Been using VFR for a few years on my Android phone. App has always been stable with no inflight issues. Have used on several coast to coast flights with multiple legs. Easy to use with most features intuitive. Learning curve is short. Doesn't significantly add to pilot inflight workload. Only real negative for me is its airport taxi view capability which is aerial photo based and which is not particularly useful. App is compatible with a Dynon DRX portable ADS-B receiver. Good simple app.
I have been flying behind one for over two years. The display is bright and the buttonology is not complicated. I'm glad I switched from the big "G" product. Ifly GPS is superior at roughly half the cost.
Good stable app, intuitive and easy to use. There are lots of features to discover as you continue using the app. I'm happy to pay the annual subscription and its a valuable addition to my panel
Though it seems most other pilots I know use the other "big" app (that starts with an "F"), I never jumped on that bandwagon, partly because I'm not interested in buying an ipad just to run it. One of the best features of iFly GPS that lured me in is how it works on multiple device types, including Android. I can run it on both my Android phone and Android tablet at no extra cost, and it has all the features I desire most: georeferenced charts (vfr and ifr), ADS-B datalink, and overall ease of use. I've been using this app for several years and hope it keeps staying awesome!
Excellent App, exceptional company! While the app is visually dated, a new updated version is coming soon. Still missing helicopter charts but I'm told will be coming soon after the new release.
User friendly app with all the tools. I use a Samsung S4 and my phone as a backup. Nice to not have to get Apple products.
Been using Ifly GPS for years, went to them to use my android devices, and found the software is highly capable and reliable.
I have been using iflygps for the past 3 years and absolutely love it. It has some if not most of the se features of the big name efb's at a fraction of the cost and it has better flight planning capabilities. Input your aircraft information. Go to flight plan and put in start and destination and go and it will find the best route based on winds and fuel prices and include fuel stops.. The others do not do that.
Fantastic App! I’ve been using this for several years, and it works seamlessly with my Rangr ADSB and WAAS, and of course the tablet’s GPS if you don’t have ADSB. The default settings give you a nice moving map without having to navigate any menus, and you can also sketch on the map or an empty screen to take notes. It’s full featured for flight planning, much easier to navigate than Fore Flight, and you don’t have to use an iPad. Sorry Apple, I tried an iPad, it gets too hot, it overheats, the screen is polarized in one direction (bad for sunglasses), there’s no SD slot and everything has to be dragged through iTunes. Talk about restricting your freedom to fly. Meanwhile, with iFly GPS you can use any device you like and get great performance. It’s seems like every year new features are added, so it keeps getting better all the time.
I love this app and have used it exclusively for several years after trying Garmin Pilot. It is very stable, easy to use, intuitive, and the folks at Adventure Pilot are super nice and always ready to help if needed. I have this app on my Galaxy tablet, cell phone, and laptop and it works great on all of them. I have a Stratux ADS-B receiver in my Cardinal and the traffic and weather are a lifesaver. I'd highly recommend this app and company to pilots if they want a simpler, yet powerful copilot.
iFly is a fabulous app! I was away from flying for about eight years and when I decided to start again I found that paper charts were no longer used. I downloaded iFly for my first flight and found it very intuitive and had a lot of features. That was about six years ago and I have used it ever since. Love it!
I have had a 700 and now have a 740b. I use Ping with the 740b to get ADS-in. Everything is pretty straight forward and if I have any questions I can go to Supoort and/or YouTube for the answers. Updates are easy through WiFi. I also have a 10" Android tablet linked to iFly. I have had no issues in the last 7+ years that I have used iFly. Currently very happy.
Like Navionics for the sky! It's easy to use, has all the features and doesn't soak you for the data your taxes already paid for.
in a saturated Market with numerous applications it's really hard to know if you're getting the right application. this app does exactly what it says it does in the description. I recommend purchasing a pro version if there is or will be one. The learning curve, (acclimation) is easily accomplished and the interface is intuitive. Fantastic software!
Hands down, the best EFB for Android. I have tried em all and this is the best, by far. I will not ever own an Apple product. Ever. Without the ability to try Foreflight, I tried every other EFB available on the Android platform and iFly is the one I am keeping. Simple, clean, and has just the right amount of info. Too much gets cluttered and overwhelming when you have to prioritize flight operations. Too little and you are making an uninformed decision. iFly gets it right.
It looks good, lots of features that I was interested in, but I learned that it is for USA only, I downloaded hoping that they included some of the SW Canada. These aeronautical maps are provided for free, the developer added helpful features, like taking a very useful products made by someone else and adding some makeup and extra functions to sell it better. So you pay for that work
like it a lot. lots of features and constantly being updated with new ones. only real complaint is that sometimes when panning and/or zooming the map feature goes stupid requiring a restart. would hate to have this happen at a critical time so make sure you have a active backup source of nav information during critical phases of flight.
After testing over the 30 day trial period, I switched to iFly GPS. It works well, is intuitive and has lots of useful features. I had been using Garmin Pilot for Android for a few years, but it lacks certain features and won't work with non-Garmin devices like my Stratux. In contrast, Stratux and iFly GPS worked well with no fuss, from the start, increasing my traffic and weather awareness. Also, I noticed a glitch with iFly GPS. Customer service responded, troubleshot, fixed, and communicated the fix immediately. That is rare. iFly GPS also appears genuinely interested in fulfilling their customer wish lists, such as upcoming nav logs. So far, so good.
Totally worth the yearly subscription for a VFR pilot. I use it for cross country planning, and am very happy with it.
I've been using this app for a number of years. It's very user friendly and easy to work with. The company is awesome about keeping things updated, and are great to communicate with if you need anything. Personally I feel like it had several features that are better than foreflight, although opinions may vary. You will not regret trying it out!
Won't run at all on my android galaxy s10. Can't figure it out, no support response whatsoever. Runs ok on my ipad so its not a subscription issue its s software issue.. ..wow. UPDATE Thanks for the fast response. Apparently emails from months ago on my first inquiry into this got lost in my gmail filter. (beware of gmail) I did get a connected and they forward me that email and figured the S10+ doesn't work well with the aux SD card. so my Rating gets updated here to a 5 star. Thanks for getting back!
Outstanding! Intuitive--it's the most user-friendly aviation software on the market.
Very good tool, easy to use and reasonably intuitive. Works great on cell phone as well as my android tablet. Makes all flights quick to plan and modify as needed, with the data appropriate to situation. Tech support is also a pleasure to use.
This app is totally awesome and the support is just amazing. I use this often and as a back up. The only thing I have against it is the download sizes. My work has super fast internet and selecting 13 states took 5 hours to download with no option to back the files up. Other than that, I'm totally impressed. Thank for the hard work. A+++
Really intuitive to learn and easy to use in the cockpit. iFly GPS is much brighter than iPad, and it is visible in direct sunlight. The app can be used on iOS or Android, so you can use your phone for navigation and to provide additional information enroute or for flight planning. You will love the logic of this app.
I have the iFly 740 interfaced to the uAvionix ADS-b and our TruTrak autopilot and love it! Two years of use in hot and cold without any issues. Perfect course and waypoint transition and clear alerts to traffic and terrain. Great products and support in setting up our install.
I've been using ifly for several years, first with the ifly 720 then moved over to tablet with the app. It does everything I need. ADS-B interfaces to my Stratux flawlessly with traffic and NEXRAD weather. Flight planning is a breeze using altitude planning.
The best EFB on Android and Windows for flying in the U.S. Very good pricing compared to Foreflight. I don't like Apple products and will never purchase them. I would love to see more features in next updates.
