iChess - Chess Tactics/Puzzles

It has difficult puzzles from real master games in the master section. The main problem is that many of the puzzles have alternate solutions, and I often have to go through many "good, find a better one" moves before I get the perfect move. An alternate move will also occasionally be considered wrong. For the response by the developers, I will give 5 stars, as well as because the quality of puzzles is good.

It does what it says; gives chess puzzles. I think it would greatly benefit from more classifications of puzzles, as every puzzle is "find the best move" at different levels. If I want to practice mate in one or attacking a castled king, I just have to hope I get that type of puzzle. Its acceptable if you just like chess puzzles, but I want to use this to learn.

Love this app! There are a wide variety of puzzles from easy to hard. So, I feel that my chess game has improved after just one week. I love the daily puzzle, but I do wish there was a persistent way to get to it from the app. Sometimes I accidentally swipe away the notification, and on most versions of Android once a notification is gone you can't ever get it back. Also if I clear the app from multi tasking while doing the daily puzzle, there is no way to get back to it. Great app overall!

Fantastic!! This is the app I have been looking for. The ability to load your own pgn for tactics or guessing master moves is great. Graphics and even sounds are amazing. Move on to the next tactic automatically or review the position and notation before moving on. App will start up where you left off. Upgraded to the Pro version and would have gladly paid more. Very pleased. No problems so after about three weeks of using the app daily.

This app used to be great, but now, you can't solve puzzles because the answer shows up with the new puzzle. Also, the circles that contain your stats are too small to accommodate three digits. What happened? The .developer quickly contacted me and addressed the problem. Back to being a great app!

The interface is pretty good, more piece and board themes would be nice. Also, many of the puzzles reject winning moves in favor of moves with slightly better evaluation; these puzzles should at least give the message "Good Move, but Try Again". Currently, only a few puzzles actually give this message.

A little buggy after failing on a puzzle then going back to bird's eye view, select same puzzle - sometimes shows solution, but still very awesome! Works great with "Analyze This" app to further analyze puzzle to help improve skills. Thanks!!!

Was looking forward to improving my skills with puzzles but turns out, all the pieces are letters instead. I can understand what the letters mean, but it's not very good for me to see the best moves and such.

Thank you for responding. Although one can appreciate the daily problems being from real games, they often start 5 to 10 moves before the end, are open to interpretation, and (more importantly) rely on the opponent to make a mistake.

Update: additional information, In iChess "analyze this" app copy as text showed Droidfish. While copy as FEN did not show DroidFish. Edit: PASTE WORKS SEPERATELY IN DROIDFISH. UPDATED RATING. PLEASE ENABLE PREVIOUS FEATURE. I SHALL EMAIL ISSUE IF REQUIRED. THANKS. Current update does not display DroidFish app when "Copy as FEN" selected

In solved puzzles,solution is always shown below the puzzle after the puzzle is solved. If we want to review the puzzle later we are seeing the solution below the puzzle already,so we can't calculate moves on our own as we have already seen the solution. There should be option to hide solution of all solved puzzles otherwise we can't come back and review the puzzle.

Terrific. Daily puzzles are good, a little easy but enjoyable. Like how they are from recent master matches. The installed puzzles are enjoyable too.

The best app. In addition to the collections of puzzles offered, the key thing is the option to load your own puzzles, that is great.

Its very frustrating when you play a move that is just as strong or even stronger and it gets marked wrong. Shows a complete lack of chess understanding

I also purchased iChess pro, version 5.2.13, and used it successfully. Now the app closes immediately on my Pixel and is no longer listed in the apps on this device ( ? ). However the icon and apparently the source code are still present. What's going on ?

This app is great. I love that the puzzles are based on real life positions; even some from games of top players in the world. Very useful. Highly recommended.

This app has too many incorrect best moves, like sacrificing a valuable piece to no advantage and delivering a check with a piece that can be captured with impunity. Beginners will be misled by the errors.

In iChess, I have solved the normal mode. In other words, I have done upto 350 puzzles. I have forgotted the 350th no puzzle, but when I opened it, I saw that it was - 1/350 and is not solved. So why this happened??

I purchased the Pro cersion of this app in the past. Now pro version disappeared from google play and I should still experience ads?! Is there anyway to not experience the ads again?

Had bought some additional puzzles some years ago. My logged in account doesn't show my previous purchases. I wonder what I can do about it.

There's a lot in this app, but I couldn't understand how to change from one feature to another nor see why certain moves where rated the best.

I am havin problems with the color of the pieces, they are the SAME color, other than that, i do find it a pretty good app

The colour of chess pieces is bad (white and black pieces look same) when my phone's dark mode is on. Please fix this.

Fun puzzles, but this app prevents my screen from turning off so it wastes a lot of battery.

good for tactics practice. also large number of puzzles. also from real games.hence appreciable.

I paid for the app, and extra puzzles set and now annoying ads jumps into my face when I am trying to relax and solve some puzzles

The colors between the black and white pieces are not clear. Colors are not obviously distinct from each other.

The problem is, I have already solved it but I got it wrong I have been trying to put the same answer and other alternatives and end up the answer was the same solution I tried in the first time.
