IMb Scanner

I had to discover and accept that my tablet camera has at least varying brightness across any plane, even with the tablet light. Probably varying focus and lack of stability as well for a tablet camera. That's hardly the fault of IMb Scanner. When I learned I don't need to be so close that the barcode fills any camera plane then it did what was described.

Does the work of deciphering and parsing the info. Would be great if it had autofocusing ability and was able to perform better in low light. Would be great also, to have the scan history saved. Despite it needing these improvements, I find it useful. Nice effort.

It works in perfect lighting conditions. Focus is slow to respond to screen tap. Doesn't handle barcodes when one bar is lighter than the others. The work around is to retouch lighter ones with pencil. Keep iterating. Test on real letters on dark and stormy nights.

So far, so good, provides clear info. When you get the barcode on screen, tap the screen to get it to focus and read. (I think the on screen instructions should tell you to tap, otherwise it might seem like it isn't working)

Tried it on a dozen different pieces of mail and it worked perfectly! It was a little slower with faint dot-matrix printed bars that USPS writes on envelops, but by tilting the envelope, it worked. Thanks for the app!!

2 of about 10 tried successful. Usually just focuses (though sometimes this didn't happen until i placed text in the box, first) and then did nothing. Moved around. no effect. Tried with flashight and w/o. No help nor FAQs that i cold find

Does exactly what it is supppsed to do! Quickly and accurately reads US Post Office Intelligent Mail Barcodes, and provides you with the service type identifier (STID), the Mailer ID, the barcode serial number. the Zip+4, and the DPV. I'm using it every day at work to verify barcodes, it has never been inaccurate.

Did not work. Couldn't scan a freshly printed barcode. Focus is horrible making it impossible to scan anything. Does work on extremely large codes on a computer but not for practical use of barcodes, like on envelopes.

It works with my Samsung Galaxy S20. Nice to check barcodes on our mailings. On my old phone, I had a different version (by Atos I think), which would go to the Post Office and give me the address - a nice feature to have

Only one star because it won't focus using my S6 Nougat, therefore it can't read the IMb code on my sample envelope ( pre-printed from AARP). Am certain the software is capable, just not right now on my phone. Will await next version and try it again.

Does not scan ANY IMB barcodes I try. Does this app only work on specific devices? I see others have no luck as well, what is your advice developer? Why does it do nothing for many of us? What are we missing and what research into this obvious issue have you done in an effort to resolve it?

The best tool to get a quick IMb barcode decoded and shared with others. There's no better alternative in the Android ecosystem, and not even on the Apple App Store. Thanks, developer!

Does nothing at all! Keeps asking to place the IMB in the window. Then ZILCH. Also fails to focus on the view.

Nice app that accurately reads IMBs. There are no apps there in market that can read IMB barcode . Many promise to do so. But so far nothing has worked. This one does work and even breaks down read value into parts. That is very nice.

I did try to contact the developer directly through email to correct the problem I had with the app not working. It directed me to the developer wanting to have access to all of my information, just so I can email him?! I don't think so!

Great app. It read properly and very fast barcodes from envelopes. Will also provide extra information if it is available. Thanks.

Gret App! Thanks for publishing. We handle alot of direct mail and its a great tool to translate what is in the barcode for outbound mail and return envelopes

The camera would not focus in on the bar code. Even tapping the screen to get focus didn't work.

Did exactly what I needed. I started data merging my barcodes in indesign. This helped me know for sure that my data was encoded the same as it used to be.

Problem with displaying the MID. Displayed the MID as only 3 digits. Probably because there are 3 zeroes at the beginning of this particular MID.

This app works as advertised, as an ebay seller trying to save on postage, this helps as a reference to the mail I am sending out!

This works very good, I would like a pro version that let you scan multiple codes and provide you with a CSV list after that!!

So far this app is working just fine for me. It gives a pretty comprehensive breakdown of the barcode. I like it!

Waste of time. Does nothing even when the barcode is well lit and clearly in focus.

It is next to impossible to use. Can't trigger camera. No use instructions are available that I can find. Worse app ever.

Works to tell me what the codes say, but often slow & awkward to use.

very fast and scans bad fonts like those with dots without a problem.
