Like everyone is saying, the app has been ruined. Most importantly to me, I can no longer see any videos that I save/bookmark for later viewing - I'm not even asking for an offline mode - I just want to make note of and later view all the articles/videos I'm interested in, but they just no longer show up in my account despite "saving" when I long-press on them. Yet all those ads miraculously have no problem loading up before any video I do manage to play. Awful.

I should have looked at the comments. Unfortunately I can't even properly rate the app as it jumps to a "what's new" pop-up window at launch and I can't get out of it. I hit the "let's-a-go" button to presumably close the window, but nothing happens. Not a good look. Deleting.

The ads are so touch sensitive that even scrolling past them opens them in a separate web browser. Makes reading the articles almost impossible. Can't sign in and can't comment. Articles glitch out all the time.

Downloaded the app because I remembered that I could view walkthroughs and guides in an older version. Now though, all I get is a link to view the game's page on the website. As such, this app is now completely worthless to me. Uninstalled.

This app was great. But since latest update got terrible. Everytime you go into an article and go back, it takes you to the start of the feed, not the point you were, so you have to scroll all the way down to that poin everytime. So annoying and useless. The playback options for videos were better before. Categories were better organized before. Also, it's interface design in general terms was better. I stop using the app as much as I used to. I'd rather go to youtube.

The app has always been buggy but for the most part I could look past that. With the new redesign, however, every problem seems to be enhanced to the point it's unusable. Their video playing software is somehow worse. When you leave an article, it brings you back to the top of the app, regardless of how far down you were scrolling. Reviews don't show the score. No top trending page. No search bar. Missing articles from what's on their actual website. Would go on but review = 500 character limit.

The more I use it, the worse it seems to be getting. Like many the app was fine, then it received a big redesign. At first I had a pretty good experience. Then came the login issues, the scrolling issues, and today? The constant auto-play of videos (which cannot be turned off) keeps leaving me with a notification player that does not disappear. Very frustrating, I do expect better.

Just going to be direct.... This app is now absolute trash since the new rework. It absolutely baffles me, not only who designed this, but furthermore who oversaw it and at the end of the day right "yep, that's the sweet spot". I mean it's utterly terrible. The "let's go" button didn't work at all, you have to been out of the page. There is no search function at all, if you're looking for a specific game or media. I could go on and on with more. Absolute garbage. Uninstalled

I honestly never take the time to review an app, however I felt obliged to with IGN, I literally love the content that these guys produce have done for over 8 years, always been a huge fan of the app opening it at least one a day. That all changed when the recent update came a good few months ago, and for some reason changed the design of the app to a worse one that doesn't even function properly most of the time. I tried to open it this evening and it just keeps crashing. Revert back to the old

The update info keeps popping up when I load the app and doesn't close when I tap the "Letsa Go!" Button. I have to tap the back button on my phone to get it to close. I can no longer share articles. When I bookmark articles I cannot find how to retrieve them. I can not log into my account. When exiting an article it sends me back to the very top (very annoying). All of these are new issues that occurred after the update.

This app frequently has problems. Ads will play fine but the video you want to watch doesn't. Using the app in bed is impossible, as you get stuck in an endless loop of switching between landscape video and what you're trying to read. It'll remember you were watching a video, and you go to a different article and flip it sideways, it goes back to trying to play the previous video. It's a terrible experience and causes more hassle than it's worth.

really poor app. videos do not play in full on my galaxy note 9. filters do not work, eg under movies, new game releases appear, same on TV shows. select option to see rating scores without going in to story and they do not appear. the amount of adverts you have to sit through is ridiculous. if I'm in a rush and need to just view a clip, it's not possible due to adverts. I ended up using other sites that were glitch free and worked well.

I've used this app for years, on multiple phones, and never had major issues. With the update, you can longer share articles, the how to use the app screen won't disappear, so you have to press the back button to get to stories, since the okay button isn't working. Various photos don't seem to load right.

Been using the app for close to 5 years now. It has always done its job and I had little complaints. The new ui update got rid of a lot of features and like search. Also what's more annoying now is there is no way to stop videos from automatically playing. You click on something that looks like an article for some video or ad to start blasting in an instant. At first I thought maybe I clicked on a video but I scroll down and no its an article. Roll ui back to old one please.

Newest update is a massive step backwards; most functionality is lost, and the app itself is rife with bugs. By far the greatest downgrade is the reduction categories for browsing. With no delineation amongst categories, it is a slog to browse through 20 articles about tech deals, and find one meaningful piece of news. Honestly, needs a full rollback or complete redesign. Don't know what they were thinking.

