Icon Torch - Flashlight

Just what was needed -- a simple icon, no extras, no ads, no fluff. The last Android update idiotically removed the flashlight button from the main drop-down menu and provided no way that I could see of turning on the light (all part of the great Google tradition of wrecking an arrangement that worked perfectly well). So I needed the simplest available light switch, and this is it.

Simple and free. Doesn't show ads. Doesn't ask for permissions. Doesn't have an interface that takes several seconds to work. It's just a flashlight, it works and it's free. Thank God there's still one good soul in this hellscape we call earth. One person who can program maybe the simplest imaginable app without monetizing it and make it available to others. Thank you for your integrity. You are one of few among many.

a true offering I grabbed this app on the run while equipping my new phone after the old one died in a rainstorm. Sad fact of the new age - don't get soaked. Fleshing out your customary apps on your new, dry device can take hours. But in the process of... re-apping(?) I found this ad-free, trouble-free, one-touch on-and-off super-bright flashlight app. I keep a flashlight. Touch the icon - on. Touch again - off. That's it. No screens. No ads. Whooda thunk it??? Only app better is Colornote.

Perfect, best free torch app I've found, so simple doesn't run like an app using resources or permissions, you just press the homescreen icon and it's on instantly, press it again and it's off. No adds, takes up very little space, can run other apps while the light is on, and there's even a stop button in the devices pull down menu to turn it off even easier if I'm running other apps at the same time (instead of having to go back to the homescreen and press it) Simple but perfect, just what I needed, thanks.

Dev is a genius finding simple ways to do this. The light stays on after the phone times out and locks. This is a good thing in case you need the light while the phone is laying on a table and times out, but annoying that the phone then needs unlock to turn the light off. Dev has has addressed that with another version that controls the light with the phone the power button. Both versions are good. Thanks!

This has been a great app! I use it for programmable buttons on a phone that didn't come with a stock light app. Recently though I have to unlock the screen too make that function work. Rock the screen and it continues to work for a bit. I'm not sure if the app or the phone updated or something else is causing this

Love this app! Does what it's suppose to do and nothing else. Ive been using this flashlight for a long time and have had it installed on several of my devices.And have never had a problem with it. The reviews that claim that the light turns off or wont stay on is probably a result of their phones screen timeout/inactivity settings which can be changed. The ad complaints are probably from other apps they installed. Ive seen NOT ONE ad! This app!! gets 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! :-)

The simplest flashlight app I could find. Small file size and no adds. It does exactly what's required, no more and no less. Very happy! Was using another flashlight app of >50MB (seriously??? To turn a light on and off???). I presume that program size was needed to deliver the ads.

This is truely the most convenient flashlight app I have ever found, it's small, quick and simple; it turns on and off just by clicking the icon, and best of all, no adds whatsoever. I don't often rate and review apps on the play store, but this one is worth it, I highly recommend it as your flashlight.

Very good one touch (no ads or open app and then switch on). The only improvement I would suggest is to see the icon light up when turned on. My old galaxy s3 came with a widget that did that. This icon is about as bright as that one was when it was turned on. Suggested to developer.

Great app and so much better than all the rest . However since latest updates by huwawei and android it switches off after less than a minute which can be very annoying when light is needed for longer . In fact everything is getting worse with every huawei and android update but wouldnt change this torch app to any other.

"Turning on and off the flashlight on your phone should be a native feature, or done by a small app that works and doesn't have ads or other invasive features" - if you agree with that statement then this is the app for you. The only reason I'm not using this app, is because Aleksandr Balaev's other flashlight app has features that appeal to me. The other app also has no ads, works perfectly on my phone, and is also less than 1mb.

I really like this flashlight widget, iit just turns the light in the back on or off and the "widget" is found on one of the screens, there is no need to look for it in the widgets! Tap the icon and it turns the light on, tap it again and it turns the light off. For those who have Samsung Galaxy S8/S9/S10 and the newest android version (One UI), you can set the Bixby button to only activate Bixby by pressing the Bixby button twice and set the flashlight to come on when you press it just once!

Excellent! It does what it says it does. I use it with side key set to open an app as the system settings does not support open a shortcut. Now double press on power button toggles flashlight.

Great flashlight App. Typically when you need a flashlight you need it immediately without opening the App then select the function and settings that you need for it to function and this App is Johnny-On-The-Spot. One tap on the screen and you instantly have the light that you need. Very convenient.

It does all that is wanted for its function. It turns the camera light on and off by just tapping on it. It doesn't try and be fancy, and doesn't have to load a screen to turn it on or off. Best flashlight app I jave seen for any phone.

Great app for Samsung Galaxy devices, first to install. In settings theirs a option to set shortcuts via to x2 power key presses, set it to this app, and it turns on and off the torch / flashlight instantly, without the app appearing or showing. The app is basically just code to activate the torch, nothing else. Tiny install.

Great app. So easy. All I have to do is tap a easy to access icon on my homescreen. That's much better than swiping down the on large screen size phone. I can wear gloves easily turn my flash light on and off. I have this app on both my phones for easy access to my devices built in flashlight.

I love that you don't even have to open an app! When you touch the icon, the light turns on. Touch it again and the light turns off. No messing around with ads or on/off switches like other flashlight apps I've tried. I highly recommend this one!

It works!! No need for one of those completely unnecessary flashlight apps with ads, this is simple, if your phone does not have a flashlight widget built in, like it should, ⚠ ⚠ ⚠ (Samsung note 8!!) this is all you need!! Thank you 😎 An updated look would be nice though.

Best, cleanest flashlight I've found. Simple one-step use. Just an icon button on your home page. No app with ads, no settings, and doesn't open an app screen when being used. Deserves a perfect 5 rating.

There is just nothing to say about this app. It is too good to express my happiness in words. Best of all the torchlight apps. No complicated way. Simple as ever. If the torchlight in your phone is not working, then this is a pretty good app. Bright light, no bugs and also the simplest of all.

Very good but it takes too much space on the front page (I have one icon slot which I can't fill since I placed the flashlight) Another thing is that when you activate you don't know if the flash is on by looking at the icon, it barely change. However this is very useful.

A good straightforward flashlight with a good interface that would be a 5 stars for me, but it periodically turns off while I'm using it - I'm uninstalling as unfortunately it happens too often for it to be reliable when I'm needing it as a light. I do have an older phone - galaxy note 4 - and honestly i recommend trying it yourself as others might not have the same issue

Absolutely perfect. No permissions needed and launching the app simply turns on the flashlight. Nothing more. No fuss, no nonsense. Ideal if you want to assign gesture control. Thank you thank you!!

The flashlight app I've been searching all my life. I missed the double press power key to activate flashlight shortcut from my old phone and this app fixed it. Just assign a shortcut to open this app and voila. Works every time without fail! Kudos to developers

No ads, a simple on/off button, no elaborate flashlight simulation to take up memory and slow down your phone. Simple and easy to use. Haven't see a better flashlight app anywhere.

an useful & good application, even though almost mobile phones having a quick shortcut on notification area, one may like to have it on home screen too. only if the logo is made with a 3d radio button & on/off is visible on a widget (if provided) people will get attracted & will love it much. thanks for good efforts.

Been using this for quite a while. Works great. If you have an issue with the Bixby button not launching the app - the problem is with bixby/Samsung. Samsung occasionally changes something and prevents the flashlight from working but easily fixed.
