IDEMIA eID - Trusted Online ID

This is one of these many apps that looks good on paper. If only they could get it implemented so I could use it. Maybe a good paper to present and discuss in your Intro to Trusted ID course. I could not get to the trusted website that they use to verify my device. I went through the process of taking my photo a half a dozen times. Each time after going through the whole process of taking the picture, connecting dots, etc, i got a message asking me if I was having a problem. It never did say where I was failing. Maybe it's a bad hair day for this app and they are updating it. But I tinkered with this for over an hour to no avail. Best Regards.

The app is horrendous in its implementation of facial recognition. Firstly, who's idea was it to try and 'connect the dots' by moving your head around? That is such a foreign concept I can't imagine any average person figuring it out. Secondly, the refresh rate is so slow, you always overshoot, under shoot, and it kicks you out after 3 unsuccessful facial recognition attempts, and doesn't let you try another method for 15 min!!! Unbelievably frustrating.

For those who are having trouble with the text confirmation: They may have provided instructions to this effect, but what you need to do is choose the IDEMIA eID app after tapping the link in the text message they send you. You don't open the link in your browser. Highly counterintuitive in 2020, when we're all so used to transcribing digits from texts into apps. Anyway, once you get past that hurdle, the rest of the setup steps are fairly straightforward.

Pretty awful experience to set up. Considering it's a security app a bad initial impression does not inspire confidence. It thought my WiFi was turned off (untrue), then the verification link sent via text message also didn't work. Apparently it was unnecessary since it let me proceed as verified without following the link. I'm glad I don't rely on this and just need it for my state's MVD system. I set it to reauthenticate once a year since that's the absolute minimum. Neat idea, badly executed.

The app gave an initial error about wifi being turned off, even though it was on. But I proceeded through set up without issue. Wearing glasses, I found the instruction for the photo taking a bit annoying - trying to read without my glasses and navigate the head movements in order. But I actually was able to complete it while wearing my glasses. I would suggest changing the instruction to something along the lines of "if you have difficulties taking the photo try without glasses."

One of the options to verify your account with the AZ MVD is to use this app. As others have said, please choose a different method. This app doesn't identify that WiFi is connected, and it absolutely will not take a photo of the back of your driver's license. The front photo images just fine. Avoid the frustration of using this app until they fix the issues. If you are using it for AZ MVD , just use the self photo option.

So far, this app doesn't work at all on my Pixel 2 XL. It won't send the confirmation text. Also, despite being connected to a WiFi network when opening the app, it ALWAYS says it isn't connected to WiFi. If you can't even get the app working for setup, I'm hesitant to trust it with my personal information...

App is used by my dmv. It was quick enough to download and open but that was as far as I could go. The second step of the verification is to snap a picture of your ID. I tried every lighting scenario from natural light to only from a bulb...my phone has a quality camera and yet after all this the app was unable to take a pic. It was frustrating and ultimately I had to use a different app to verify my identity.

It doesn't work. I had to reinstall it repeatedly to get it to access my phone camera (permissions were checked; no other app has trouble accessing it), and after that it failed to properly verify the ID, which is the app's one job. Forced to use it as the sole provider for my state's DMV verification since physical offices are closed and it is worse than useless.

Indicated wifi was off when it was on. Ignored this and moved on. Verifying phone worked. When you open the link, open it with the eid app, not your browser. No problem with taking picture of id. Used my brown wallet as contrast and it found the id quickly. Picture of self took 2 tries. First was blurry. After that it was set up and ready to use. Seemed excessive to need to do all of this to get 12 dollars back for registration refund though, but thats the az mvd's fault.

I had the worst experience with the auto capture feature, works fine for front of Id, like a matter of milliseconds, but after 10 minutes of trying to get it to capture the back, I still have nothing， no manual capture no nothing， just "keep trying" really f-ing horrible user experience if you ask me, and it's used to facilitate gov services, the dmv struggle bus just keeps on going I guess

Oh. My. God. This is the most frustrating app I've ever used. It will make you go through all these steps. Taking pictures of your ID, holding your head in certain ways to get the perfect picture. Then you send it all in to verify and it gives an error message and tells you to call them every single time. I am doing everything 100% right! It just WILL not verify. So I am leaving my account unprotected. Not worth the stupid trouble. This app sucks!

I needed to verify for AZ MVD. Save yourself the trouble and select another verification method. I wasn't even able to get through the step verifying my phone. The link sent wouldn't work no matter what I did. I tried removing and reinstalling the app, copying and pasting, clicking directly, typing it into the browser, multiple browsers.

Awful! Web site is down for activation. First screen shows 2019 as the year - not a warm-fuzzy. Turn off overlays? Are you nuts? Even my banking apps do not make me try to figure out which overlay is creating the issue! Fail!! Do not download, app does not work. Arizona simple web experiences are now awful after the "upgrades". Apparently they do not test and verify their changes. Even my current special plates show available when I search now. Shame on you! Minus 2 stars.

