For the users that struggle to make their old equipment to work I had a newer device on the newer app. The new app av5 does not detect the older device. I installed the older app and then the newer av5 app detected my older device. Hope that helps for anyone. Using a Pioneer vsx-924 and Pioneer lx59 with the same app by switching devices in app.
I just installed this app on my new Note 10. It took several tries to get it to work, but after several receiver and phone reboots, happy to say it's working fine. I have a VSX-1123.
Been months now with no word response from dev or support. Joke of a company. The app wasn't even good when it did work. Now it's just completely useless with the Pie update. No updates for my receiver. No updates for this app. Time to go back to Yamaha or Marantz.
Like everyone else. The app hasn't been updated for new android updates and now doesn't work on newer devices. For an expensive amplifier, this is extremely poor service and I am changing allegiance to Denon/Marantz camp. Pioneer just want your money and have no idea about customer service
Complete Pioneer fail. No support for the latest version of Android. Due to this complete fail by Pioneer to provide ongoing app support, rendering my 1.5k AV setup completely useless. I will never buy another Pioneer product.
Abandonware. Pioneer does not update this app for newer devices. Still works occasionally on Pixel devices but all current Samsung devices are out of luck.
Great Control. Easy to use interface. Pioneer is the best! But now it doesn't work on my s10+
Pioneer makes pretty unreliable receivers and this app only further proves pioneer doesnt care about it's customers or products. This app doesn't open on my Samsung S20 phone.
Android 9 Pie I've just upgraded and now not able to use this app, also tried Av5 Same Issue.. They need to re-compile for pie.
Like any other Pioneer service it's rubbish and outdated. If you want decent customer service sell Pioneer and buy something else

Just tried the latest version on Nexus 5. Crashed on launch, just like always. Crap. Force closes on launch on my Nexus 4 and N1. Well, sometimes will run for a while on the N1 then crashes and stubbornly refuses to run thereafter. If I disconnect from the lan, runs but gives Error B47109 later when I reconnect. A fun but pointless toy when it worked.
Pioneer, if you are reading this, your failure to keep products up to date and abandoning apps because there is no money in them has resulted in losing a customer for life. I get it, I bought this years ago and I'm not actively purchasing new products from you, so payback is to abandon the apps I use. Well, I've abandoned you Pioneer. It works both ways. Oh, I won't buy Onkyo either, since you're related. Thanks.
