In My Shoes

An interactive 24 hour experience to immerse yourself in some of the challenges that people with Crohn's or Colitis face every day.

Crohn’s & Colitis UK have teamed up with pharmaceutical company Takeda UK to create In My Shoes: 24 Hours with Crohn’s or Colitis - an immersive app that will allow people without the conditions to experience first-hand what it’s like to have Crohn’s or Colitis.

From depleting energy levels to managing pain, from rushing to the toilet to juggling work and a social life, the app will allow friends and family to see first- hand how the condition can affect every part of your body, and every aspect of your life.

Don’t worry - after 24 hours they can return to their normal lives. But they’ll do so with a deeper understanding and appreciation of what you have to go through each and every day.

Although the concept is good. I tired it out before asking my boss to try it (I have Colitis) and it only works if you keep the app open. As soon as you close the app (still running in background) you do not get any notifications. When you open it you suddenly get all your missed notifications which defeats the purpose of the app.

Notifications don't appear although I've changed phone settings to allow them. Disappointed the app doesn't work properly. I'm having to check it every 10 minutes or so in case the next task is there. If notifications worked I'd give this app 10/10 Maybe the issue is with my Huawei phone? Notifications work for other apps though

Downloaded this app and set my alarm for 11ak the next day and never got anything for tasks. I opened the app and it wouldn't let me do anything it said I had to wait for my reminder alarm. A week went by and nothing happened which was a bummer. I wish it would've worked so that I could've actually used it!

As a person with Crohn's, I would say the tasks are accurate. My only complaint is that even with the notification settings turned on, I'm not getting any alerts for the tasks.

i love this app, I have Ulcerated colitis and it has helped me understand my illness a bit better! just wish the pain percentage started at 100% though as i woke up with a bad flare up! i would recommend this app for anyone wanting to know more about ibd.

I used the app to see how my daughter deals with the condition through her day, it was very informative and quite the eye opener. Well done.👍

I have crohns so it's good to identify the symptoms but would be better if the symptom notifications were more realistic time wise. I can need the facilities 20+ times a day!

The idea behind this app is superb because it opens people's eyes and minds to the fact that IBD isn't just a dodgy stomach. 👍👍👍

Brilliant app to give people an idea exactly what it is like living with these diseases! I just wish I could turn my Crohn's off after 24 hours like the app!

App did nothing after set-up. Just kept saying to wait for first task indefinitely.
