„IKARUS TestVirus“ contains the "EICAR Standard Anti-Virus Test File"*. This is known by all professional anti-virus solutions and they should treat it like a real virus.
The app can be used to see if and how your security app works in case of an infection: Your security solution should warn you of an infection and block or delete the file.
The security app IKARUS mobile.security shows the note “IKARUS TestVirus” when detecting the file. Other anti-virus solutions may show different names for the app or just classify it as common malware.

Very useful, every android user should test their antivirus software and this makes it easy to do. Excellent
McAfee detected it from installation and as sonn as the download finished Device Maintenance warned me "Thread detected" and immediately told me to uninstall app. it is pretty good to test antivirus and completely not harmful.
Nice app to test Android Security suite. My Avast Pro instantly detected it and uninstalled it from phone.

Unfortunately shophos didn't detect this application neither did my phones built in solution, now I know I need a new antivirus solution 👍
Awesome testvirus. • Bitdefender and McAfee detected it. But, "Google play protect" didn't detected.

Hello all. I have two security apps on my phone. Out of the two apps only one detected the security risk. And that one app was Malewarebytes. The other app ( AndroHelm Antivirus ) a $100 piece of software did not detect it . Thankyou. I will uninstall AndroHelm right now.
Both my antiviruses (Avast and my inbuilt samsung security) passed the test. Thanks for making this app! Now I can rest in peace knowing that I have 2 good antiviruses.
When i tried the web version avast web shield immediately blocked it i before i can see any of the installation button and when i tried the google play store my built in antivirus (macafee) blocked it but even if it it did not detected it avast realtime protection (auto scan)would detect it as it automaticlly scans everything i download so yeah this is too outdated.(2nd review)I think the reason google play protect did not detect it is because it is not executed or it is still compressed
