IOL
The new revamped IOL App is a result of feedback from numerous user groups, user experience specialists and analytics gathered from how the current users utilise certain features.
The key focus areas of the new app has been to provide our users with immediate access to IOL's breaking news streams, whilst maintaining the traditional edition based newspaper title's in depth curated editorial packages.
Going digital is seen as a transitional journey for the Independent Media group that has over 20 newspaper brands, where learnings are applied to ensure our users can expect innovation and also quality experiences when utilising our digital offerings.
There is a lot of free news content, coupled with an option to subscribe to more in depth reporting in a traditional editorial sense across regional and national brands such as the Cape Times, Cape Argus, The Star, Daily News, Pretoria News, The Sunday Independent, Sunday Tribune, DFA, POST, Daily Voice, The Mercury, Isolezwe, and many more.

Zero stars, after the upgrade each time change stories the message to complete action using either Google text to speech, or Samsung. i just want to read the stories and browse. Will be uninstalling app
2020/07/23 App has now been stuck on news that are 2 days old. Uninstalled and then installed again, but still the same. 2020/07/31 Cell phones and tablets are still stuck on news dd 21st July. Laptops working fine. 2020/08/13 Still stuck on news dd 21/07/21. This app doesn't deserve even one star!
The app stopped working. News is outdated and support does not reply to mails, nor did they fix it. No relevant news. This app should be removed from the store completely.
Great news app. Up to date, filled with less and unnoticeable ads, i would really recommend it for a daily dose of news update.
app is working but cannot sign in using gmail. Is it not the same as using my email because I use only one email address. When I sign in using my gmail account it is subscribed. But when I sign in with my email account it shows unsubscribed.
It does not work. Has not delivered up-to-date news for five days. I think it is broken, or Independent has run out of money. I have uninstalled it again. Let me know when it works again.
The app needs to be updated with the latest news. No article was posted since Tuesday. Please update asap. Thanks.
New app. Same old problem. Its doesnt update and is showing news from 7 days ago as being the latest!
Doesn't work at all. I guess they discontinued supporting and editing content.
What is going on with this app? 13 Days & no new articles! If you guys have decided to quit updating the app then at least have the decency to keep us informed!!
No consistency on regular updates. Works intermittently Should be shut down

I love your web app! But it just doesn't Work. 5 times out of 10 it crashes when opening an article. Please fix as I really like the audio option.
