IES ShapeDB

IES ShapeDB is a field tool for structural engineers. The Database contains over 18,000 structural shapes and their engineering properties. The tool can perform simple beam and column stress analysis. It is idealfor use in the field.

- Simple Beam Stress Analysis Loading from uniform and multiple point load sources. Bending stress is calculated for critical section locations. AISC Steel plastic moment and brace lengths (steel sections). Bending axis may be either strong or weak axis. o
- Column Stress Analysis Loading from axial load with eccentricities about both axes. Combined stress is calculated for critical section locations. Slenderness ratios are calculated for both axes. o
- Flexible input and output using up to 10 different unit systems. Input controls may take any unit and contain formulas. Output decimal places are easily specified.
