Excellent App. Works every time. Intuitive design. Something to note: I have not updated the app for a year now. I have a fear of things changing when they don't need to change. After reading the recent reviews my fear was correct.
While the app does the job, there're still many disappointing things. 1. No charts for expenses overview. Not a single number. 2. Google Pay not supported, instead there's in-app NFC payment module. Always asks for PIN, even though this is turned off in settings (for amounts under 50eur). 3. No tariff overview, so you need to remember the name of your pakket and google it. In Dutch, of course. 4. Cannot opt out of an insurance using the app.
Could be way more intuitive and ergonomic. Example 1: Press fingerprint to open a window to validate (= press again) fingerprint... Once should suffice. Example 2: On a website, app open, you pay with your creditcard. No popup in the app to confirm, until you close and reopen the app.
When opening the app to make an online payment it says: Failed. Sorry for the inconvenience, please try again later. It usually does this when there is a new update waiting, which is very annoying when trying to order food or something like that, cause the order then fails... Two days ago i tried to pay a tikkie, i got the same message so i updated again, but i still get the same message when trying to make an online payment. Otherwise i can use the app just fine...
A very good app and interface for normal usage. Reason I did not rated 5 - When carrying out payments from browser using Ing app, the app does not return back to browser which initiated. Although payments are done successfully, it merchant does not recieve confirmation immediately. And most of the time it says order on hold.
After the update, the push notification after transacting does not work any more in my phone (s10+), which did work perfectly on the previous version. I try to turn on and off this function on the app and reset my phone but still it does not work! I need this function back to keep up to date all the payment/set up change of my account!
Push notifications after payment doesn't work anymore. Basically can't pay with my phone anymore. OnePlus 9 pro. 26-05-2022; After several updates it still doesn't work properly. Google pay with another bank works perfect on my phone. ING needs to do something quick
I've tried to reach out to do a bug report (via e-mail or in app) but I have found no other option than writing a review here. Since a few months mobile payment (NFC) doesn't work anymore. It crashes when you click the button or use the shortcut. It used to work in the past. Reinstalling, clearing cache etc doesn't fix the issue. I've pulled a log from my android phone. If a developer reads this and is interested in the log, please reach out to me.
App doesn't work when connected to 4g/5g, will only open when connected with wifi. Very annoying if you want to check your balance on the go.
The fingerprint sing-in/confirmation is now broken if the phone Face ID is activated. When it appears, the Face ID confirmation has priority, over the fingerprint but the identification does not end up getting accepted by the app. Depending on the situation the app crashes (adding new virtual card) or you can't can't continue to the next screen (confirming you allow fingerprint to work for login and confirmation during the first time setup). Android 12 (Android Experience ROM) on Poco X3 pro.
No longer able to activate my app through bluestacks, gets stuck on the camera so I cannot verify. Truly wish you'd bring back the debit card activation like it used to. This app has only gotten worse over the years.
Still disappointed that it can't be used with Google Pay. I understand that it has it's own thing for paying with NFC, but I've never used that because most of my shopping is online. I know the Netherlands has iDEAL for that, but that's not so ideal to use internationally. Often Google Pay is available and dutch banks like ABN AMRO do allow pairing with Google Pay. I don't get why ING doesn't.
Would be great if the scanner worked! Tried to scan my identity card and nothing... And the option to take a photo is not showing, when I select to be given the notification goes to the scanner and it just stays there....
Great and easy to use app, but it's too bad that they removed saldo check.... it was easier than having to log in every time to check if you have enough money for a patatje mayonnaise ;(....
The app does everything it should do! I love the helpful insights in the account, the easy log in process as well as the easy verification.
The app works pretty good, however they deleted a very useful function: the ability to see active and expired payment requests that you made. This was handy to look at, if someone didn't yet pay me back
Great and intuitve app. Too bad they decided to take out the balance preview, but one can live without it.
Imagine this! Your users cannot update the application when you force them to update. Lets say for various reasons. So no update no banking. Your bank has a strange business policy - devlopers desicion ouranks business goal of making banking services avilable. Function over bloated features and being trendy. If your reason is security it means that your previous verions were unsecure. It means you should have not relesed them! There are applicatios built over 60 years ago in COBOL never updated
missing features: option to select and confirm prepared payments and to remove prepared payments. when preparing payment using webbrowser you need to confirm payment in app but it is almost always opening google playstore instead of the app (app is up to date). App is also not showing on my phone as been installed while it is installed
I changed phone and I can't log in anymore. Seems you have to have Dutch I'd or driving license. If you have an id from Europe that doesn't look like the Dutch it's not possible. Useless bank that is not inclusive. My ID is from Greece !!
Too many requests for updates and too many ads. I am not as satisfied with the app as I was before. On march 24 I received a request to update my ING app. Today, april 6, I received again!! another request to update, if not, my app would stop working. Irritating.
Whén it works, it works alright. But there have been so many bugs lately when I can't log in and just can't reach my money. That's really annoying bc I never know when it will be fixed. Just have to wait, unable to reach my money
Works fine, just the infomercial suggestions on the frontpage have no opt-out and it annoys me.
App does not work correctly on samsung tab s8, shuts down and restarts after taking a picture for ID verification. Never gets past that stage.

Impossible to login with an European ID, I've been trying for days and nothing. My roommate has the same issue already for weeks. Edit: my expiration date is in 2029.
Allow me to take a screenshot in the app. It is ridiculous that it is blocked. Do I really have to use another phone to take a photo of my screen? Or open ING in the browser, in order to do it? If I want to share information from the app, then not being able to take a screenshot is just annoying to users, but in terms of security, it doesn't add anything at all. You lost 4 stars due to this.
I wanted to pay using iDeal, but failed multiple times. The app issued a statement saying that i cannot do anymore transaction today as i have done multiple transactions, thought the attempts didnt go through
I bought a new phone, but I can't activate the app on it. It seems to be my European ID not good enough. I've called costumer's service, they reset something, now I cannot use the app on my old phone either. Asking for the scanner, it takes a week to arrive. Meanwhile I went to an ING service-punt. They can't help because I asked for a scanner, but when the scanner arrives, I can activate it. Scanner arrived, couldn't activate it. :facepalm:
