My phone plays Genshin Impact fine but this game sometimes overheats (screen goes black or does crazy stuff). On tablet, game crashes or becomes a slideshow quite often. That's how poorly optimized it is. Devs haven't talked in their discord android feedback channel in 6 months (November) and the background play is still in beta and very buggy. Ongoing nerfs make it harder for new players and many community leaders have quit updating guides and playing.
I was excited to learn there's a D&D based idle game, only to be disappointed that it's not optimized for phones. Why make a game with a UI size for tablets when a majority of folks have phones? Seems counter intuitive in my opinion. I'll keep an eye on this in hopes they change it in the near future. 1 star until they redesign the UI
something i would like to see are champions that are the enemies, like the werewolves and weretigers. overall a good game, with very little focus of the premium currency, and the fact it is possible to obtain mostly everything within the game. UPDATE. THERE SHOULD BE A DOWNLOAD ALL setting, so those on slower connections don't have to continue to fetch files (keep getting retrying requests errors. This could be on ALL PLATFORMS.
Game interface is basically unusuable on a phone for anyone with even slightly suspect eyes. Makes it borderline unplayable if you don't use some screen zoom stuff. As soon as that is fixed, I will gladly revisit my review, but as it stands now not even the draw of characters designed by my favorite YouTubers will keep me playing a game where I can't tell what the hell is going on because I can't read or interact with anything easily. This is a completely stupid problem to have and really should not have hung around as long as it has, FIX THE PHONE VERSION.
Wow. Everything is far too small. The text is too small to read. The options are way too small to differentiate. I have no idea what I'm doing other than tapping the screen until the game continues. Needs a lot of work
The game is fun but extremely buggy. If you get into this game expect constant crashes and frequent loss of progress. Annyoing and frustrating enough in the long term to make me not want to play at all. And don't expect much from customer service other than an "Oh I'm sorry that happened to you, it must be your fault. Have a nice day." EDIT: If I could give this app fewer stars I really would. Still constantly crashes. Avoid completely.
For real... what are you doing?? I play this game on computer. You can't just throw the same game on mobile. I normally don't have a problem with small UI, but it flows off my phone screen and is partially unviewable. What you can see is seriously so small that it's practically illegible. The game seems pretty enjoyable. You're doing yourself a disservice by offering on mobile in the current form.
Downloaded, played for a few hours, game glitches out and crashes, none of the data is saved. Fun experience 1/10
The cloud save was working now, need social functions like guild. Also the speed was too slow, even after many prestige the game was so slow.
This idle/deck building game isn't like others I've played. It's much more interesting & involves strategy & knowing your champions. Balancing squads is challenging without being inaccessible. There is a constant flow of free champions and gear. Free chest codes come out almost daily, the community is large & supportive. There are d&d streams with game characters! Everyone at my house plays this now, we really enjoy the level of detail & the depth of the game. And it's free!
4 Stars for nostalgia. If I didn't know the characters from other things, it would just be ok. Takes too long to get gems, so it takes too long to get familiars, and too much is locked behind real money purchases. Either give us gems faster, or give everything an optional gem cost.
I've been playing this game for almost 10 months now and it is still one of my favourite games to play, there is still plenty of content for me to do, and I love the monthly updates with new champions and variants along with theory crafting what is the best combination of champions for the formation
This is a fun game. I would like to be able to get more champions without RL money, but I'm working on it.
Loved the game BUT you lost me on the reset and all characters you paid for go bye bye. Hell no. No thanks.
Just unplayable on phone. I was excited to check it out, as one of my favorite YouTube DnD groups (The Oxventure) had some of their characters added. I figured with a large phone it would be doable. After struggling just to enter my birthday I gave up.
It's a great idle game with a big community. This port works and looks good on my Surface Duo. Most negative remarks here are from phone users and I can't blame them. UI needs better scaling for phones.
It's okay on PC, but when I loaded this version the screen is cut off on the sides. I couldn't select the menu button or the auto-forward option, and there was nothing I could change in settings to fix it. The whole thing kind of looks like instead of actually changing anything to make it compatible, it was just copied and pasted onto different devices in the exact same format as the PC layout.
