Infrared Remote for Roku

Features:
- Control your Roku via infrared (IR)
- Keyboard support that lets you type on your device and it sends the infrared codes either after every letter or all at once
- Channel shortcuts for Netflix, Amazon, Pandora, VUDU, Crackle, MGO and Blockbuster
How to use the keyboard:
- First open the on-screen keyboard on the Roku
- Then click the A button on the app to show the keyboard on your Android device
- Keep the device aimed at the Roku and start typing
- If you want to send codes all at once (for example when entering an email address), hit the toggle button labeled Letter to change it to Word(s) after which you'll need to click Send to send the codes at once (make sure your device is pointed at the Roku throughout the entire send)
Supported Rokus:
- All Rokus are supported EXCEPT the Roku Streaming Stick

Samsung devices with infrared will work regardless of the Android version
Non-Samsung devices (such as HTC and LG) with infrared will only work on Android 4.4 KitKat or newer

Update: I did not know Roku is just on when plugged in. I was using a faulty plug. App worked as intended! ***************** There's no Power button!?! I saw many reviews saying how great this was for when the Roku remote is lost (current situation - just moved) but I can't reconnect the Roku if I CAN'T TURN IT ON. Why is there no Power button?
This remote emulator can replace the included Roku Express remote (and possibly other Roku models) if you have an older android device capable of sending an IR signal. If you lost your Roku remote and need to set up your Roku on a new network (factory reset or can't use previous network credentials), using an infrared remote is the only way. This is a very practical replacement to the Roku remote and gave new life to an old Roku. Best real Roku remote replacement.
This app actually works! I downloaded 4 others and this was the only one that worked with infared. Very simple, no-nonsense UI . The ads were small and unobtrusive. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of five is there is no volume buttons. Thank u developers!
To be honest, I'm giving 5 stars even before really using the app because it did what I just spent HOURS trying to do: it allowed me to connect to my wifi without the roku remote! Seems simple enough, right? But it isn't, if you don't have an infrared device. I dug out my old LG G5, which has an IR blaster. Yaaay for "old" technology! Thanks for the help!
Works perfect! Please add more custom app buttons like PhiloTV, etc... I use the app to also program my other universal remote using the infrared function and it works great. Nice for traveling too, can leave oem remote at home.Thx!
Not very good. The advertising banner makes it very difficult to press some of the buttons, which is probably by design. 1 star of for poor design, 1 off for advertising and 1 for weak ir
App does not use IR says device and tv aren't on the same network, which would not be an issue if it were actually using IR cause you know IR does not use network whoever made this should change its name to just another Roku app if it even works
Terrible. No power button. I want a refund for paying for this app thinking the ads were just covering the power button. Ugh.
Horrible.. I have the s10, running version 10... Tells me no IR transmitter when there is!

Good haptic feedback while you push buttons that do nothing at all. Should have called it pointless button game.
It works as an acuall remote no wifi needed to make it work but im ussing it on a stream stick not a smart tv

I've rushed to judgment to often in the past and extolled the virtues of one product or another before doom befell me.. So I will simply say.. So far, so great Update: As I said, I wouldn't rush to judgment, so after some time and usage.. I need to add another star and several utterances of the words "perfect" & "awsomesauce" to my previous review
I saw reviews stating I could use this without wifi. To connect to my roku so I could then connect it to my Wi-Fi. And it did not work. It did absolutlet nothing.
Does not work with my phone so I gave it 3 stars for free :) thank you developer team for letting me know that it's not compatible with my Galaxy S9+ . Blessings to you and your endeavors
Saved me when I left my remote at home and the Roku was not set up on the new wireless network. Worked fine with my Roku 4.
Definitely a nice replacement for the physical remote. It would be nice if you had a "keyboard designer", where you could create virtual keyboards to match each application's search keyboard.
Every other IR app didn't work for the Roku. This worked out of the box perfectly. Thanks.
This app worked perfectly. I'm moving, and put my remote in a different box from the roku 😣 and couldn't find it when I unpacked. Fortunately, my phone still has an IR blaster built in, and I was able to use this app to get my roku back up and running and hooked up to my new wifi without the remote 😎. The keyboard input functionality didn't really work, but as the actual remote can't do that either, I still give it 5 🌟. Ads are unobtrusive. 100% recommend if your 📱is also from the stone age.
