Great app. No ads. Extremely configurable; I currently use it for the Couch to 5K training program and I can easily configure sets for the program. It can be set up to speak the name and number of the set, for example "*3 warning beeps* Run 2" for the second repeat of the Run segment. It works flawlessly with the default Google music app, lowering the volume of the music for the alert. My only suggestion is to make the "Start workout" button more obvious - on my phone there is just a message to make the app full-screen which you have to tap to get to the Start button.
App is great and flexible. The only downside are a few old bugs, like not immediately quiting while showing empty background of the app, and some weirdness I noticed recently when the timer is running the digits gradually and slowly getting smaller until they are barely visible (you have to look at phone no more than three feet away, otherwise it's so small to see). The digits shrinking could be related to font issues, but it's kinda strange. If devs could resolve these issues, it would be neat.
All in all amazingly program. Works out of the box. For this I'd give 5 stars IF it had a few more configurable options. Wish more control over sounds on timers. Countdown timer I wish to only countdown before next WORK session. I don't want the countdown for the rest. Also I wish the possibility to have some sounds completely off. But if you select "none" at the custom settings it reverts back to default instead of none.
Was directed here from a review on another app. Wasn't disappointed and seems to do everything I need and plays nice with the Google play music app. Sounds/alerts initially didn't work but my music would mute when the alert was supposed to be playing. Discovered that the System Volume slider in Android (Note9) was all the way down which is what caused it. Might seem obvious to me now but it caught me out! We'll see how it travels on my runs but so far so good.
Upgraded to Android 9 phone (Moto G7). Impetus VOLUME IS VERY LOW no matter what I set the volume levels to. Can't hear it. It used to work fine on older Android 7 phone. I think it might be bc of the Dolby Audio "feature" which I can't disable. I noticed the media volume setting jumping around while the impetus app is running. And I couldn't keep the volume on high. Please fix. Would be 5 stars otherwise. Thanks!
Has a ton of functions and programmability, can toggle alarm vibration, toggle whether alarm sounds use media stream, works with locked screen, etc., etc.... The interface is clean and easy to navigate, the settings are well organized. There's no "please buy upgrade" nagging you, no ads. My overall user experience is just very pleasant. Will definitely buy Plus version to show my support!
Good timer app. No ads. You can create very custom workouts. I bought the pro unlock to migrate all my workouts between phones and support the dev. Has options for custom sounds to indicate new exercise or a voice announcing the exercise (or both). Sometimes the settings confuse me (I didn't realize I had the countdown disabled so "Next Interval" didn't work). I use it to exercise while listening to podcasts and the amount of sound control prevents it from disrupting my listening.
I am using this as a productivity timer throughout the day. What I like: - It does not require any clicking to start another interval What I don't like: - When using standard alert sounds, their volume can only be set system-wide with other notification sounds. It is particularly bad because Impetus timer notifications are much louder than, for example, IM notifications and they disturb everyone around. Hence 4 stars instead of 5. - Max total time is less than 16 hours, which is a bit limiting. Using 8 hours and restarting the timer once a day is not a big deal though.
I use this app for physiotherapy timed hold and release exercises. Its absolutely perfect. Simple to set up, doesn't need any device permissions (contacts, network etc, which oddly some other timers i tried ask for!) With the audio cues and voiced count downs you don't need to watch the phone so can do the exercises while watching TV (I need a lot of physio!)
Used this app for years but not recently until today. For some reason the big time readout counting down work/rest time remaining reduces in size over the first minute until it's no longer readable making the timer basically useless. I'm sure this must be a software issue as if it's a decision choice it's nonsensical. But having reinstalled the app and searching through the options I can't stop it happening.
This has been my go-to app for workouts since 2013\14. I love it! I've been able to transfer Workouts between my last 4 phones! I don't think it's updated anymore, but still works perfect on Android 11, Motorola 5G Stylus.
I have used the application for years but I was a bit confused about it lately. The application suddenly stopped working on its own after one or two timers, I don't know why, the settings are the very same, I didn't change anything at all. I wonder if the application clashes with the alarm app, but I'm not sure. May I ask if you guys have any answers for this situation? Thank you.
seems like a decent app so far, I like being able to create custom runs with warmup, work and cooldown. but I paid for the premium and I cant seem to find a music app that will allow me to use a playlist for music.. I'm not to happy about that
More functionality than any other timer app I've used and it's free, no-permissions, no-ads, and no in-app purchases. Not as flashy looking as a lot of similar apps, but I prefer the simple aesthetic.
Easy adaptability and use. I can customize my workouts as per my requirements. I am using it for 3 years and I have yet to find any app better designed than this. Kudos development team.
Great app, very convenient and customizable. I'd only wish that it affects"media" volume, not the "ring" volume, as it is right now.
Really like the app, use it all the time in the clinic. One thing I would like to see changed. The colours should be changed so that work time is green and rest time is red. My clients want to stop when they see red and go when they see green.
I have been using this timer for a long time with no problems, now suddenly the app is reconfiguring my workouts on its own and I have to fight with it every time I do a workout to get it back to how I previously set it. In fact, I just finished a workout and it wiped out half my timers in that workout so if I want to do that one again I have to reset it and it takes forever for it to set to what I want it to be.
When you put the volume control icon back on the timer face also please separate the volume controls for the workout and count down timers like they used to be when it had the little bell icon at the top for the volume control. Removing this has ruined a good timer.
Scriptable interval timer that allows multiple series with varying number of repetitions. Interface is a bit awkward and not in line with android guidelines imho.
Basic good workout timer with many features. Biggest weakness is after working on a complicated routine often it gets reset too blank which is problematic otherwise 5 stars
Hello, very satisfied with the app but recently the app stops frequently and then abnormally shuts down. It happens especially while switching to another app
One of the best All-Around Workout Timer, been using the Free Version for Years, does what I need. Bought the Licensed Version to show support and thanks.
Excellent timer, audible tones even when listening to music. Built several of my own workout timers, overall works well. Only downside is that recently, my timer size has started to shrink every interval until it is almost unreadable. The font size of the timer shouldn't change at all. Can't figure out how to make it stop.
