Update: was a 5 star app. No more! Doesn't do anything anymore. I always get a message saying the image will save and bug will be identified later. A few months later, none saved and none are being identified. Always down. Sad I spent money on this!
Works Exceptionally Well! The 6 months I've owned this app is has identified every bug I've took a picture of except one. Thats a pretty good record! It saves every bug you want to keep in the library. Awesome app!
I'm editing my original 5 star rating to a 1. I would give it a zero or a 1/4 star if I could. The app worked great when I first installed it but it hasn't worked for me the last several times I've tried to use it this past year. I see where its last update was in 2019. If it's not going to be updated anytime soon then I'm just going to delete it. I'll give it till September 1st and see what happens.
The idea is fun and the potential is enormous. Frustratingly, it hasn't worked even once, has crashed repeatedly, and has used a ton of data in the process.
I don't why people are saying this App doesn't work. every insect I have photographed it has gotten it correct and with accurate information. maybe they are using it wrong. I'm a Certified Nurseryman and I have done a lot of IPM studies. I recommend this app.
Worked well and now it scans one insect then force closes. Reinstalled several times same response. Emailed several times no explanation. I purchased this and now regretting.
Really bad accuracy, take 5 differnet pictures of the same specimen and get 5 different results. Nearly completely useless app
I work in a day care. The children are always finding insects and asking what they are. This app has positively identified all the insects that they have found.
Worked well when I first downloaded it. Force closes now and anytime it does have a perfect picture it says "server maintenance" try later..... Wish I hadn't paid for it.
i wish that I could give this app a negative ten rating! There is no information or help included, not even how to use the app! it crashes every time I try to use it! I suggest that you do not waste your time here.
As a last resort, I used this app in trying to identify a type of butterfly. I should have used it as a first resort 😬 Can't answer why I didn't! Live and learn.
App crashes every time a picture is taken. Don't even waste your time downloading, you'll just end up uninstalling and asking for a refund.

This app is amazing. It has identitied several insects from photos friends have sent me. I am thoroughly impressed and will definitely recommend this. I'm an environmental science student and I like to use apps to help identify things, cause come on it's 2018, and this is the fastest and most accurate insect app I've found
LOVE IT!! I am a huge fan of bugs, and this makes it so much easier than trying to look up what kinds I see. As a huge bug nerd, this is easily one of the best $4.99 i've spent in a while.
While the accuracy is decent when taking a photo of the insect, any time I try to import a photo on my Samsung Galaxy s10 the app crashes and will not allow the import. Still love the app, but that's rather frustrating.
