Initially it was great. Convenient with fairly low fees compared to some deliveries. However, the past several times I've tried to complete an order when selecting a delivery time it says "Try again. Something went wrong" and will not let me complete checkout. It's not an issue with internet connection. I even uninstalled and re-installed the app. Extremely frustrating.

Honestly makes me sad, so much potential but so many issues I don't even think ill be able to fit them all. For one, the app crashes randomly and won't load for literal hours, so good luck in an emergency or if you already ordered something. I don't think I've EVER gotten a perfect order, there's ALWAYS something wrong. Whether its missing items, broken items, or replacements I wasn't told about. Also any of the discounts are pointless if you are poor. There's more but it won't fit.

Glitches in app driving me crazy! This app used to be great but at the moment it is useless. Recently, this app doubles my tip to the Instacart worker for no reason at all. Luckily, I caught the mistake before it was too late. I had call their support line to get help to straighten this mess out multiple times, constantly times out and doesn't matter what time of the day it is; their computer system is constantly having problems; doesn't let you add items to your cart easily;

I've been using Instacart for about a year now. I have multiple addresses because I travel around Canada for work, easy with this app. Some people complain about the pricing but you have to remember, some of us don't live in a bustling metropolitan area. Gas where I live is going to be $3/L soon, a trip to the store can cost $10-15 + my time. On average I pay an extra $10-20 for the convenience of having my groceries delivered. That's all-in, taxes, fees, and tip. Plus I save myself 2 hours.

Unfortunately, two years after my last review this app hasn't improved at all, in fact it's gotten worse. I'm constantly getting promos that don't work. The app is glitching all the time. I've gone through the whole ordering process, checkout and payment process and when I get to the final step I get an error that the promo belongs to another account. What other account? If your company is mismatching info between user accounts then this app isn't very secure.

It keeps freezing up, won't let me scan some things, and when it's not doing that I have to call Instacart support to skip through from right after check out to destination because it won't get to navigation. I'm about done. I'm waiting on it to update right now in the grocery store while I'm supposed to be shopping for a batch. Now I'm late. It's going really slow.😡

Instacart is very convenient & I've only had one issue out of the 30-50 times using them. Those are the pros. The con is recently (as someone else mention) their delivery times seemed to be pushed back further which i believe is to entice you to pay for the $2-$3 expedited fee. I've also noticed items I commonly purchased being removed for more expensive brands with less FL oz. It feels like the listing is being manipulated so I've gone back to Amazon Fresh for now. Just let things play out.

I couldn't place an order for days because the express screen that pops up was broken. Poor customer service. They asked for pictures of a problem, they were provided. I got no response. I have also used this app as a shopper and it freezes and crashes all the time. Also at times you have to scan an item several times before it is checked off. Customer service for the shopper is also terrible. I would tell people who want to be a shopper not to do it as it is extremely frustrating to use.

They will arbitrarily overcharge you for items and add inconsistent fees. For instance, I purchased an item that is $12 in the store, it is listed as $15 on the app, I was charged $18. Sales tax is 9% at the place of purchase. See the problem? And that is discluding fees. Then an order may only have a service fee, while another has a service fee and delivery fee. And yet another has a service fee, delivery fee, and fuel surcharge. Dishonesty. And the app is a pain to navigate.

You need to make it easier to change vehicles for pickup. It would be so much more user friendly if this was an option when completing a pickup order, or if you were able to do it when you've submitted an order and hit the "Manage Order" or "Review order" options. There's no reason to have to go into account settings. Search features need an update after the app has been live for so long. If I search "Digiorno Rising Crust" for example, the top results aside from sponsored should be that item.

Decently useful. Makes picking a replacement other than the suggested a bit of a pain, and too many "suggested" items from brands that probably paid to be suggested, rather than similar. Edit: dropped the rating (and uninstalling) after the recent increase in notifications suggesting I order something. Yes, I know you can turn it off, but the convenience isn't worth the insultingly transparent marketing tactics.

Works, but frustrating! Can't pick replacement options in the app, you must use browser to choose those. But the comment box in the browser doesn't work, so back to app. There's no way to do everything in either option. Search results are not sorted by search term, and results list is constantly interrupted by irrelevant suggestions. Example: search results for "seafood" contain 40% sponsored entries for spaghetti sauce. A few fixes would make it perfect, but each fix breaks something else.

I've been using the app for a few years, 5 to be exact, and it was good and useful in the beginning. Nowadays it feels more like a pain in the neck. I've been getting shoddy, broken and/or spoiled products. In the past few months I've probably complained to customer service multiple times because my order was wrong, I got items that weren't mine or I've had things that were missing. It's just been a pain, not to mention the prices. I just use Walmart delivery now, it's much more affordable

If I could rate negative, I would. I decided to get a one month trial so I could save money in the long-run. ONE MONTH. I used the app twice. TWICE! Today I looked at my bank account to learn I was billed for a ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION $106?!! Very upset with these terms. Who jumps from one month trial to an entire year without asking?! Monthly reoccurring billing I wouldn't have been upset about. $106?!?! This app just took my grocery money. Never again.

