Doesn't always work. Been trying for 3 days to report non delivery issue & app won't let me access my account info. Miss more papers than I receive yet keep billing for missed/late issues. Good luck trying to use this app!

Would prefer the layout look like the paper version, or at least have the option to change it.

The worst app Ive ever used! The thing that's irritating is that with all of the problems this app has, they have to know about them but yet they don't change anything even though I have reported the issues to them. The one good thing is at least they're not robbing me for the print edition. Just expect problems with it jumping around to different sections/pages and the stupid "bonus section" popup screwing you up.

Just a terrible experience. Purchase a membership and it never activated. After spending the week on trying to gain access they still weren't able to give access to what I paid for. They refused a refund but at least stated they cancelled the autorenewal so I wouldn't be charged more. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the Star has been going downhill over the past 5ish years. Don't waste your money until they get some better systems and leadership

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU SUBSCRIBE!! They will change their monthly prices and not tell you. I joined for a $1 for a month from there they charged $7 a month for my subscription (which I agreed to). They then started charging me $10 halfway through the year WITHOUT informing me (this I DID NOT AGREE to). I have called 3 times for a refund since I never agreed to the charges and have yet to receive one. On top of all of this the app never worked. I had to log in EVERY time in order to use my sub

The app refuses to acknowledge a long-time print edition subscriber who has authorized monthly payments via a credit card! On a tablet, the app insists that the user agree to an additional monthly charge of $4.99 even though the monthly S50.00 charge has been paid. A third rate (but the only one in town) newspaper that digital readers have to use a miserly app to access. We travel, suspend delivery of the print edition, and while we are away, are gouged for access to the only source of local news.

In an effort to support journalism I subscribe to the NYT, the WP, and the Indy Star when I moved to Fort Wayne a few years ago. It's association with USA Today places it midway on the political spectrum, a good thing but it's also mediocre and boring. And occasionally infuriating. 12/12/20, Indiana leads cases of Covid19 per capita, vaccine just released and not a thing about that! Sports articles are more than half the content and no way to filter them away, grrrrrrrrr...

Different "news" than printed edition. Major headlines in the printed edition are nowhere to be found in the app. For instance, Woodward tapes were two days of headlines in print. The headline in the app was an ice cream shop opening in Indy. In addition, now I have to sign in every time I open the app. C'mon, Industry, fix this thing. You want people to subscribe to the local paper, but you make it difficult to want to.

It's okay when it works. Past few days it's been telling me access is not available on mobile devices. Isn't this mobile app?? There is an option under settings for 'acct management' but doesn't contain any options to view or manage anything. After complaint, got email directing me a Tennessee newspaper site to actually sign in...but you have to use a computer (not phone or tablet) Calling this app seems like a stretch.

This app is terrible now! I have to sign in multiple times to read stories. It doesn't open when I click on the link in an email like it used to. Whoever redesigned this app needs to go back to the old design! Crappy app! And I pay for this! If this continues I will drop this subscription! Fix it now!! RIDICULOUS!

Chr. K. Dec 30, 2020

Overall I like the app but it is infuriating to use because you have to log back in almost everytime you use it. It did not used to do this I am guessing it is something they changed in an update. I have notifications turned on and even those articles make you sign in.

Gre. P. Jan 11, 2021

The reporting is decent, but this app is straight trash. Constantly logs out, log in is a painful process, suggested story algorithm constantly suggests stories that I never read (eg. high school sports). The app may cause me to cancel my subscription.

Amy. C. Dec 1, 2018

I signed up for the Thurs/Sun delivery of the paper, and I count on the app for news on other days. It won't let me sign in and constantly tells me I'm using incorrect credentials even though they work on the website. The paper editions haven't been delivered in over a month, and the app doesn't work. What the heck am I paying for?

Kat. M. Jan 13, 2021

Most frustrating app. Requires me to log in each time, but even worse, sometimes I have to retype my password several times before it works, even though I can see that it is typed correctly.

Lyn. S. Jan 12, 2021

This app used to work better. Requires sign in daily now. Seems like in trying to protect content from non-subscribers prevents subscribers from viewing content too...forcing multiple sign ins. And now it thinks I'm not a subscriber. Keeps getting worse!

Fra. T. Jan 28, 2020

I started reading your paper to follow Jacoby during football season. However, began reading more broadly when I saw an article that attracted me. The writing style is such that the articles have a story-telling flavor.

Tom. R. Nov 20, 2018

DO NOT subscribe. I did and they took my money but, I cannot login. I tried their support, they say I do not have an account. I aent them screen shots of my account dashboard, they say no, I do not exist. There is no way to cancel online! Once you are in, you are in forever. They say, gee we think you are canceled and today, after a MONTH of email, they charged my card for a subscription. So, they charge you but they do not allow you to login or cancel or acknowledge you as a customer.

SKI. K. Oct 26, 2020

I'm a 40+ yr subscriber. When I visit the app for news, it knows who I am, they send me emails all the time, appears that I am signed in (offers me "sign out" but not sign in) but when I click on an article it tells me I must subscribe. VERY frustrating.

Sar. M. Nov 19, 2020

The app needs a new sign in almost every time you use it. This is so frustrating when you get a news alert. I subscribe to other national news services and this doesn't happen. We have the technology. Please fix this.

A. G. u. Dec 1, 2018

Keep receiving failure to load, try again message. Very frustrating, if I wanted to wait to read the news, I would buy an old fashioned paper. Can you please fix your app?

Ros. M. Nov 2, 2019

I would prefer a simple listing of the sections. Am not looking for a multimedia e experience. Also dislike that the article less are not dated.

Dan. S. Dec 10, 2020

It would be nice if the app could keep me signed in instead of requiring me to log in every time I want to read a story. This issue alone will probably be the reason I cancel my subscription. Thanks, Gannett, you're the worst.

Ron. R. Aug 25, 2020

This "news" source no longer even attempts to portray itself as an unbiased reporting agency. There were PLENTY of articles after the DNC, and rightfully so, as it was a major political event. However, there is only 1 article, and you have to scroll down quite far to find it and it not an uplifting or positive message, from the RNC. I'm not sure what happened to the Indy Star but the reporting is clearly biased and you should not rely on it to make an informed decision. So sad...

Lin. W. May 16, 2021

Like everyone else, even though I am logged into my subscriber account, I am constantly unable to read stories in the app because I am "not a subscriber." I am deleting the app and adding the website to my home screen and will read that way... However, It's sad that Gannett is run by people who don't care about local journalism.

Mik. M. Jan 15, 2021

I'm a subscriber and have to log into the app every time I pull it up. Super frustrating, I thought that paying them would be an easier way to get some local news, apparently not.

Log. B. Jan 21, 2021

Horrible app. Must sign in with password every few articles. Won't save password. Please simplify sign in. It's not like there is some big security issue here.

Rho. M. Jan 15, 2021

Shows stories, but refuses to recognize my credentials and allow me full access about half the time. Sign in. Sign out. Rinse and repeat. Ugh! Infuriating.

Dei. Jun 11, 2020

This is not what I would call a good app. Why am I getting notifications about articles that I've already read, when I have only got notifications turned on for breaking stories?

cha. b. Apr 3, 2021

App makes you sign in every time, just like all the other reviewers are saying. Very annoying to point that I removed the app to avoid getting irritated but I still pay for it. Sad face
