I found the link on your website. I have tried to install this app twice and it seems to fail at around 30 some percent. will try again later. Thanks for all efforts.
Easy to use. Great pics. Logical sorting.
I'm surprised that with all the knowledge of the people making the app, that it's so disorganized. There are orange flowers under the purple tab, there are five petaled flowers under the four petal tab. There is no scotch pine, when inputting the plant name, nothing comes up. I use it some, but having to scroll thru flowers as the above, it's easier to use google
Single best plant app for Idaho period. It is a simply amazing in its breadth! Made botanists out of novices.
Using this app to identify plants as a volunteer and if the flowers are in bloom, it's easy. However, some have yet to bloom or are past blooming, so they have been more difficult to identify. Would be nice if leaf structure and size of plant were an option, and if all pictures showed the leaves as well as flower head. Now can search by plant family, thanks! Say I'm pretty sure it's a sedge or buckwheat, only seeing varieties of those is helpful. I'm learning more, so it'll start getting easier.
This free app developed by someone who isn't a professional botanist is better than most of the paid apps available in the region. I'm an ecologist and have used this app fairly extensively in the field and in the office. I love that you can search based on flower timing, region, elevation, and leaf arrangement, since this can usually substantially pare down my options and get me to an ID much faster. The offline capacity to search is very helpful.
Using a checklist method to bring up a possible list of plants is easy and user friendly. I like that it is Idaho specific, although this is a habitat diverse state, but you include habitats and county groups in the checklist. Also enjoy all the About Author/App and instructions menu. One bug with that menu there is no way to get back home quickly, can only press back through all of it. If that bug gets fixed I will gladly rate it 5 stars.
This app is incredibly useful for botanical field work. I tend not to expect much out of apps for this sort of thing, but it worked great, had range maps and a lot of useful info on individual species. Some pics could stand to be higher resolution, but this isn't a huge detriment.
