
This app was a huge disappointment. It only worked on the day I installed it. After that it would not switch dates but remained stuck on the install date. Not much good if it won't give readings for each new day!
I'm disappointed with this app. The text on the home screen is so small that it is illegible. Even when the app is set to use the Franciscan ordo, many Franciscan feasts are skipped (no Stigmata of St. Francis? Really?). Even when the feasts are present, it does not use the proper texts. The app will do in a pinch, but it is not a substitute for the printed version.
This apps was good. I used this apps for years. Lately, the apps was not working well. It malfunctiong. When it's offline, the apps became useless. Although, I already download the prayers the whole week. Yet, when I opened the apps offline, couldn't open. Nothing in there. It became totally nothing at all.
6 stars for a complete missal. Most apps skip the"Preface". Glad I found one that has every word that is read/prayed at daily mass. issue with back button in android. doesn't take me to the prev. page in sequence.
The hyperlinks within the app for Android are not working. Specifically, in daytime prayer, when I click on the hyperlink that says "Go to Reading and Conclusion", it takes me to the complementary psalmody. This results in a lot of unnecessary scrolling.
This is the best breviary app I've used. It has daily prayers, prayers for special occasions, and daily readings. The design is easy to customize, and I've never had to deal with any popups.
I have a neuro-muscular condition which has not only affected my limbs, but also my vision and even trying to read the large print Liturgy of the Hours is next to impossible more often than not. I don't very often have the luxury of Praying within a community. That being said, having the recited version at times is a bit trying because all the options are recited. Thank you for your service to those of us who are sight impaired
God bless you Paolo. Thanks for the app. I wish you all the best in the project. Personally, i didnt like the format. Night is not very dark. Letters cannot be reduced much. It was laggy on my phone. It needs internet. Cannot have multiple languages simultaneously. I will stick to using Universalis. God bless.
This App is a must for those wanting to pray the Divine Office of the Catholic Church, and who do not want to carry around the traditional large volume of prayers of the Church. It has helped me immensely to say the least as I know that simply having this App on my phone, I can be praying with the entire Universal Church wherever I go.
Excellent app! It has all the offices for the day and it'll even let you download up to a week in advanced. Not bad for a free app! The only thing i don't like is the layout for the daytime hours. It gets a little confusing. This is a great digital breviary, however, i find the Universalis app better, though Universalis costs $12.99, so there's that. Overall, 100% recommended, especially if you're a beginner in the Liturgy of the hours.
