Intercom for Android

I haven't given it a good real world test yet, but it's already way ahead of all the other apps I have tried. Devices on the same LAN found each other right off the bat. Works flawlessly with bluetooth headset. User interface is simple and intuitive. No dumb features that clutter the app and make it harder to use. It seems to play well with other apps that use the audio (I can hear a call while Intercom is working). Latency is extremely good. Voice activation of PTT is available and seems to work well. Audio quality is plenty okay I have not tested how it responds under poor WiFi signal conditions. If there was one thing I would ask for, it would be an iOS port so we can use this with iPhones as well!

The app has a lot of echoing. i tried to use a headset with mic to overcome the echoing, but the it don't work with the app. update: i figured out that, unlike other media apps, the app doesn't automatically switch to headphones when they are plugged in. i had to turn off the speakers. There was still about a quarter second delay and a little echo.

Got the app working over WiFi however I can't seem to set up using Bluetooth only. The tutorial mentions 'use Bluetooth to quick set up on the go' but not actually sure how this works. I have two Bluetooth set with speakers and built in mic. Do I connect both sets to one phone? Connect one to one phone and one to another? It's probably something simple but can't get it to work. Great app otherwise.

Needs a lot of work. Concept is a great one. Unfortunately the App promises much delivers nothing. If the phones are in the same room, goes great. If one phone goes to another room that's the end of the connection. It can't even find the other phone to allow call back. Phones are S9+ updated. Two wifi repeaters and wireless modem in property, all on same network. Heaps of strong signal everywhere. Bluetooth the same. Great Idea, Lousy App. Junk Status. Not recommended!!

This update are good! I love intercom running at background automatically after boot! But there's major drawback : it disables my volume settings when running intercom as background. I can't access volume settings by pressing volume buttons, had to close the intercom app,then I gain access to it again. I've changed audio from call to music, still same. Fix this/solution for this, I will rate 5 stars!!

Great app! User-friendly connectivity & interface as compared to others. BUT, HERE IS A PROBLEM that I (& others also, as I've seen review) am facing — ONCE THE CONNECTION (either wifi or bluetooth or both) BETWEEN TWO WORKING AND PAIRED PHONE IS LOST (here, it is Always When X is talking/hearing and suddenly when there is Incoming/Outgoing call occour on Y's phone), IT DOESN'T RE-CONNECT AUTOMATICALLY or even when X tries manually. X & Y both have to have close the app to re-connect again.

The best app that really works and easy to use. All the others to date don't work or configurate both phones is too complicated or doesn't work. This one does. Just one little detail to fix: when both phones loose connection, you have to have both phones close again to retry connection, this should be automatic ideally. However it is free and works great that's why I leave you 5 stars. If there would be more stars I'd leave more. Greetings and thank you to the developers!!!

Nice app but cannot close without going to running apps in settings and ending proceess.. It continues running in the background after app has been "swiped" closed. Edit: thank you developer for the reply. This should be included on a initially pop up screen to save confusion. I adjusted to 3 stars. Still kind of bad to have to turn off notifications. Even when I tiptoed it still stayed open.. only true way for my s8 is to double tap back. Thx again

Great App. I have tested this extensively over several types of Samsung Android devices old and new, AOSP and whatever Samsung calls it these days with varying but not disappointing degrees of success. (note 10.1, note 2, note 3, note 4, note 8, Andy emulator for windows which the app works perfectly on btw). I have successfully cross patched this awesome app to a two way radio system via Android phone and via the Andy emulator version to a Tait 2010 and a Puxing 888 as a proof of concept. 👍👍!

If this worked reliably it would be exactly what I'm looking for. It allows private connection on a local wifi or Bluetooth network. I use this when skiing to chat to my son without having to shout at one another. I link his phone to my wifi hotspot. No data required as all traffic is on the local network. Huge reliability issues so I'm looking for something else.

