It has terrible delays in changing temperatures or schedules, and randomly resets other settings which you previously set. It seems to have some difficulties connecting with the thermostat itself and tends to get confused about which setting is correct (what was set in the app, and what is stored on the thermostat). It is basically useless as is, as anything you do can't be trusted to actually change anything. Even worse, we're now locked in to this garbage dump of home automation.
This is a very high end system with S30 thermostat and we pay top dollars for this product. However, this iComfort leaves much to desire. It is so frustrating that whenever you need, it does not connect with the thermostat while thermostat is perfectly connected to Wi-Fi. We have to keep trying with hope that it will connect and allow us to change the setting as desired. Please put some effort and fix this application.
This app progressively deteriorated. When I first installed the thermostat and downloaded the app, I was very pleased because I just replaced Honeywell thermostat and the app was horrible. My experience now is that the app is unresponsive. Any adjustment to the thermostat does not take effect. The worst part of it is that at night, when I need it most, I have to work down to physically adjust my thermostat. More work needs to be done on this app. Google Nest works better so far for me.
Unfortunately this app is awful. The temperature setting doesn't stick, I constantly have to close out of it and go back in to get the temperatures to display. It's quite awful and almost pointless to have. Considering replacing the thermostats in my home so I don't have to deal with the app anymore.
Ah, I see I'm not the only one having trouble with this app. When I open the app, it takes up to 20 seconds to load. When it loads, I get this message, "Unable To Display Current Temperature." I can't turn on or turn off the AC/ Heater. I downloaded this app after I had my entire AC system replaced about a year and a half ago. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
The app is unreliable as everyone says. When I first got it, it worked great. Then it got progressively spottier. When it would stop working, completely closing the app would usually work. Then I started having to log out and log back in. Now that doesn't even work. Use the web browser page (esp. on a computer) if you need to adjust remotely. When the app works, it's still cool, but that is increasingly rare. I came from a Google Nest which had a much better app.
I purchased two of the M30 units to have wifi/remote access. And, like most of the other reviewers, it was buggy and unable to connect right out of the box. After some playing with it, I have found that if you input your username and password In The Thermostat itself (do not reply on the pin setup) the connection to the server is much more reliable. EDIT: 3 hours later--It seems it is the thermostats that wont keep the connection to the Lennox servers. Each time one disappeared, so also did the username and pw stored in that thermostat. This is an epic FAIL because manually entering login info every few hours is such a PITA. And makes the remote function totally useless.
Buggy and unreliable. A company of this size and reputation should be able to pull off a decent app. Often get the error 'unable to display temperature' . 3/2020 update glitchier than ever and unresponsive. Big thumbs down. 4/27/22 request timeout error. More bugs, bad performance. Obviously it's not a priority for Lennox which is too bad as their furnace is great. I think monkeys designed this app and a team of sloths are doing the testing. There has been plenty of time to fix it.
It's hard to put into words how unreliable and poor this app is. Of all the apps I've ever used, this is the slowest and least reliable by a large margin. I routinely have to relaunch it about three times before it finally connects correctly (Android OS), and even then, it's very slow to update. I cannot understate how embarrassed Lennox should be to have such a product. The app alone might motivate me to change the thermostat to a different brand.
"Unable to display current temperature." No explanation about why or what I might be able to do in order to fix it. Seems to be random but occurs a lot at night time. Also the current state of the system will not be refreshed when resuming the app for 30 to 90 seconds with no indicator that the data I'm seeing is outdated. App is a great idea but horrible execution. Lennox is leaving the door open for any competent competitors to eat their lunch.
Very poor app experience. Won't accept username and password that works from my desktop. I went through the reset process on my phone to change the password to what it already was, then I was able to log into the app. I was entering my address and when I got to picking the state from a list, the only way out of the list was the back button which also logged me out. Now I'm getting invalid password again. Unusable.
Unable to display current temp message. Nothing in my account opens or is accessible. When app might have worked when it wanted to it was super delayed and several of the options or features would not respond. What's the point in having a home & away feature if it doesn't work? Pointless! And not that the app pretty much doesn't work or communicate with the thermostat at all... It's f'kn junk. Modern technology that charges booko bucks for what??? EPIC FAIL
Far and away the worst app I've ever tried to use. Consistent connectivity issues to the point it will no longer connect at all. It is inexcusable for a company with a reputation as a leader in the HVAC industry, as Lennox has, to continue to sponsor an app of this low quality with seemingly no effort to correct it's many flaws and shortcomings. I've had other remote thermostats (Sensi, Nest) and NEVER had the issues with them that I've experienced with the icomfort app.
When we started the system (4/2019) we had network problems between the thermostat, Lennox website, phone app, and Alexa. The problem was finally resolved when a wiring error was found and corrected. Also, switching it to 5G made it very reliable. UPDATE: The app does not display the "Sensor" temperature when selected. I emailed about the problem, but still no update.