Played this on the PC, would love if a dynamic UI scale or something similar would be implemented so you can actually use this on a normal phone. There are other idle games out there that can be played on PC and Android, without the UI size issue. The notice you get at the beginning of the game that it's intended for tablets is nice and all, but seems like the lazy way to "fix" it.
Great so far. I have some trouble hitting bats flying behind the UI. Is there a way to minimize the UI on top? The game is very grindy, but I expected that, and I am ok with it. You don't really have to spend real money unless you want to. You just have to commit to some grinding to level up your group. The gameplay is that you watch your group do everything, while you click to help them. It's pretty simple, but, again, you do need to grind levels in order to progress as you go along.
Came back to this game after a long break to find UI changed and everything is impossibily tiny and it's hard to tap on tiny menu icons, some of which are tucked into the corners of the screen where the phone curves. So I guess it's been changed for PC play and it's basically impossible to play properly. It's an idle game, if you can't play it on your phone what's the point?
Pixel 2 - "Great" game on the larger form factors (tablet, PC, console). "Good" game on phone for all the expected reasons (you know, the ones you warm us about in-game, "you're playing on a phone, it was intended for larger screens, etc"). I make my way around the UI on my phone but would love to see some tweaks to the UI layout to make it easier for smaller form factor devices. I often level up a character when I meant to upgrade a skill. Other issues like that. Game is great, though.
I played this for around 6 months last year. I quit because I got frustrated that progress in levels wouldn't happen. NOW IT DOES! Now you get all the rewards, coins and level progression when the app is not running and I love it! Also .... NO ADS! Its fantastic. I have spent close to $30 on this app through various purchases (just get familiars, not chests) and it is now my favorite app to play/check on through out the day. Thank you for adding that in! 5 stars!
I won't give a negative review for trying... This is a really cool D&D idler on PC. It translates well to Android from what I can tell, however I do not have a tabelt to try it on. It runs very solid on my S9+ but the UI elements are really tiny. It is usable and playable, but the UI elements really need to be scaled. The developer gives a warning about this as the game starts. If you have needle fingers this may be enjoyable on a phone. Hopefully devs can work UI scaling in future releases.
As it is right now, the text and buttons size make it really hard to play, whenever there's some dialog I need to squint my eyes and place my phone right up to my face to even see anything, and I almost never get to finish reading before the text disappears, and with the buttons I regularly press something other than what I was trying to press, if there were an option to change the scale of the UI the game would be a lot more enjoyable.
Pros: Really fun time waster. Its nice that you can turn off the game and your team will still progress. Great game for having on while watching something else, or listening to a podcast. Cons: hard to use on a small phone (usable enough with a large phone and some precision). Does not link to your steam account. So favorite characters you've bought/unlocked there won't be available here.
This is a dumbed down idle player based on the D&D game of Forgotten Realms. Although I am pleased to finally fine a half decent video game like this, I am critical of several points such as the speed of the text boxes popping up & disappearing before I can read them. What's the rush? 2nd, I wanted to choose which characters to play with but you get what you get. Also, the layout & direction never changes, so after a while it gets kind of redundant & boring. Flesh out the plot more, thanks.
Great, when it works. I can see the issues some folks have with playing this on a phone, and if I didn't have a stylus (Note10), I imagine I'd have issues as well. As it is, I'm able to play effectively with the stylus, and I very much enjoy the game. However, since the last update, I haven't been able to play. At the loading screen I get a message that says "Game Client needs to update in order to continue playing, check the app store" (I'm paraphrasing a bit here) but there is no update.
this would be a 5 star review if the developers would just stop being lazy and allow you to transfer keep save data consistent between different devices like my desktop and this mobile version. it's really lame that you have to pick one or the other, especially considering you will eventually have to invest some real world money to get anywhere in a reasonable time.
Needs a better UI, everything is tiny, so tiny that you can't reliably click things the first try. Game also likes to flood the screen with notifications such as "you clicked 100 times!" These are worthless screen blockers the majority of the time. Other than those 2 conplaints it is a fun game, hope they fix some of these issues to make it more enjoyable
