Easy to use, up to date information, manages my choices easy, provides great features.
The website works better. I tried to buy a book and it wouldn't let me view or add things to my cart. I tried to buy plum+ and it didn't work, but when I tried again it said I already purchased it. I can't add anything to a wishlist because it says it's unavailable. May as well buy from Amazon, bc it's a lot easier and less annoying, despite some differences in pricing.
Doesn't show things most relevant to your search, doesn't prioritize best sellers or newer books. If you're looking at a promotion and trying to find the exclusions you have to keep scrolling through every item that's included in the sale because there's no way to keep it from loading when trying to read the bottom of the screen. Nothing like the in-store search systems.
Loved this app until they did something to it that broke the wishlist functionality. You cannot add anything to or access your wishlist within the app (still can in browser). EDIT: May 2021 Uninstalled the app. It's been over a year, wishlist still hasn't been fixed. This was a pretty important service for me as I'd use it to save items to purchase later on. Indigo customer service told me they were aware of the issue and were working on fixing it but it seems the solution was to just give up.
Absolutely useless if you want to buy something. You cannot login/checkout to make your purchase at all. Once you select checkout and login you're sucked into an endless loop of 'captcha photo verification'. No matter how many you complete it correctly it will tell you to try again, making it impossible to move onto the checkout process. The app overall for viewing items is great, besides the fact you can't login or buy anything. Even after a recent app (Oct) update you can still not checkout.
This app keeps getting worse and it's almost comically bad at this point. I just tried to make a purchase but the next screen kept loading over and over and I wasn't allowed to complete my purchase. I am unable to view my wishlist. When I try to search for something I have to click the menu multiple times until it loads properly. The fact that they haven't even tried to fix this app is extremely disappointing.
The app is fairly slow. It's decently laid out. The fact that it takes you out of the app to view order history and account details is enough to drop it to 3 stars. That's just stupid. Also, the captcha is insane. The looping photos that reappear wastes so much time. And then it doesn't work.
Couldn't be more disappointed, completely frustrating experience. Have to sign in with every use, can't view my wish list on a single page, gift lists gone, can't check into a store unless I'm in the store, can't close the app from the home page. I used to use the app on a daily basis, I haven't used it since my original try at the download.
Used to love it, now I can't even use it. Everytime I try to log in and check out, it always shows a captcha where you have to choose various images that they ask you to, but everytime it pops up I'm sitting there for 20 minutes doing this, selecting images, with no end in sight. The only way I can order my books now is through the desktop site. Which completely defeats the purpose of the app!
Useless. This new version crashes constantly. I used to use the Indigo app regularly. I used to actually buy books using the app. Now, with this "new and unimproved" version I can't use it for more than 60 seconds before it crashes. It is slow as molasses, then it crashes. Thank goodness Amazon has a decent app that works flawlessly.
The app itself seems to do its job on a basic level. It is the online storefront for Indigo. You can take a look at all their products, and check their in-store availability. Buying things becomes a touch more difficult, especially when the app struggles to allow accounts to be signed into. Since new updates have been implemented, I have not been able to sign in to the app. Signing in to the website works just fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and that does not work either.
Good for a basic searches, but it's no different than doing so in your Internet browser. My issue was that after signing into the app, I thought I'd see my shopping cart with the items I'd picked while on my PC but that info does not carry over to the app. So it means reloading your cart which I think is pointless if the app is meant to help with that when you don't have a computer present.
My issue with not just the app, but also the general website is the verification process when I try to log into my account. I don't know if this is necessarily Indigo's fault, but the fact that I have to spend at least 2 mins, going through different "where's Waldo's" with traffic lights, crosswalk, and buses is enough to make me second guess if it's really worth buying anything to go through the entire process, to just be told my password is wrong and I have to do it all again. Please fix it!
my account already exists, i already have a Plum card, and yet i can't find how to add it to this app ANYWHERE. the UI's settings ONLY have an option to turn notifications on/off. 0/10 app
Still has sign in issues when attempting to access my account. Not as bad as previous but still not good. How about you make it possible to exit app from more than just the home screen?
Doesn't work. Everytime I try to search something or view a product a page pops up "something went wrong". Can't shop from the app either, it tells me "something went wrong" every time I hit "Add to Cart". Not impressed with the poor quality of this app. Think I'll do my Christmas book shopping on Amazon instead because I can't be bothered to fight with this app.
The app has updated and fixed issues (like the crashing) but it still has many shortcomings. Going through the menus can lead to serious lag and at times pages just won't load. It's fine, but its better to just use the webpage.
I used to be able to view and manage my wish list on the app which I loved and now I can't. Makes it harder to keep my wish list up to date.
Cannot purchase anything off the app....payment goes into JavaScript message into small to read ...tried uninstalling same problem...will not connected to payment server
Hadn't used my Indigo app in AGES until today, when I tried accessing it to see what books I had on my wish list while I was out and about shopping. Except that I couldn't because it takes me to an error page instead - telling me that it can't be found or whatever. Hopefully this bug/glitch can be fixed soon?
Hey Chapters/Indigo, when you give users the option to sign in within the app...LET US DO THAT. I can't log in at all, because every time I hit "sign in", I'm taken to the browser page. If no one's told you, that does NOT sign your users in within the app! There's 0 purpose in having this app when you can't do anything with it besides look at things or be constantly booted to your web browser...
Everytime i go to search something, it always comes up as a network error. But when i use the website it comes up normally.