The app just seems to get worse over time. Links often don't work. The "deals" pages don't show the codes or sometimes even the deals themselves. The new layout leaves alot to be desired. When I first downloaded the app a few years ago, it looked a bit dated but everything worked great. Now it looks modern, but nothing works.

Last update broke the app. Every time I launch the app I get stuck on a "What's new" pop up screen with 3 slides showing a summary of new features. Clicking the "Let's-A-Go" button just shifts back to second slide. What donkey designed THAT interface? All I can do is tap on the screen and it goes back and forth between the 3 slides. Nothing closes it and I've tried re-installing the app. Seriously IGN, did nobody do any testing on this update? Especially during E3 announcements. BROKEN.

This app has never been good. Buggy performance, constant video ads, no way to sort the content you want (articles, videos, other offerings) causing me to use far more mobile data than necessary. But now with the latest update I can't even open the app without it crashing. This has been a post update issue before, but I can no longer use it. It is frustrating enough that the effort to get it to work is just not worth it. Visit the webpage or download an app from a different site.

The old app was way better. The new app is slow and laggy, doesn't show you that it's actually refreshing the page when you swipe down from the top, doesn't have the top featured stories, the dates on the articles are wrong & most of them always say "yesterday", it autoplays videos when I'm using data, and the app crashes. And stop changing your comment section over and over. And switch back to the 20 point review scale. What a joke.

I'm pretty sure this is the worst official app I've ever used. The articles specifically about a new photo often don't actually show the photos in the app, or an article will just open but not actually show any content, or a link to a tweeted photo or video will just be plain text and not a clickable link. And half the time, the app itself just crashes when trying to open. I would expect that a company that is based around technology, gaming, and video content would have a decent app, but no.

Terrible update. App is now useless, the videos won't play or play with no audio and it will only let you scroll down the page so far so you can't finish reading the article or get the review score, it constantly crashes with freezing or force closes, I'll give it a week to see if they can fix it if not its uninstall for good this time. Last update that's been out for about a month broke the app and they're showing no sign of fixing it. Like others have said, loads slow, after viewing an article it puts you back at the top so you have to scroll back down to where you were, app constantly acts like it's the first time being used, crashes a lot and review scores don't load along with articles not loading proper in general from time to time. Do not reccomend. Older version worked and looked much much better.

Used to love the app and would check it daily but since the new update it has gone severely down hill. Everything that was great about the app is now gone and the interface is terrible, it's almost like stepping back 5 years for functionality. Hopefully they take the feedback and fix it otherwise it'll be time to move on. I wouldn't bother downloading it in it's current state.

Definitely better on Website than app. I didn't pay attention to when this happened, but now on most articles that have deals or links, nothing will show up anymore. When I browse on website there is no problems and everything is there including deals and links, but on the app it will be blank. It will say what the item is, but there will not be a price or link. Some videos do not appear they just have a black screen on app, but on browser they work fine.

The old design/ui is better, I barely go on ign anymore cause of the latest update and I previously would go on daily. Problems: 1. No short description under article headers that tells you what the article is about or it lacks information and it's usually a joke written there. 2. No dark mode in 2021 is absolutely unacceptable and astonishing. 3. Clicking back button after finishing an article takes you all the way back to the top of page. 4. Scores aren't being shown/visible. Please fix it

Have been using this app for a few years without any major problems, although it was never a great experience. A recent update has made the app incredibly laggy, stories frequently don't load, and there is no option to opt-out of videos entirely! I can only opt-out while using data. While I never really liked IGN and their app was/is sub-par, when it comes to gaming journalism they are one of the best in terms of coverage. I'll be looking for something new now.

The interactive maps are unusable. Try selecting anything listed below the default markers. As soon as you try and scroll the list, the interface will react as if your panning the map. This was the only reason I checked this app out for. On further checking iut the apps other 'features': This app is less user friendly than any of the internet browsers available today. It focuses on one site only, and then makes it a terrible browsing experience. It's one of the most obsolete apps ever made.

The app is doing a lot better now! No more audio bugs and the ads aren't out of control! But I do wish it would save my place when I viewed an article. It's super annoying to have to school through everything each time. Fix that and this app is well on its way to five stars!! Sidenote: there should be a dark mode for viewing and there should be a way to expand your feed! Like let us choose from categories to personalize our feeds with what we like.
