Android app. I have a set of paper charts that come with a link code. The app will not let me view them (though it does list it under my subscriptions), just keeps telling me to purchase the appropriate chart. The app itself does not run smoothly and the screen flickers when it's running. Overall my experience has not been great and I would be unable to recommend it to anyone, including for planning purposes only.

Android. It's a great app! I like it especially as the electronic charts are identical to my Imray paper charts; I much prefer this than using Navionics, for example. One system keeps it simple. Fantastic value for money when you consider the huge number of charts that are included in each chart set! On the downside, the charts don't always merge seamlessly. And like other reviewers, the ability to download and store charts to an SD Card would free up a huge amount of internal storage space.

Consistently unable to do anything with this app. Set up account and downloaded trial charts twice but it keeps saying error. Shame really because their paper charts and folio packs are excellent. Was hoping to give this app a go whilst bringing a boat back from Wales but looks like I'm staying with paper and Garmin. Update: Looks like the problem was with my software, which is now resolved. Imray have been super helpful and understanding trying to sort it with me, can't fault them.

Unfortunately there is no option to store the chart downloads on my device's SD card storage. When I initially downloaded English Channel each section was just under 300Mb and I could only squeeze West & Central onto my device. After the recent chart update each section is nearly 600Mb. This makes it impossible to download more than one of the 3 sections I'm subscribed to, making it useless for practical purposes. The charts themselves seem clear and faithful to original paper versions.

I'm fairly happy with the App for Android and it seems to have become more stable over the various iterations. One key concern though is the amount of storage it takes up without the ability to move the data files to an SD card. Well at least I can't find a way to do it, but its possible my Googlefu isn't up to scratch in trying to find the answer.

This app is very poor. It is certainly not good enough to use to navigate a boat. The most serious failing is that it forces you to download updates before you can use it. This is clearly only possible if you have wifi access at the time. I have had to give up using it as i can no longer download updates at all, i get a "download failed" message with no further information. I have, of course, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, only to see the same error.

This obviously isn't intended as something to rely on to actually navigate but it's handy for checking things when planning etc. Given this, it's a bit annoying it insists on checking for updates every time it starts up. It's also really annoying it can't store the charts on a SD card but has to use the phone storage.

This could be a nice app but the developers must stop it zooming out to world view all the time (e.g. if the screen is rotated or the menu is requested). Please fix this. Also it would nice if the thickness and the colour of planned courses could be changed in the settings menu). Otherwise it could be great. Many of us prefer the raster imray charts to digital offerings such as Navionics.

Not even at Beta stage. Too many issues to cover here. I couldn't create a route using either of two up to date android devices. My subscription didn't show in playstore, or Google pay. The app doesn't show in device settings. My registration email link wouldn't work. No manual for android. Zoom out on chart non existant. 9 miles in landscape is zoomed fully out More a zoomable than a raster chart. The data is the same it just gets bigr Keeps defaulting to world view... A lot of screen pinching!

Unable to log on to the app, even though I have an account with Imray that I can log on to outside the app via the internet. however, for some reason the app logs on by pressing the Google icon with no name or password requested. My subscriptions are shown correctly and can be very slowly downloaded, but don't show on the map. Waypoints can be generated, but not deleted. For some reason delete goes to Email. Given up!

Some good features but needs significant development to compete with Marine Navigator. Charts are very clear. However route planning facility is a bit jerky and individual route points can freeze when editing. For serious use it needs a night mode and this needs to be much better than the iPad version which just slightly dims the screen. Needs to give a black background like MN and car sat navs. Also needs ability to use external Bluetooth GPS for longer battery life and an AIS module

Happy with this app, especially as I had a free voucher for a chart when I bought my copy of the East Coast Pilot published by Imray. I had a few problems initially but they were sorted very promptly by the support team. A useful back up for paper charts and a chart plotter. Note that these charts are raster not vector charts.

Will the reset to global outline be rectified before June 2021? This appears to occur after most events, such as route planning and is extremely frustrating even sat at home, never mind when pitching about at sea! This appears to be a backward step from previous versions. Overall the app is very useful, but such a major user difficulty means star rating has to be low for now.

I've used the Imray app on Ipad for many years and it's wonderful. The android version is rubbish. So many faults but in particular you can't show tidal currents. What's the point of a navigation app that doesn't give you tides. My initial 1 star review may have been a bit harsh and 'dissapointing' may be a better word than 'rubbish'. However I would not have paid £25 for an Imray subscription if I had realised that this app is at such an early stage of development.

I have now installed this on my CAT S61 and purchased maps pertinent to where I actually sail. At first glance the maps fo appear to be faithful to the paper ones. An irritation is where there is a glutch in the zoom level between maps. with paper charts this is expexted but it appears the stitching has come loose on the digital ones. I will test them further over the next few weeks.

Gave this app a one-star rating yesterday (Sunday) which was completely unfair. There was a glitch in my subscription which meant I couldn't access the chart. Customer services sorted it out today and everything's hunky dory. The app is excellent for planning purposes which is why I subscribed in the first place.

A super little stand by app. Excellent clear and detailed charts, this app is self explanatory and easy to use. The customer support service is helpful and friendly. Very pleased and would recommend this.🙂👍👍 Used this now all through the summer and I am very pleased with it, well worth the price. I also have the excellent Imray tide app.

Like others have found, it is frustrating to use as chart resets to global outline and the current vectors don't display. I will wait until the app works as well on Android as it does on iOS. As a result I have removed it for now.

After help with the voucher code loaded and works well. But limited functionality and not very intuitive

Bri. M. Oct 4, 2019

Unable to login. Used to hang on a blank screen after clicking login. After contacting customer support, eventually getting a reply and waiting another few weeks, now I enter my login details before it hangs on a blank screen again.

I cannot praise the support staff highly enough. They have been extremely helpful and patient with an elderly sailor who is new to electronic charts. Provides all I need for pottering around the South coast

The. B. Jun 14, 2020

I bought the East Coast chart download in March for twenty quid per year, which I think is reasonable as its the same cost as the annual OS subscription. It's now June and the app is telling me that my chart subscription has now expired. 2 months use for 19.99? Rip. Imray should be ashamed of themselves.

Pet. D. May 16, 2019

Very slow to react to moving the cursor and scaling up or down and sectors missing details in lower rooms. In general a frustrating experience.

I love this app. Having to re zoom every time is the only tiny negative, but I do rate it 5* as its great to have on the phone when busy and single handed!

wont even install on my Samsung tablet so installed on an ipad instead, where it works OK. It's got a long way to go though to catch up with Navionics and ease of use.

Access to imray charts. Good navigation facilities. Use it as a back up to my plotter on a tablet.
