This app is frustrating. Listings do not reliably show their location and the maps cannot be opened, zoomed or scrolled, leaving you to guess where items are a lot of the time. You cannot contact the lister to clarify without setting up a rental. There does not appear to be any way to contact a customer service of any kind to address issues. This is a great concept, but the execution is sorely lacking.
I like the app, but when I am creating a listing i try to add pictures from my gallery that i have spent time on and it will restart the entire app making me lose the entire listing i was working on. Very frustrating and i hope you can fix this bug. Also i didn't see a place where you could search for certain renters, this would be great if the app gets popular and you can have your favorite renters saved. Edit. Please, please fix this bug with the app restarting, wasting tons of time.π
I wanted to sign up and provided my phone number so it could send a text code. I must have hit the resend button 20 times. It never sent the code.
Great idea, 1 major issue. The advertising for this app needs to be ramped up, this has great potential, place like Facebook and YouTube are great starts. But the distance between ppl seems to be too great. This needs much heavier exposure to succeed before it tanks. Please spread the word, this is great for someone that has a ton of tools sitting around that I no longer use such as myself. Advertise and tell others!
Great concept, but completely worthless app. I had hoped to make some extra money renting tools. Attempted to rent a tool locally from someone for myself just to see how it worked, however was unable to ever actually find any local tools. The app said they were close by, but then when i clicked on it they were hundreds of miles away.
Neat concept but, as usual, they steer you to register with only a typical long privacy policy and terms of service that you'd need a lawyer to understand. And the most important thing to the user, the explanation of things like "fair market value", and more, if your stuff gets stolen or broken, is well hidden. I have some really cool stuff and it's not easy to replace.
This app is a SCAM! BEWARE! I rented my tractor a few times thru this app, to a lady that lives less than a mile away from me. In total, the rentals amounted to $1785 and they have refused to pay me, even after multiple emails back and forth. I contacted the renter to let her know, and she said she would be happy to pay me in cash but her card has been charged and they refuse to refund. So she's filing a chargeback with wells fargo and once she receives the credit she can pay me in cash.
The app is fine. The problem is the lack of users in my area. I'm the only person with items to rent in 50 miles of my house. No one has requested items to rent since I installed the app months ago, and all the other listed items are too far away (200-300 miles) for me to rent them.
Awesome app. Was able to rent tools right in my neighborhood at less than a third of the price of some of the stores...much more convenient than going from place to place hoping that maybe what you need is in stock.
Great app! One big problem in app, when setting up a post you cannot save draft and there is a big where I'd I take photos from the app the app closes and I have to enter in all day via smart phone, not very exciting, other than this it been good so far
Good concept. Problem is most people in there thing their junk is worth a fortune. I saw too rental prices so high that you could go buy the same tool for two days worth of rent. Some people had reasonable prices, but not enough for me to keep the app on my phone.
I tried to rent a tiller that is in Anaheim, CA which about 20 miles from where I live but the app says the item is 1500 miles from me. However I still try to rent the tiller but the rental person probably did not input his address into the app thus preventing from renting the tiller. However, my credit card info was collected with no problems but I cannot rent the tiller after all. How frustrating. Today 7/20/20, my credit card has been fraudulently charged in the state of Florida...
It was aggrevating wouldnt let me submit item it just closed out everytime I was almost done and about to post the item it closed and went to my home screen. Its a great idea a great app but I can't get it to workπ
5 Stars just for the idea alone. You've literally created a business opportunity for everyone & anyone that just needed a stepping stone. I have a feeling that " Idle " will be putting some of the big name rental companies in it's rearview mirror over time. I know I'm excited to try and get a side gig rental thing going, through IdleI. And will DEFINITELY be taking advantage of, Free Facebook Advertising , to help promote this App. I haven't even listed anything yet, but I will. ππ
I love the concept and potential idle has. I rented a machine for a fraction of the price of the big box stores. Definitely give idle a try.
Great experience with a rental of a tool for work. It was convient to order through the app and saved me from having to purchase for single use. I would use Idle again! thanks
Good idea but not enough population that use this app. Could not find anything useful that I need to rent that is close enough. Please delete my profile I couldn't see any option to do that within the app.
The search function is useless. I search for a word and it tells me there are no results, then I see some with the exact same word buried in hundreds of other unrelated items.
Have tried a number of private browsers but this is the best one I've found. My go to private Browser. Powerful but incredibly simple to use and very secure.
I've tried over and over again to register an account, but I have never received the code it says it sent me to my SMS. No wonder there were literally zero people using this app within the thirty mile search radius.
grest idea, poor design. The app was buggy. Fix the bugs and this can be a nice app. Their ceo reached out to me. He is serious about developing this app. Update: Its 2021 and the texting system failed.
Amazing! You can easily rent out your idle stuff, or rent items you need from neighbors rather than buying something new. The possibilities are endless!! 5 π

Was looking to rent gopro for short term trip and was amazed by how this app facilitate the renting transaction. App is smooth and got what I need. Will recommend to friends.
I love the idea and I was looking forward to checking it out and renting miter saw from somebody but when I enter my phone numberit won't send me the verification code even when I hit resend it says it sent but it doesn't if you guys could help me out or get me verified I'd love to start actually using the app if you guys can take care of this I will change the review to five stars thank you
Seems to be a fatalistic attitude built into your recommendation for calculating a "fair rental rate". Using your equation of: current retail price X 12% (0.12) to establish a WEEKLY RATE, is so far off base you are almost guaranteed to generate NO interest in the product. The rate is so high, most serious renters wouldn't bother contacting anyone as it's not even a good point to start negotiations! NOBODY (who's sane) would agree to pay for the cost of a new item in 8 weeks!
I'm a lender in this app. It's good when I can earn money from equipment I haven't regularly use. Love the UI of this app as well. 5 stars for sure.

Great awesome app, only complaint is every known and then it signs me out often after closing the app. Besides that its a flawless working app and is easy to make money by renting things on!
I'll rate it with 3 it's not bad but it's not good. It's a great idea. Location limiting would be a great idea. I'm on the east coast no need for me to be seeing tools and toys and other things 1000 miles away. I would of rather seen nothing in my area or a button to list something in your area to get the word out. And when you put in nearby instead of saying "somewhere" get to locate the the center point of your search area and list a very near city or town. Good start to the app!