I used to like Instacart but it quit working for no reason. I tried all the things but it just won't submit my order. So frustrating. And when I called customer service to get a prorated refund for the 9 months I have left on the subscription they said no because I used it once!! What about the last 2 months that I couldn't get it to even work on the app or website. So frustrating and poor customer service. I will never sign up for Instacart express again or recommend Instacart to anyone.

Something is always missing. I don't think I have ever got a delivery that something wasn't missing. You can report these items as missing, but then your account is put under "review" and becomes "restricted" for something that it is not your fault! After this, any future refund is a lengthy process. Do not recommend at all. High services fees and awful customer service. Not sure why customers are paying the price for grocery items being missing?

This app is handy if you're really busy. Im a mom of 3 kids under the age of 4, and it's so convenient for me to be able to simply park and pickup. The app has many store options available which is great considering many stores are 25 minutes or more since we live in a more rural town. I prefer to do pickup, so the 5% back is amazing. I've had issues with delivery maybe 1/2 x (not apps fault) but they've always fixed the issue. It'll never be like shopping yourself, but it's decent for me.

Strong dislike of the lack of transparency on the markup of items in-store vs app, no option to disable annoying marketing ads every time the app is started or after placing an order, no option to place order at a specific store if identical stores are within range but carry different items, only one time to select replacements . The lack of transparency of the service and low level of user friendliness make using the app a bitter experience. At most the app is a convenience when you are busy.

Instacart for Stater Bros is great. Instacart for Vons not so good. Smart & Final is good too. Update 2022: been using this app for 2 years and it was working great. Since the last update with the 'new logo' the app has gotten slower & slower and more difficult to use. As of today it won't load at all. Real disappointment. I just renewed the annual fee for Express service and app becomes unusable. What's up with that??

Lots of great choices for shopping, ibuse it for personal and business. Can send food and other items to love ones in other provinces so easily and make last minute changes as you speak to the shoppers. Fees are a little steep, but overall it's a great app. Hope they add more outlets, and various shopping needs .

Higher and higher prices This app keeps increasing their prices, no use of paying a monthly fee when you are getting charged for on time delivery of extra $2, on top of that a tip (which I don't mind), the delivery fee plus the monthly fee adds up, there is no such thing as "delivery included" when you are forced to change your time from the 2hrs previously offered. Now this app started to charge for "heavy" items, I little ridiculous.

I really don't like that other fees are just added after you get your order, without an option to change your order. I've even gotten a fee for having a "heavy order“. There are also some items that are only available to click sometimes even when they are always in stock such as Brenner (spelling?) microwave pot pies. I literally have to tell my shopper every time that although I ordered Banquet, I really want the other brand. Finally, it would be so nice if the cart would organize itself.

ETA: Absolute garbage. Deliveries are ALWAYS late & something is always wrong with the order. Today, we got someone else's order, then when we re-ordered our items, that delivery never arrived! App glitches & says "something went wrong" every. single. time. you open a new page. They just updated the aesthetics of the app, yet didn't fix this issue. Re-installing makes no difference. It's been this way forever. Reply to their comment: That's a lie. It's had this issue forever and STILL DOES.

I've had much better experiences since my first order. However, some improvements need to be made: 1. Scheduled deliveries need to happen during scheduled times. I scheduled one delivery with frozen items that showed up an hour early, before I was home! 2. There needs to be a way to better order meat. I can order two pounds of steak, but there's no good way to order two one-pound steaks. I just have to assume the shopper will figure it out (and sometimes they don't).

It's very frustrating that I can't go back to edit my replacement items or replace other items. It seems like you can only do it once? I accidently exited out the screen where I could choose replacements and I couldn't figure out how to go back. Editing an item from my order just allows me to type in a note. I was trying to choose replacements before the shopper was shopping.

IDK exactly what happened but this app is super glitchy. Very annoying. Constantly disconnects will not allow me to switch or add items as needed (within time limits) or adjust totals. Ridiculous to say the least. I love the concept of instacart and CS is very good. But the app is killing me.

I used this app back in 2020, I thought this was the perfect app to help my grandparent order online. It was a bad experience. Now using it again in 2022 my opinion has drastically changed. Very convenient, easy to navigate, and better than it's ever been. Now me and my grandparents can use this and get groceries easier.

The recent redesign included eliminating shared carts, which was a hugely convenient feature. My wife and I used to be able to maintain the same shopping cart on our own phones over the course of the week before placing an order. Now it's just the one person with the premium membership. Huge miss!

I've been reliably using instacart for a few years and during the pandemic it was amazing how they stayed in business and scaled their platform. The app rarely malfunctions and its extremely user friendly. I don't leave many reviews but this one is long overdue. I do most of my shopping now in store only because of inflation on top of the upcharge is just too much for us right now. But for odd and end needs I continue to enjoy the convenience and quality of instacart. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
