In light of the negative reviews of this product, I felt it worthwhile to document my experience. My laptop is a 2014 MacBook Air running macOS Mojave version 10.14.2. My Android tablet, being used as a second display, is a Google Pixel C running Android 8.1.0. When I first downloaded the apps, I was on a public WiFi, and the two systems would not communicate. I've had similar problems before. I've never troubled to thoroughly investigate this issue in the past, but at a guess it is a firewall / access / network setup issue. Returning home, I had no problems getting the two systems to communicate, and as I write this I have my tablet displaying a second application. I have disconnected and reconnected several time with no problems. Initially I manually entered the laptop's IP address and port, but the Android side of iDisplay was able to auto-detect the Mac and connect. It's not a high speed link by any means, and I would not recommend playing Minecraft on the Android second screen, though it can be done. System preferences showed both screens and allowed some configuration. So, so far I can say that the software is working as advertised.
I think this is a clever idea, but I was not able to use it in any practical way. The images on my tablet were slow to respond (as in tens of seconds or even minutes) and often highly pixelated. I did reach out to the developer twice using their online help form, but I didn't receive a response after waiting a week after each request for help.
The idea is great and the app is ok. The reason why I'm giving 3 stars is due to the fact the USB option is not enabled. I can use the app with no problem, but the USB option is kinda of a deal breaker since connecting over wifi has a high latency. I use it with mac-android and windows-android and don't have too many problems with it.
You need to download the software for your pc fro a site with an expired security certificate. Once did install it connect to my phone. Unfortunately when dragging items to the phones display it still would not show anything despite showing as being connected. By the app and PC. I was unable to get a refund 30mins later as it is not covered by there returns policy, so don't even take a chance on this app.
I'm really disappointed with this app. Android support is abysmal and only works via WiFi. The help page says that the wired connection will come back, but that hasn't been the case. I'm still waiting... The lag via a WiFi connection makes it unusable. So in the end this was a waste of money. I wish I could get my money back.
Im technically savy and couldn't get this to work. I would like a refund please. Tried all the suggestions on your page. my tablet screen sees my pc, connects but is just black. moving windows offscreen does seem to go somewhere but not on to this screen. Too bad, would have been great.
Extremely bad performance (especially in comparison to the free Spacedesk app), mouse doesn't work, no sound (the main reason I bought this app, as Spacedesk doesn't support audio) and it even causes glitches and slowdowns on my Windows host. At least I got my money back using a Google Play refund.
Super! Only a few more features that would make this a hit and be nice to have: 1) full screen with no task bar. 2) device search in different subnet classes, for example 192.160.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 be seen. 3) Allow more than just PC or Mac to connect
Unfortunately tragic quality. And even worse, that we cannot get out money back. Looks like that's why there's not "free trial" period, because of so many disappointed users. May I ask though, can we "transfer" the license from android to iOS? Perhaps this will improve the rating a bit.
Too slow, wifi connection problems, crashes some windows functions such as CTRL + F function I was used to love and now it doesnt work! Total waste of money! Will ask for refund!
No USB conection for Windows, so unless you use apple, useless as the wifi conection has a delay that is understandable, but makes it unusable.
Screen sharing option is choppy a best. I used USB and wifi options and both equally horrible. Using a Lenovo tab4 10 with Windows PC..
Not compatible with Windows 10 - Couldn't get the server to run, kept requiring reboots each time but never functioned.
i cant get it to work on my 2015 Samsung Galaxy Note 12. it finds the Mac and then just fails and the app quits. i cant get it to submit feedback either. says it failed to upload the doc. please refund.
Not sure why this app has so many negative reviews. It has worked flawlessly for me as a second display for emulating the gps display on my Flight Simulator.
What an utter disgrace: A comparatively expensive app that does not work, has no support response & no refunds. Basically it's theft dressed as software sales. Outrageous
SCAM!!!!!! If I could give it -10 stars I would. Junk platform junk customer service...if you feel like getting this app let me know and I will send you my venmo info and you can send me the money, uesless app
Does not even work properly. Connects but just shows a black screen.
After installing the tablet and desktop apps and ensuring that both are on the same network, the tablet does not recognize the computer.
Weak, unstable connection. No landscape support? Doesn't work for me. Glad Google provides a refund to try apps out.
For me it worked well and it's working as expected. I have a Samsung tabA 2019 and windows 10 laptop. I definitely recommend this product
It's unstable, never stays connected. For a $20 app I spected better performance
Did not work for me even after trying all the provided settings. Used PC and android tablet
Does not work, no support at all, and no response at all while requesting a refund.
Wasn't able to connect my Mac to my Tab S6 and can't get a refund. Terrible.
Not working. A few years ago, after buying it, I discovered in their FAQ that the extended displayed function has been put on hold for stability reason. Now I see that they took out the USB connectivity! (only wifi allowed) WORST: the extended display [wifi] is not working: it cannot even start. Only the (useless) extended display [wifi] function is working. Since I need an extra display in my work environment, I cannot connect my tablet (Thompson TO13P, a 13.3") on the secured corporate wifi (need certificate). Without USB / Extended Display, this app is useless to me. Too expensive for nothing.
