Good game, only 2 points for me: 1. Touch sensitivity is way too high; I try to tap an upgrade and, more often than not, it make the bar scroll and it usually takes multiple tries to just get one upgrade clicked. 2. Ads are way too frequent. There's an ad bar at the bottom of the screen at all times and you have forced ads after almost every level, and you also have the optional ads in order to get some small bonuses. There's a fine balance between making money from ads, and making people happy

EDIT - Now that I've played it for a bit longer, here's an extended review. PROS: I really like the pictures and how it looks like when the different parts are being drawn. It's also a brilliant game idea. CONS: Paid 3€ to remove ads, but I still have ads. I don't see this game scaling very well. The game makes you wait a few seconds after each picture before the 'continue' button becomes available. Only the 'Watch ad for bonus money' is available immediately. This 30s ad gives you less money than just playing the game for 30 seconds. As a player it is a pain to wait for the button and slowly see it appear before you can press it. The game can be completed in around 3 hours - excluding pictures from the unlockable packs (see below). That is a very low playtime for an idle game. I'm used to idle games that last for months, if not years. Additional 'packs' for pictures are locked behind a blue coin currency that you can only get from daily rewards. (At least i have not found any other way to get them). You get only get around 150 per day. Some packs cost 300 or more. It has more issues, but google play won't let me have more characters in this review.

I really enjoyed some of the art pieces that you make with this app but the problems mostly outweigh them for me. There's a TON of ads, I'm normally quite patient about that, but by the last 20 or so "paintings" I was getting an advert after every single one. There is also a massive bug for me where if the painting has too many shapes then half of them won't load so you don't get to see the final painting properly, which was really sad as that's basically the point of the game.

It was fun at first, when the pictures took a while to make, and you could upgrade a lot while doing those slow pictures, but after a while, the pictures take literally a few seconds to finish. That means you hardly get any of the points you need to upgrade. You need to complete maybe 10 pictures to upgrade 1 thing. Overall, fun at first, boring after a while.

This is a fantastic idea but executed with greed, so it takes out the fun in playing it. There is an ad when you draw in the bottom, another one when you open the quests log and another one randomly when you finish a drawing, which is pretty often. As a developer myself, this makes me sad to see. You could reward players at least for watching an ad instead of making it a punishment for playing your game for free. This is what the successful games do nowadays...

I absolutely love this game, however unfortunately some of the later free levels, in the 200s are broken. It starts drawing the picture but freezes halfway through. The pens still draw but it doesn't add anything to the picture. I will gladly change to 5 stars if this is fixed cause I know the art pieces that are broke are really well thought of and I want to see the finished product.

The game is cool and unique. I have a problem though. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is due to the excessive ads on this app. You can complete artworks pretty quick, but almost every single time you complete one you are forced to watch an ad to have it be saved. I'll complete an artwork in 10-15 seconds and get a 15-30 second ad that I'm forced to sit through. HALF MY PLAYTIME HAS BEEN ADS. Game works offline which solves this issue. Fix this to show an ad every 3-5 completions not 1-2.

I love the concept, but once you start to get a lot of stuff, it starts to glitch out A LOT. I can't finish a thing because of how glitchy it looks. There's stuff that won't even appear. It kinda ruins the whole concept because it no longer creates a beautiful picture, but a blob. If it were fixed then my rating would go up to a 5. I also see a lot of people talking about how the developer should remove ALL ads, but thats how they make money. As long as its not excessive ads, then it's okay.

This is my first negative review, ever. This game has far too many ads. It's impossible to enjoy the gameplay or feel satisfied at each achievement if you want to gain bonuses. Each time you click on a bonus, you're taken to a 15- to 30-second ad. So, if the picture you're drawing takes 20 seconds, you've actually spent more time watching an ad than playing the game. Not to mention, there is an ad after each completed drawing, and some drawings have an ad at the start. Ridiculous!

It's a good idea, but there are so many ads. Ads to get extra money when you finish a painting, and an ad anyway if you skip the extra money. The artworks are small, so once you have a good deal of upgrades, there really isn't much "idle" about the game as you have to check on it every half minute to select a new painting, or wait for the ad to be done

fun game, but I didn't like how the ads were shoved down your throat. the first 3 paintings were fine, but once you got to the fox, it gave you the option to collect a bunch of money by watching an ad, and if you clicked no, you were still forced to watch it. I always close out the game so that I don't watch it, and usually games still save your progress but not this one. you don't watch the ad, you don't get to progress. kinda b.s.. uninstalling

Great app. There's a few complaints I have: doesn't take long to finish the whole thing minus acquiring gems to get the locked content. Also there's pics missing from the last version that I really liked. Some pics fail to display properly unless you upgrade to a certain amount of pens and I like to watch a pic slowly unfold. And the biggest one is that sometimes the bonus buttons do nothing and the bonus buttons are greyed out even though I'm always connected to the internet.

