I recently tried using this after not using it all winter and the updates have made it really difficult to use on Android. I try to select an image to upload and the screen turns completely black/crashing after picking "select image" option. I often use multiple images for an proper ID of plants and this bug makes it where I struggle to upload even one photo. I otherwise really love this app. Please try and fix the bugs for Android!

I really enjoy this app, but for its purpose it's very lacking. It's wonderful when the app recognizes the species exactly and it's likely true and maybe a knowledgeable member also confirms. However, it doesn't teach the average use much. For a lot of the species, quality photos that display key identifying features do not exist. We could benefit so much if the suggested species profile also stated certain key identifying features eg flower characteristics, leaf shape, bud arrangement, etc.

Easy and fun to use, like a real life pokedex! It's nice knowing what the plants and animals I see every day are called. And when I travel I can learn about new species I see. I haven't encountered any problems uploading photos. The browser version has a cool map and a way to see how you compare to other users.

Overall, a very good app for nature enthusiasts - but can be frustrating at times if species are identified incorrectly by other non-scientific users. With so many sub-species of plants and animals being discovered almost weekly, reported on by reliable media, I'd prefer to wait for scientific verification, rather than have guesses made by others in the community. Aussie marsupials for example, often wrongly identified as they appear similar to others, yet not verified scientifically.

Rating 3 stars because: The app glitches with the date and time mostly always lately. It says that the observation was one day ahead, puts the time as one hour before and says AM. Majority of my observations are PM. I've gone into a post and manually changed the date and time only to go back into the app a while later to find it's reverted back to the incorrect time and date. Please correct this issue. Thank you.

Works really well to document the biodiversity in your area. The AI works well for mushrooms as long as the underside and top of the cap are both visible in the first photo. The AI works well for plants as long as both flowers and leaves are visible in the first photo.

Useful and fun community science app. I just wish I could see the state borders easier in the US. It's hard to navigate the map at all.

Upload issues in the most recent version. Uploads get stuck between "Uploading" and "Waiting to upload".

The ability to reorder the photos is missing from the app since latest update; other than that works fine.

I love iNaturalist, but this app is buggy and still only rarely loads any photos of past records. For me that makes it not very usable.

Great for adding observations. Sometimes it's best to edit them or add detail from a computer later.

Easy to use. Love being able to contribute as a naturalist to document presence and numbers of local organisms. Love that experts confirm or suggest new species for my photo. A favorite app of mine! Especially excellent is the ease of taking pictures of an organism at the moment I am attempting to ID them. I love the AI photo comparisons and knowledge base of this site. Most of the time these comparisons and aid suggestions in relation to my photos are either accurate species matches or close

Its good, but it would be really helpful if you could upload video as well, as some animals move too fast for a photo. That way, you may also get their calls recorded.

I like the App for what it is, but having seen the Apple version i can't help but be disappointed in what's offered on Android.

I love this app! It is so fun, and there are so many observations and organisms! There are some problems though. Randomly when I click on another person's observation, it restarts and brings me to my observations! And when I click on an observation within a person's profile, it brings me to the first one I looked at instead.

iNatty is my favorite app. I love everything about it except the android version can be buggy and lags like crazy

Indispensable. I use this app mainly for bird ID after I've been out spotting. I've only recently started interacting with more features, the website and the Forum. Love it.

This is one of my favorite apps! I've already learned about a lot of new species in my area and elsewhere. I love that I can contribute to science while having fun on a photo safari. Gotta "catch" them all!

Good app but performance is bad. iNaturalist is not responding! Very hard to browse observations.

But of a learning curve, but such an amazing resource for identification and connecting with professionals and amateurs alike

I love it!! Has served me well over the past year. It is a little buggy... (ha ha ha), I have never experienced any crashes (using the S8+), but find that some of my pictures have disappeared from the app. When I check my profile on the website they're all there. Also when I upload several photos to an observation and edit them, and then "make 1st" or delete one of the photos, all of the edits disappear. Still a great app though.

The iNaturalist project is absolutely awesome for anyone who likes to record their wildlife sightings or wants help identifying the animals, plants, etc. that they see. The Android app is kind of buggy and clunky, but still worthwhile. It performs very poorly on slow internet connections (worse than other apps), and the "Explore" feature is unusable on older phones due to constant crashes. I wish I had more time to make proper bug reports, but I don't. The developers are usually very responsive.