I think the app does what it is supposed to do. I tried to use it for dmv. In my State they don't update photos often. Also if you happen to have facial hair that can mess you up. I had a short scruff when my pic was taken, now I have a longer beard. Customer service said I had 2 choices shave the beard back to the length in the DL photo or get a new license. All I wanted to do was check to see when my title is being sent, which I still have not been able to do.

This has to be the worst app I have ever used. It would not take the picture of my driver's license no matter what I did. Bank apps seem to have no problems. I switched to get verified by the credit version, it kept telling me I was wrong on answering the questions, but I wasn't. This app needs a lot of work. I used to be impressed with AZdot, not so much now.

It was a bit rough getting started, but called tech support and they worked with me to get through the verification process which does have some issues. After that, I was able to complete my business on the AZ MVD Now site without any issues. This is a real timesaver! There are many transactions I can now perform without having to go to a branch office.

Doesn't work. Attempting to use this to verify my identity for the dmv and I couldn't even register. Every time I've tried putting my number in the confirmation text sends a broken half link. It does not register that it needs to open in the app and not a browser. Call center associate could not help either, basically ran through the same process. Should include a pastable code rather than a redirect. As it is this app is near useless.

What a collossal failure. In order to create an account at a State dmv, they require this app. This app doesn't work, so I am unable to access my records. Hard to believe anyone was paid to produce this so-called app. They send you a link, but it's broken. It's not properly formatted and editing it to correct their broken syntax doesn't work either

This app barely gets 3 stars. As MANY others have noted getting the selfie and drivers licenses photos to work are very painfully hard to complete. Here are a couple tricks I used to get them to work. #1 use a very well lighted area to take all photos. #2 Be sure to use a contrasting background to take the drivers license photos (I used a light blue back ground from an invoice). #3 Slow steady movement to allow phone's camera to auto-focus correctly. #4 (like another comment) lay flat on the floor for the selfies in a well lighted room #5 when lining up the selfies move your head NOT the phone #6 set up a pin, as verification by selfie may take 5 to 10 tries!

This app is terrible to use. Keeps telling me I have no connection and my wifi is toggled off. Its on. Im online posting this review but the app thinks its off. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Now I get a general error that won't even let me get past the intro screen. Tells me I have to call the support line.

It took a couple attempts to get the app to work for me. I used natural light for everything. I was able to use a near white background with no reflection, instead of a dark background as the app suggested. It picked up my drivers license easily when I switched backgrounds. For the selfie portion, follow the direction exactly. The key is holding the camera level to your face and move your head to connect the numbered dots. Don't move the camera to connect the numbered dot. I hope this helps.

Absolute garbage app. I do everything it says to do hold the line in the circle and it just sits there. I feel like I am playing a game designed by a 2 year old. We are closer to the nwo. App does not work. Garbage. But if it worked they probably would not have chosen it.

Not worth time. I Uninstaller 3 times and reinstalled after restarting phone. After entering info completely I continue to get an error code to call. The assistant cont to tell me to Uninstall app and restart phone. I have followed directions for an hour now and am no closer to have a working app. I have a galaxy 10 plus and strong wifi. Your app sucks!

I downloaded the app and couldn't get any further. It said it required wifi to work properly, but either choice landed me on an error page and phone number to contact if I kept experiencing problems. Uninstalled and reinstalled with same issue. Stupid the AZ MVD Now service is using (trying to anyway) this app.

I wish I could swear here and have it accepted as a valid complaint. This is singularly the very worst app experience I've ever had. When I try to authenticate it texts me a link that is invalid. I even tried it on a couple of computers to see if it was just my phone. Nope, error, cannot find server. I then tried to use chat. The person answered instantly with a canned response, then disconnected me from chat...and now I can't find chat any more. You and your service are horrible. Unfortunately, there is no way to contact AZ MVD and tell them their ID app doesn't work. They are probably wondering why no one is using their online service. What a waste of my time.

I would give this software zero stars if possible! I timed myself to see how quickly I could install and pay my state taxes. 8.5 hours later after repeated tries, half to install, half to try and use, I gave up and uninstalled. Two calls to tech support gained me no advantage, one basically indicated if I was not running a Galaxy or LG phone it was not supported on Android. I am running fully updated Android 9 on a Pixel 2XL, so pure Android with no Samsung or LG bios overlay. This is junk!

It'll be nice if the app would ACTUALLY takes the picture of my license like it should. Used all kinds of different good lightening and different backgrounds and made sure there was no glare. Why do i have to do all this tricks just because YOUR technology doesn't do it's job. Smh

This is the worst app I have ever downloaded. It gets you absolutely nowhere fast. I would give it zero stars if I could. It took at least 6 tries to get my picture taken - the balancing act and target practice you have to do is extremely difficult. Then it wants a qr code to get to the website I need. WHAT QR CODE. Don't have one, can't find one. Had to take a picture of my ID. Where is it now.

I wanted two factor authentication for my MVD account, but this software prevents me from doing it. It gives me errors about WiFi, losing connection, restarting enrollment, etc. It's u professional and completely unusable. I have no idea why Arizona MVD chose this for two factor. It's beyond useless.
