Messages are a bit clunky. I periodically get notifications for messages that I have already received. Often times parts of a message string will disappear and reappear. Also the grouping of messages isn't great, they seem to blend together and are hard to differentiate. It's a good app, it just needs to be cleaned up.
Great platform to use but can be overwhelming for new users at first. I think people who are used to Facebook Events or Evite will be turned off by its appearance however once a user overlooks that, the app is easy to use. As an organizer, I save hours of volunteer time by having all of the important tools in one place (calendars, event info, email, instant message, text and more). The setup is completely self explanatory and the details InstaTeam allows you to offer your members is priceless.
The only problem we have with the app is that the push notification don't always work. Sometimes you have to open the app or "check it" to see messages others have sent you. Otherwise, the features and design/organization are very good. However, I upgraded to a Samsung Note 20 & now the app crashes every time I try to attach images...
Great app for communication with a large or small team. Allows team messages, individual messages or you can create a group chat. Love that it allows you to not only enter your schedule but add an address so parents can click on it and Google maps pops up with step by step directions. Upload any team documents for athletes or parents. If I had to list 1 complaint it would be the ads that pop up but it's a free app so that's to be expected. I've used for 3 seasons and will continue.
Tried many many other apps including teamsnap, teamlinkt, sportsengine, teamapp, etc, etc, and no other free version comes close to the features and quick support this has. The occasional ad is not bothersome unlike other apps with ads all over the place and is even well worth it to pay the few bucks to be ad free but really don't even need to. I can contact parents, players, coaches/admins separately or all together. Keep up the great job InstaTeam !
Love the app. Our teams have been using it for several years. Until recently it was perfect. Now I am not getting all the notifications. I have tried all the troubleshooting, deleting the app and reinstalling, I even recently got a new phone and nothing has helped. I still miss some notifications.
I really don't mind the ads in the app, but as I was evaluating the app to administer my youth soccer team this season, I was surprised to see so many ads in email notifications to parents. This may discourage parents from reading the notices. Yes, I know you are ad supported but the cost of $11/month for the team is far too much. If it wasn't for the ads in the email notifications, this would be a no brainer app. One of your competitors, though not as rich in features doesn't put ads in emails.
I was so excited to use this app but now I'm just super disappointed. It took me a day to set up cause it would delete my players and parents as I was adding them in. I ended up redoing like 30 times over. Just when I finally finish and about to send invites it shut down. Now I can not log in at all and no one from the team can log in either. I messaged customer service 3 times have not heard anything back. Really disappointed! Too bad!!Has so much potential but a waist if you can't even log in.
I have used this app for several years now to manage a large cheerleading squad. I pay for the ad free subscription and don't regret it at all. I also use the feature for parents to make payments, and it was super easy to set up. It is quite a hefty fee for parents to use it, so I also accept Venmo...but this app allows them to use a credit card instead of cash from their bank account. I use the events tab and team/group messaging constantly. Overall, I am very happy with the app.
Very disappointed that the app DOES NOT allert/notify you when a message is received. I have to constantly check the app as well as my email to see if my child's coach has sent any messages. I have missed several important messages due to this issue . I Would DEFINITELY NOT recommend this app to anyone.
I cannot get the app to notify me when there is any type of change or message. It sends me an email when there is a change, but not right away, only at a set time. It's frustrating that I've missed two practices so far and have to open the app several times a day to check for notifications.
Ads pop up when you're trying to navigate through it and it isn't always easy to find old messages. Otherwise it does a good job of alerting me when I have messages.
I don't like this app. When I signed up, my spam email increased SO much (so one way they make money is selling your email address to third party advertisers. It's so irritating! I don't usually enter my email on things for this very reason, so I know it was because of this app. As a parent of a dancer whose coach uses this as primary communication, I would prefer other means of communication.
The app works as expected. Ads are expected. My issue is with how they're on autoplay with the volume cranked up to 11, and that the volume or cancel buttons on the ads don't seem to work.
Why in the world would an app meant for team communication not have pop up notifications?? I'd recommend Band, Team Snap, Game Changer, Remind... anything before this! Also very disjointed. Have to check multiple places for messages, inbox, social, chat... so annoying.
Just started using the app, two weeks and I liked it so far. Nicely organized, good way of communicating with peers, parents, captains, players... 5* wouldn't mean there's no room for improvement, but I like the good work done so far...
I have found this app to be very useful to communicate with my parents during the season. Easier than writing huge emails. I would like it to have a realtime message alert straight to my phone and a way to make attachments easier.
Great app for coaches and managers. Easy to use, the only addition I would love to see would be the ability to send a notification to remind parents to set players availability for games and practices. Other than that I would give it 5 stars
Feature-packed and intuitive, does exactly what I need as coach of my daughter's EXTRA travel soccer team. And best part is it's FREE if you dont mind ads, but they're not overly-intrusive
So far so good. The potential, capabilities, and functionality there app has is far better than a lot of other app. It is also user friendly after the initial learning curve.
AMAZING App!!! I am a first-time Team Manager for my daughter's dance team and InstaTeam has turned what was an intimidating and unsure venture into an exciting and inspiring one. The creators and developers of InstaTeam really know what they are doing and know how to execute an app that encompasses everything you need and more, all in an easy-to-use layout! I am so impressed by InstaTeam, I am looking for other apps they have created. Great Job, InstaTeam!!!
Not really free and too many ads. Also, had to add weird event then add it again. I felt like I was typing the same thing two or three times for one game. It just isn't user friendly.
Love the app becuase it's easy to stay connected to what's going on with the football schedule and events. I also love the app because it's easy to make contact with the coach if I need too.
The functionality in this app is decent to manage a team. However the amount of advertising, especially the full screen ads, really detract from the experience. I'd be willing to pay for the ad free experience but the price point is not reasonable. There are good alternative options out there which I will be looking at next year if the experience in InstaTeam isn't improved.
