Works well, the noise level meter is useful for a quick estimate of noise pollution, or testing noise insulation. Seems to be quite accurate too, if there's issues with differing levels between devices there's not a lot and app can do about hardware. PS the app gets file / photo access so it can save screenshots to your photos folder. Not sure why that is a big deal to some people.
As an Occupational Safety and Health Specialist, I have used the sound meter with great success. Though I would never conduct a "real" noise survey of a workplace using this app, it makes a great visual tool when conducting informal training with the workforce. Having an instantaneous and easy to interpret visual of what levels of noise are actually being created by a tool or task has been indispensable.
Measured unreasonably high noise levels in a quiet environment, all interesting functionality is behind an in-app purchase (it does not even show the price of said purchase), requires access to my data otherwise it won't work, can't adjust the timescale in the acceleration graphs and the default is way too much zoomed in Overall I would say there are many free apps in this store that do a better job than this one
I just needed a decibel metre app and found this one from Bosch. So just went with the name. I guess it works fine and maybe accuracte too, but i cannot confirm without a reference device. It always switches to landscape mode no matter what, that's really annoying and devs should allow portrait mode view.
Great app! I wonder what if we connect some good quality wireless microphone and identify the home noise level or Nearest Neighborhood Noise (NNN) and run noise cancellation anti-sound-waves (Sound Holes). Many cars do have great interior which are quite - to - less noisy and it feels good to drive than its peer having loose seating and windows arrangements. Other cars are having mounting noise, shock absorber noise, etc. which are distributing for great drivers.
As soon as this app would not let me use it unless I have it access to all my photos, media etc l uninstalled it! Why do you want access to photos etc? Microphone yes, as the sound meter will use that, but pictures. I don't think so! Only reason it got a one star was because I couldn't give zero. 🤬
It is really an amazimg App. My nighbours used to make noise in the middle of the night, so I used this App many many times in order to prove to them that I am telling them only the truth, and I showed them how good this App can test, so they have to calm down and they don't have to lie at me anymore, otherwise, I would cause them problems... LOL. Many Thanks To You BOSCH 🥇🎁🎁🤝
1. This app is made by BOSCH, a well known reliable company. 2. It's free. 3. No ads. 4. It measures sound level with a high level of accuracy. Some people complain that it requires access to photos, I don't know why it's necessary but I hope you enjoy the photos of my cats.
It works, the only small issue is the time lapse is just that it's time lapse, it would be nice if the user could choose between lapsed time and real time.
Great for spot checking noise levels. Would get 5 stars but there is variance between apps as my colleague has the same but is constantly 4 to 5dB less. Still, it is a free app.
Great. Does what it promises to do. Well engineered, easy to use, good manual. No ads. All in all, matches the expectations l had when I saw the BOSCH logo.
Incredibly useful app for sound levels and vibration. I have tried the downloaded version and owing to the usability of the app am considering upgrade options.
I'm blown away at all the functions of the free version. Of course I would expect a very competent app from Bosch, but it would cost several thousand dollars to assemble a lab that could do all these measurements. Thanks so much for producing this.
The app is really amazing. But I am looking for an ultrasound measuring app (not sure the mobile phone's microphone has that hardware capability).
Would be great if the app could do 1/12 Octave. Waterfall spectrum display is solid but Sony Xperia Premium, with Android 9 and 64gb memory is simply under powered. Refresh is awful slow. Not a function of app but the underlying hardware.
Seems to work well with checking levels in the bar, however have no idea if accurate. Seems a little high.
Very good. But it depends of the mic quality of your phone. I've checked my moto G7 with a professional sound lever meter. It was very accurate.
I find it's super sensitivity so wonderful. Really a wonderful App which covert a smartphone into a sound measuring decibel meter and more. thank you Bosch
Compared with a calibrated decibel meter and the results of the app are insanely ACCURATE. Tried with Note 10 Plus and the app measured exactly the same noise level with the decibel meter. On my test while decibel meter shows 53.4, this app mesured 53.4 decibels also. A GREAT ALTERNATIVE for a decibel meter tool.
Good to check noise levels but not tried vibration levels as yet. Noise testing is with reasonable accuracy.
Redmi note 10s . Works well nothing annoying popped up as yet. Vibration default setting too high for my use lower y axis to 20. Good app
Even the free version is working fine. A good app to have to quickly test the decibel level or even vibration
Over all it's very good app... For measuring sound and vibrate and all It's worth....well designed ...more useful for many places... Really good ... handds off for Bosch R&D
An impressive app! I've checked it alongside two other dB meters, and all three give the same reading.
Great app! No need to buy personal device, just use your phone. The latest models of the smartphones will bring you the best measures
Should put more features for layman use. But great experience. Bosch is certainly good name to trust it . Thanks
Having been recommended this app by an audiologist. I feel this app is quite accurate (have not compared with a real spl meter). It is my handy guide whenever infeel I am in a noisy environment and feel like checking the spl level. I like the way it shows each frequency. Had been to a music show where I felt the bass was being boomy and here it is in the meter showing very high amplitude in the lows. Overall quite satisfied with the app. Have not used the vibration function in real time.
