Inmate Canteen

The video visits only work about 10% of the time. You would think since you have to pay 8.95 processing fee for everything you do on there things would work properly. Especially when you have to do separate purchases for adding money to the inmate funds and adding funds communications . I spend so much money every week for nothing to ever work properly.

It's horrible! I would give it negative stars if that were an option. it's ridiculously expensive for one, and two, make a call option is not always on there. Or it won't let the call go through. I will be deleting this stupid app as soon as the money on my account is gone! If I can even wait that long. I've emailed them several times without any response and without the problem being fix. Don't waste your money by downloading it!!

Update: My account has been locked up for 7 days now. Their response is this is an ongoing issue and they are working on it. This is the worst phone app, EVER. Half the time it doesn't load. When it does load it's very slow and usually locks up. Customer service is email only. They charge you an outrageous amount for the service to begin with then have the nerve to charge you a dollar per month to have the privilege of trying to use their services.

Awful it logs me out at least 1 time a day and I have to get a new password n when I do it says there is an error or that the password hasnt changed. It's so slow that I clicked the button many times and causing it to send multiple passwords n none of them work. Then I emailed them almost 2 weeks ago and it says I dont have an account when I do so I re make an account but it says that the email exists in the system. I have had so many problems with this app if I didnt have to use it I wouldn't.

Once you figure out how it all works it's quite convenient really. It is a bit pricey, but considering its convenience and speed vs. regular postal mail, it's a good option for keeping in touch and they have special deals going most if the time that can help you save. Technical support was responsive during business hours and fixed a problem I had with email.

Absolutely horrible. Constant issues. Way over price for the terrible service. Video quality lags, cuts out and freezes constantly. Support is very little help and can only be reached via email. You have but to use their system unfortunately.

Horrible, only spins, no phone numbers, email comes back, internet search leads you to app--that doesn't work. Don't think this is quick easy assistance needed for you when needing to help someone incarcerated...it isn't. Even the jail personnel were frustrated, maybe they should switch providers.

App is ok for adding money to an account even though the service fees are questionable. The picture mail can be frustrating as you have to take the picture right at that moment, you can't send one from your gallery nor does the picture that you take save to your gallery. Video visit is not an option on the app either

I just found out the facility requires approval for video chats. Would be nice if the error message in the app would tell you thar. There was no info given on how to video char, just an error every time I tried.

Seriously never works. I keep uninstalling and reinstalling and still doesnt work. Considering they take 8.95 EACH TRANSACTION, one would think the app would be perfect but it is seriously the worst. You can never login or something always fails, so you pay a ridiculous amount for a service you cant even use.

I added money to the communication for obviously the phone but anytime my son calls it says ther is no available money and I look on the account and it clearly says there is money on there. How do I connect the call everything else is right. For as many fee's that I paid I shouldn't have any problems im not happy about this at all. Give me my money back if im not able to talk to my son with the money I added!!!!

A total rip off. The service fee Inmate Canteen charges to add money to your phone or to an inmate account, or to do anything on this app is $8.95, far higher than any other company out there. For example, if I add $10 to my phone, it costs $18.95. Every time. This company takes total advantage of an already vulnerable population and it limits, rather than promtes, communication between incarcerated people and their families. Disgraceful.

Every time I try to video visit, the "video call" feature is not there, yet it is on non visiting days of course you can't use it then. When I message text support they tell me to use a computer but you need Adobe flash which is no longer available to use. I have not been able to visit in weeks. Yet they have no issues taking my money. This app is a scam!

Works terribly. Not only does it charge $8.95 for EVERYTHING but it doesn't work half the time!! Lately it's been dropping calls like crazy and it doesn't let you call out at all sometimes. I've been trying to make a phone call for the last HOUR and can't get thru. How is it I'm PAYING for a service O can't freaking use???

this rating would be a negative five if that were an option! I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to using this app...if there is any other way to get funds to your loved one, use it even if it means driving across state to the facility in which your loved one is incarceratd - I sent money and they posted it to the wrong inmate ID, I then thought I got it corrected and they did the same thing ( I also was made to believe that they stopped payment on the first one) - out almost $50

Video calls do not work. App freezes. Phone states I need to download app...even though its downloaded. **update.1.26.2021 recieved a very detailed email from support on how to make video calls to work. BUT Google Chrome no longer supports Adobe Flash player, which is the content format inmate canteen uses. This renders thie video system useless until Canteen updates their software.

Confusing Interface for the different options. Needs to be Updated period, the layout and system is outdated. Directions would be nice, so you know what you are doing. Very Buggy too.

This app is horrible. First off the $8.95 service fee is horrible! Second anytime I respond to an email I have to re install the app to be able to use it.. the app is not easy to use. Wish i was able to charge everything one time around like food and communication together however wont let you... and then you have to wait a day to be able to do it becasue only 1 transaction a day.... worst app ever and worst way to communicate with families members

I have problems with this app every time I try to use it. I've been trying for over an hour now to simply wish a close friend happy father's day and i can't. I've contacted the 'support' line in the past and only keep getting a automated response that leads me no where . Not impressed.

it's great that they have this kind of thing nowadays in the prices of the items are not bad but if you go in to the jail is 2 bucks if you do it online this damn near 9 bucks. I think that is way too much moneycharging just to buy items for whoever it may be. It's already bad enough to charge you two Buck's when you go into the jail to drop money off.

This app is great and I would give it 5 stars however, during the visiting house for my facility the ability to make a video call using the app gets cut off at 2pm when the hours are open from 8am to 8pm. If you use the desktop site or a computer then you can still video chat from 2-8pm just not using the ICC app. And then I have submitted 3 tickets requesting that this be fixed via email and have never had a response nor has it been fixed. There is no phone number for customer service.

Giant turd. Over $16 to put $25 on an account because you can't choose $25 you have to do two transactions one of $20 and one of $5 if I was to be so gullible. Nope. $8.95 for an electronic transaction? LAUGHABLE. It gets worse.....I'm trying to call a buddy to get me out of the klink but the call keeps saying being rejected. Another inmate said it may just mean they are not answering....and no wonder, the call shows it is coming from Wisconsin not the state the facility actually is in or a name of the facility so no one can tell if it is a scam, telemarker or ID theft. Ridiculous. The listing of bond agents in the kiosk has a name and phone number but again no city listed so you don't know where the heck you are calling if you are trying to bond out. Customer assistance via phone? Ha!!!! Fill out a form we'll get back to you. Wake up its 2020 get your "technology" up to date and at a fair price. Nice to have a monopoly isn't it?

$9 sercicw fee for every single trAnsaction, even in the SAME ACCOUNT is ridiculous....it cost $0.25 to send an email, but if u want the imprisoned to have funds for communication, during the same transaction, you can not add funds to theirs.....you have to fo back and pat another $9 to add to thiers seperately....they cant put anything on your account, so ur better off just giving them the max to begin with and hope they put most of it on communication if theyre in fir too long.