An interesting concept with poor execution. 75% of the art looks like late 90's clip art. Early game ads are rewarding, but when the prices start to ramp, the rewards stop scaling. It gets to the point that watching ads becomes crucial, but you have to watch a considerable amount for it to really help. Even paying doesn't remove them, or remove the need for the need for them. Bad business, bad game. Everything they actually do well is overshadowed by frustration and disappointment.

I have sort of ruined the game for myself. I really liked watching the image unfold and guessing what it will be along the way. However I put loads of money into more pens and speed upgrades and now I finish the paintings too quickly and instead spend more time watching the adverts (which didn't bother me before). I would recommend this app but take your time with getting upgrades!

Chr. M. Jul 3, 2019

Fun for like 15min then you start watching more ads than actually "playing" which consists of clicking random buttons to make the game faster so you don't have to wait as long for the next ad. Can't store the pictures either which isn't too bad because they're not too exciting to begin with (but that is subjective of course).

Ads: the idle game. There is a banner ad on screen during a level, an option to watch an ad after each level for additional earnings, a video ad after each level if you don't choose to watch one for the earnings, and an option during a level to watch an ad for a speed boost. On top of the ads, something seems odd about the gameplay numbers. If I'm only buying $/pixel powerups, I shouldn't be earning a lot faster when I start a new level than I was at the end of the previous level, but I am.

Ros. A. Apr 8, 2019

It was fun and like most idle games you upgrade and it gets faster and you earn more money. I like the idea that its painting but when you leave, if you have started a picture it deletes your progress and i used in game cash to buy time off only to realise that it won't pain while your gone. lots of ads, you watch an ad to get money but since you have to watch ads in the first place whats the point! sometimes after watching a cash ad you don't even get any money! waste of time

Chr. S. S. Jul 21, 2019

It FORCES you to watch advertisements. You can't escape them because they are required for you to move on. It also finds other ways to frustrate you. I once closed the game then came back and noticed that the puzzle I did wasn't counted. It wanted me to do it again and it kept my spendings. This is the worst sort of time wasting.

J. M. Apr 22, 2019

It's alright for an idle game. The reason I two starred it is because of the amount of ads. Want extra cash? There is an ad for that. Don't want extra cash? There is an ad for that too. Along with the ad bar on the bottom. It would be different if the levels weren't 30ish seconds. A good game ruined. Typical with greedy devs.

Gae. M. G. Sep 4, 2021

This game has beautiful art and I find watching the images color themselves in relaxing. However, the amount of ads is ridiculously excessive. Seriously, there's an ad every few seconds of gameplay. Plus the ad for bonus cash at the end of each picture. It completely takes the emergence out of the game. This really needs to be fixed.

Lil. L. Jun 16, 2019

I'd love to give this game a 5 star rating as I love it so much - it uses a clicker type format in a unique way along with showing beautiful art upon completion of the picture. However, the reason I have to lower my rating is because multiple times I've played this game and each time i uninstall it because at some points it DELETES ALL MY PROGRESS. if the developers could fix this issue that would be highly appreciated as this is a game I really don't want to think poorly of.

Vla. J. Apr 30, 2019

interesting game concept. it's fun for a while then reality sets in and you notice the game relies heavily on ads to level up. any bonus also requires watching ads. then the last kicker, even levels without the ad logo still gets ads. if you don't mind a free game that relies on half you're life watching ads then it's a great game. otherwise skip it and play something else.

Nat. M. May 2, 2019

it wasnt bad for the first dozen levels. after that, it's way too easy to complete levels, and regardless of whether or not you choose to watch an advert for cash at the end of a drawing, an advert will play anyhow. makes it nearly impossible to play while connected to the internet. gradually you'll end up spending more time waiting for adverts to finish than you will actually playing the game.

Eld. V. May 10, 2019

The game is different, it is relaxing, it is good, and it is ruined by ads. After every single level a 20 second ad, breaks immersion and stresses me out all over again. Please fix this issue, the game is worthwhile and could easily get into the top, but this absolutely destroys it. Uninstalled for now.

Today, just now, minutes ago, Idle Painter App auto closed ; upon reopening the App, everything was gone - all crystals I had & all pictures I had drawn using the app . I have updated the app . Reopening the App - same issue . Can this be somehow fixed properly , please ?! We play this as a family and having all progress vanish into thin air is not something anyone would want . Looking forward to thorough useful feedback into having this issue resolved as to have our progress restored. Thank you

Extremely relaxing to watch and zone out. Upgrades feel rapid enough to keep interest. My only problems with the game is the amount of ads (which can be done way better with optional ad viewing for extra money or x2 speed for 15mins only), the mandatory ad levels, and the fact there is no pixel count for each level to indicate progress besides level numbers. Still worth the 5 stars tho as it's the first idle game I've found without a ridiculous grind wall.