This company is asleep at the wheel . The ratings never have any replies from the developer/owner The app is very unreliable . Sometimes it works but most times it doesn't even though I'm using the app in the house and my wifi is good and all other connected devices work just fine . My system and athe app are all up to date . If you like wasting your time then get the app . If you get frustrated by poor working equipment then look elsewhere . You won't get ANY help from them here .
Worked out for a while but like others said, it would have to be reopened. I got a new router and it quit working, even with the password put in multiple times and reinstalling. The tech showed up and got it going for less than a day. I tried reinstalling and now it's asking for a password generated by the thermostat which I can't find. Horrible!
App is terrible. I have 3 installed and 70% of the time, after the 30s it tastes to log in to the app, the thermostats aren't visible. I was told I would lose some features, but still thinking about going back to nest. As much as these things cost, worst one the market!
I'm glad this app exists but it really needs some work. The concept and features are great. The biggest problems with the app are poor connectivity (even when my connection is really fast) and displaying incorrect information. It should retry connecting if it's not able to connect and it certainly should not display old or incorrect information. Even worse, sometimes you think you set your thermostat only to reopen the app and find out that it was not set. I don't trust this app and when I set my thermostat remotely I have to open it, set the temperature, and then force stop the app in Android OS before opening it again to verify it is actually set. This should not be necessary.
This app worked well for years. last update forces landscape mode. It is completely useless now. I had to login through a browser to adjust the thermostat. I have had this system for about 15 years. I would not purchase another one. Having a proprietary system that does not play well with other thermostats as well as the poor interface is very problematic. Stay away.
It appears that all development resources were spent on making the app aesthetically pleasing, functionality was not a priority. I have witnessed the excessive load times (if I can physically walk to my thermostat and set it faster, what's the point?). I have difficulty getting the app to connect; loses credentials if it fails. The menu layout is counterintuitive. No capital letters makes it contemporary, I'm guessing? How do I simply turn off my HVAC when necessary?!
This app is just a mess. It's a bear to get it to work again when it quits. The smart away mode fails to work. When it does work it will quit randomly. I can tell that it is not working when I can't connect to the thermostat remotely. The main issue is that the thermostat drops WiFi connectivity even though it is only 10 feet from the router with no obstructions. No other WiFi device drops the connection randomly just this thermostat. I would prefer a Ethernet connection from the thermostat to the router but the thermostat lacks an Ethernet port. You have to delete and forget the current WiFi connection in order to set it up again. If you just delete the password and try to reconnect it will not. Reaching lennox for support is virtually impossible. Two times I tried and was on hold for over an hour and finally gave up in frustration. They do not offer a call back option. I'm really livid after paying over $10,000 for a glorified HP unit that stops working randomly. Yes many times I have come home to a hot house. The installer stated that they do not support WiFi connectivity nor the app.
It's great when it works. I use this on my Pixel 4 phone and my ipad both have the same problems. When opening the app it always takes 2-5 minutes to load and you can't go look at another screen and come back or the process starts all over again. Also the programming menus are confusing. Temporarily changing the temperature until the next period should have a popup box asking duration. Editing and viewing schedules is difficult to find and clunky to change. I do like the clean look, though!
Unbelievably awful. Whoever wrote this app should be fired on the spot. Nothing works, not even a single setting or interface. You enter values and they are not saved. You exit the app and all the data/settings are gone. After opening the app after initial setup you get an interface "Do you want to erase account?". Wow. Nothing works. What a joke, Lennox.
the app works great but would be especially awesome is to have a required pin number in order to change passwords, user settings in the app. As a landlord, allowing my tenants to all have the app is great so they can each control the temperature, but I'd prefer to not have them be able to change my passwords and such. If you could add that in that would be amazing.
This app is a complete waste of time. It only works periodically. Most of the time you login it says it's unable to display the current temperature which makes it absolutely worthless. Love my lennox system hate the app. Update: app still is pointless. Doesn't even connect periodically. Such a waste of time. If you are looking for a system that you access while away from home; AVOID THIS SYSTEM!
Update 2021-10-07: the app is now working again, after being broken for many months. When it works it works decently well. I can't give more than 3 stars given it's rocky history and other quirks. Previously: The app worked fine for YEARS until they broke it *completely* in the last update. It is now completely unusable. It launches in forced landscape mode, all the widgets are piled on top of each other, and trying to clock in anything makes it immediately crashes.
It gets old fast when I open the app and then need to completely close it or End Task in order for it to finally show the actual thermostat reading. Otherwise, it's inaccurate and whatever setting you adjust doesn't stick. Plus, it's odd how the motion sensor on the thermostat can't determine if someone is home or not. It just gets worse and worse, really, with every use.
