cool app,it have definitely improved the overall sound of my pioneer sc-61 receiver that a friend have gave me with no remote control.works awesome for me.
Use this version for Android v12. More recent versions of this app didn't work or stopped working on my S21... but 2012 works as it should.
Does not work with Galaxy S10. We need an update!!!!
Needs updating. Doesn't work with Galaxy-s9. Useless
It was really good. But it stopped working when I upgraded my phone.
needs updates for any new phone past 2017.
Doesn't work with new version of Android
works on Pioneer sc 1222 a/v receiver using Samsung galaxy 10
Stopped connecting to my receiver
Works really well on my SC 1222. Only issue is Pandora stations and any other menu refreshes before I can make a selection. In addition I would like to see a quick way to get back to volume and current source Update: seems scrolling issue has been fixed
App was great on iOS. On Android, constantly needs to reconnect to my SC-67. On Kit Kay update, doesn't seem to work at all. Constant crashes, unresponsive buttons, and a slew of other problems. Come on Pioneer, a $2K receiver should have some decent software with it.
I have been attempting to use this app for close to a year, finding myself constantly juggling the alternative apps as well patiently waiting for icontrolav2012 to come right but the day has come to uninstall!! Very disappointing pioneer, i have had 6 of your receiver's with the most recent being the VSX-1122K @ $1,199aud when purchased, how about some support for existing customers
I don't understand why this app get some many 1 star, guess Android have a fair share of dumb user as iOS. the description clearly stated the model supported yet some install it blindly and expect the app to work on their incompatible models. sigh. To be honest, this app need polishing, like the player control like volume, input and navigation have to be accessible instantly via an always visible icon. Its a pain to back up several steps to find the volume or folders. the eye candies gimmick can be bury deep, it wears out just a few minutes after playing. after that, we want to enjoy our music/movies collection.
Using with a Samsung note 10.1. Turn the power to the receiver on and wait 30-45 seconds and the app links right to the receiver. I use primarily to play my music via the media server to zone 2 and works like a charm. There can be minor glitches like some library titles not showing up, but overall it does just what I need it to do. Being a 20 year vet in the AV industry if you want to have full/perfect control of your system buy an automated remote. Don't expect a free app to be the answer. I'm sure the app does a lot more than I use it for. All I care about is controlling music to zone 2 speakers in the living room and back yard. I'm giving 4 stars because of the minor glitches but overall a cool app.
This app has always been buggy, but it would work. Now it doesn't work. I've purchased a second receiver to operate my outdoor speakers. I was warned that pioneer would not keep the app updated.
I absolutely love my receiver (SC68) and its capabilities, but the AV2012 app is lacking majorly! The amp and app recognize video files in a media server, and yet it only gives file errors, when you attempt to play? It won't play video? Video Mirroring is one of the biggest proponents of airplay! This receiver could be standalone with speakers, tv, and your personal device, but no! Wasted! The look of the app is great, but most of it is useless gimmicks. iTunes can connect, and stream a song, and control volume, but when I pick a video loaded through iTunes, it reverts the audio back to my computer speakers? So itunes/iOs will music airplay ONLY! Why has there not already been any updates to any of these issues? Why can't the android app airplay/dlna within itself, since airplay is not an android component? I deal with high end equipment across the board, but this app, which is a total clincher to the equipment it controls, fails miserably, and should not even be offered if it is going to be such a half thought out attempt. Its a sales gimmick, not a functional program.
This app is as good as its iPad version and I can't understand those rating this app 1 and 2 stars. Its a five star app for me.
The new apps from Pioneer are not compatible with my 922 k receiver. This is supposed to be the one. But it doesn't work. What a lot of rubbish.
So out of the blue the app just stops working. I know the Amp is still connectable on the network because Spotify sees it and casts to it. I have reset the app, re-entered the I. P. and the app returns the Amp name but will not connect to it. The app is now not working at all. I have it installed on 3 devices: 2 Android and 1 iPhone. It doesn't work on any device. I have deleted and re-downloaded the app to ensure I have the latest version and it still doesn't work.
This exact same app is ten times better on Apple devices. Why would you guys alienate the largest smart phone market on the planet with a garbage version of the better store certain. Very disappointing app, and bad business. Upgrade the old apps that work with everything, but just put out new apps.
I like it. I whis they could remove the 2012 I dont like being reminded that I have something from 2012. The app is great tho
Was brilliant for the first year but now nothing & nobody will make it see the amp. Just error codes all the time. Useless software now. Come on Pioneer prove you care.
I have a compatible receiver, so the app should work 100% of the time, not once in a while. Keeps complaining about receiver not found most often. And when it finds it, it works, and I can navigate around and control as needed. But as others point out, it certainly needs some polishing. Any instructions from Pioneer in the description above regarding the discoverablility of the device from the app would be useful. Any required receiver settings, wifi/lan settings etc. Quite disappointed with the app actually.
It saw the device, attempted to connect to it, but received an error message that the device was uncontrollable. Tried multiple times
Just bought new pioneer receiver (not a cheap one either), yes BRAND NEW, the a/v receiver was produced this year (2013) and the app doesn't work for my receiver.
Works great, when it works. Constantly fighting connection issues. Never updated. Pioneer makes augment product then neglects to keep it updated. Same with receivers firmware. Whet good is making it upgradeable if you never upgrade.
It's stopped to work on my S21, it worked before without problems but now don't want to connect. Good sound equipment but awful app