I wanted this app as a method to communicate with my disabled fiance in the other room. It drains the battery heavily if the app is left open. I also turned on the option it has to use the speaker phone. It turns the speaker phone on for phone calls too sometimes. It shouldn't be changing other applications. It works, sort of, and judging by comments left here by the developer he has good intentions so I'll give it two stars but it is unusable for me and uninstalled.

I tried this using an s7 and an S9+, it pairs fine and the mic worked on both devices however the conversation was played back via the speakers on the phones not the earpieces and I could not find any way of directing the playback to the ear pieces. Useless on a bike would be a great little app if it would work correctly.... or maybe I am missing something

Works pretty good most of the time. But can really waste battery by signaling on the wifi when not being talked through (updating status of connected peers i suppose). Also can give false status of connection to peers requiring restart. Ad button right next to the PTT button is really annoying.

Excellent app works perfect. Simple and intelligent layout. Wanted a way to have a conversation between myself and a passenger on my motorcycle without spending $400 on an intercom system (with a bunch of features I dont need). I also wanted to be able to use earbuds. Connecting via wifi/ hotspot has the least lag.

We always use this app whenever we go for a long ride.. its very useful and have great voice quality.. there is no compatibilty issue whatsoever. I have a xioami phone and my pillion use oppo phone. just a question though.. can it handle multiple users connected through the same wifi hotspot?? TIA

I really love this app, I've been looking for this app for a long time. I would have given it 5 stars however when the microphone permission is on, this for some reason changes my alarm sound and reduces its volume even when at full volume. Can you please fix this as I really like this app and I want to continue using it without this issue.

The app works well but you cannot select just one device to talk to, once you speak all the other devices will receive the message simultaneously. Suggest to create groups to segregate who will receive the msg, like channels in a walkie talkie. This would be a 5 stars for sure

Looks nice, simple to connect, doesn't require registration. Unfortunately, there is a very strange echo occuring. Everything that is being tranfered is echoed, but only for exactly one repetition. I tried closing the app, disconnect, reconnect. Nothing fixes this issue. Phones used: LG G6 and Galaxy S5.

Just doesn't work. Linked two phones by Bluetooth. Only one would receive voice and that stopped after a few seconds. Tried linking phones by WiFi setting up hot-spot on one phone. Couldn't find the other phone. Lost patience and deleted app.

Minimalist. Latency is hardly noticeable. One problem though. User should be able to choose whether to start the Intercom at boot up or not. Currently it doesn't automatically start when we reboot mobile.

The app is great. There is a bit of lag when more devices are connected. The should be an option to auto connect when ever any device loses wifi connection. An amazing app. Well done developers!!!

Works great and does the job perfectly, but for some reason I can't find the option to use a Bluetooth headset on my Xiaomi A1. I have tried the app in another much older phone (LG) and it worked with the Bluetooth headset.

Not connecting I have 2 Bluetooth 4.0 helmets both connected to separate phones when I look for the Bluetooth devices they dont show up in the list yet its connected to my phone not sure what the issue is was hoping to be able to use this to link both helets to just be able to talk to each other

Feedback for improvement: When using Voice detection, sometimes can notice the voice/sound is cut off ( muted) for about half second. Overall this is a great app. Thank you.

Works like a walkie-talkie, but with some audio delay. Once you change from PTT mode to Voice Activated (VA), it will stay in VA mode even after switching back to PTT mode. Don't have battery usage stats or user range yet.

Others can't see or connect to me when I'm sharing wifi hotspot, but they can see each other. Also it would be nice to have text messaging, and also channels so you can connect to specific groups of people and not everyone.

Volume set to maximum is where I would want volume set to minimum. I have speaker on, and can still hear better from downstairs to upstairs the "natural way" than through the app. Need a boost button please.

Can anyone tell me step by step how to connect 2 phones which each of them is connected with Bluetooth earphones. It works one way only, I can hear the other person but not opposite. Please help. Thanks

Very useful app, I use hotspot and wifi on nokia and samsung phone it works, the call is a success, in terms of using headset/earphones & etc you need to turn off the speaker mode and plug your device so you can talk while driving or cycling with ur companion. Nice app I recommend it
