Like someone else said, I'm having problems with the timer randomly pausing during my run, thus messing up my interval times. Has happened both when I've put the screen to sleep or have left it open. The app is perfect for what I need in every other way but ultimately if it can't reliably do the one basic thing it's meant for, it's useless. Please fix this and I'll be happy to edit my review to 5 stars. Thanks.
This app used to be awesome. It was a simple interval timer with no unnecessary frills and the ads were simple and did not interfere with the functionality of it. With the latest update, it now has pop-up ads during the middle of the session that stops the timer from providing the interval alarms and every time the pop-up ad is closed the timer resets without saving what was completed. HIIT Training will make their pennies from the aggressive use of ads, but the ads make their app useless.
It does what it advertises, and cleanly. The ads are unintrusive, and the core functionality - setting your intervals, even if high and low intensity are different - works well. The UI tells you very clearly which interval you're in, making it easy to tell immediately whether you're catch your breath or gunning it. Definitely recommended. Only thing missing or that I didn't see is integration with Google Fit. Not a necessity, but nice to have.
When it pops up (in the running app) with a "5 Star" rating or the "Cancel" option ONLY, you know the the developers devious behaviour. If you see lots of 5 stars (paid for version too) be very cautious. A foot note, in landscape mode the start /stop option doesn't display only the countdown time. Changing the completed task audio is a voice and cannot be changed. I have reverted back to the clock timer on my mobile phone instead.
This is a great app. I'm a paying user and have used this daily for a year or so. But hoping for some Improvements. The notification window won't go away even when you've closed the app(Samsung galaxy s10) which is annoying. And when you're doing intervals and phone is in la landscape, all additional info disappears, whoch isn't that great. Some small. Bugs when creating new routines. Besides that, this app is great. Can recommend highly.
I love the app easy to use and update. The two reasons its not a 5 star in my book is because 1- the app keeps closing after the update. If I am on another screen or if I pause the app for more than a minute. 2- if you could go into specify music folders for the music instead of searching the whole library would be awesome. I don't like the app closing cause I leave my phone on my bag while I work out. The start and end sounds are perfect for my trainings.
I love that you can create routines but it has a few glitches: 1. When doing split screen the time is too large to see all of it. 2. Timer pauses or stops sometimes even when 'locked' on. 3. Opens to an ad that has no exit, have to close and reopen app. 4. No overlay so you cannot see the time if you have another app or image open (so if using an image with your exercises, for example, the timer disappears unless you choose the split screen option, which doesn't show the entire timer.)
Doesn't work when locked? I set the app up and loaded a bunch of music into it for walking/jogging intervals. It looked perfect and I was excited to try it out. I start the app, make sure it is locked, close the screen, put the phone in my pocket and go. It quits 30 seconds into any song. I'm baffled. I deleted it.
was brilliant until recently. For some reason, the amount of time per set in each different saved workout keeps changing even after I've saved it as the original. I.e. set a workout timer for 3 sets of 1 minute in round 1, 30 secs rest followed by another fee rounds.. save. then I load it up to use it and all the times have been changed 9 sets of 20 secs for 1 round... very annoying.
Good for the basics but this app has some flaws 1. You cannot set rest times 2. Although this app allows you to play music during your workout it sometimes plays distorted, which is the main reason I am uninstalling it as i feel it could damage my speaker. 3. There are pop up ads and stationery ads which ironically are advertising gastric bands for €3425! How motivating. With this app I have formed a great ab routine workout but the problems i have experienced really let it down.
I love this app! I do Sprint interval and I used to have to watch my timer which would slow me down. I can customize my intervals so I can get the best experience without wondering about my time. Update, I had to delete the app because for some reason if I open a document it automatically opens this timer instead. Too bad.
Unfortunately, I am uninstalling this app, and rating it only 3 stars. Due to an array of issues that I experienced I have chosen the interval timer produced by developers dreamspark. The main issue I had with this app is that it often crashes, and it functions poorly in the background. I have found that when in the background or with the screen on sleep mode the countdown timer counts down up to four times slower than it is supposed to, which is detrimental to mine and many others routines.
Great free app. My only issue is occasionally the intervals get a little mixed up (the sound I chose for low intensity will play, but it should be high intensity, but then the high intensity sound plays, and then I have to look to make sure we are on the same intensity), but it doesn't happen that often, and what do I expect for a free app?
Works well for me, the customizable sounds for the different ways intervals are great. To make it even better I would wish for the option to disable the completion popup, and select my own completion sound. Also I'd like to be able to start on high intensity and finish on high intensity. Edit: I figured out how to set it up using simple and setting low intensity to 0 and then repeating and using rest duration as my low interval.
Would like to see better help available on how to customize the settings and add playlist. This could be either within the app or through a web page provided in the app. Timer functionality is good, sound alarms at interval changes are awkward and perhaps too long. But the app works well for what I'm using it for.
unfortunately the timer auto pauses with the device locked and in my pocket meaning i didnt get my audio signal via my headphones. I tried with the device locked setting enabled and disabled with the same result which unfortunately renders the app useless to me. I was using a 3rd paryy audio player but this shouldn't make a difference. 2 stars. hopefully they'll fix this and i can come back to it later. i would have paid for it if it worked.
The only issue I have is when using bluetooth headphones and I adjust the volume of my music listening to Spotify, this also changes the timer sounds of the interval app. I'm unable to "lock" the timer sounds so that they are unaffected when adjusting volume for music. I am using Android Samsung S10.
Keeps pausing randomly. Was running app timer locked, phone screen lock and was feeling like this interval was way longer than supposed to be. Looked at my app and it paused by itself out of nowhere. It did this multiple times. Very very annoying. I hope the next update will fix this and that its coming shortly. Because other than that it's a nice app. But the MAIN utility of it is bugging.
My current experience as a trainer is unsatisfactory. The app constantly shutdowns. And the down fall is that in order to fix the problem I have to uninstall and reinstall which then costs all my hardwork to creating different timing profiles because app doesn't have any form of retention of all that hardwork such as a cloud storage or something that sort. It literally shutdown on me during my class recently and that costed me a class too. Fix whatever bugs this app has asap!!!!
Does exactly what it says. A simple, no frills timer that can be configured for any combination of rounds and rest period that you want. Perfect for boxing, circuits or functional strength and conditioning. The only down side is the lack of clear instructions, took a while to work it out.
Great app! Developer, I was wondering if you could let us edit the words 'Rest Time', 'Cool Down' and if possible if we could also edit the words 'Low Intensity' and 'High Intensity' because I've been using this app for so many other things and I favour customisation. But thank you for this app, it's one of the best interval apps out there.
Unlike some others I have used that are programmed and have only limited ability to customize, this timer lets me program any interval I want, any length, intensity, number if reps, etc. Very intuitive and easy to use. Runs in the background if I'm using some other app during my workout.
For the most part works. The interface for making routines is a little confusing but gets the job done. I had issues opening the app. and making updates to routines. Sent in a question and got a response in under 24 hours so developer is responsive. I swear I was doing the suggested action and it was not working. Then it started to work, so it's a little buggy. But for $1 hard to complain much.
Installed and quickly created a workout. It was easy and intuitive to build. Creating a playlist was a bit tedious, but worked fine. I do like that I can create multiple playlists. I am specifically looking for an app that does two things: 1) say the exercise so I don't have to look at or touch my phone and 2) uses a metronome or counter in addition to the time internals. It looks like this app doesn't have those, so I won't be using it, but it is easy to us and nice to look at!
