iON Camera

I finally got it working after an hour of trying to get it paired to my gs6. I found the problem on mine was the password. I had to go into my Internet browser and type in 192.168.1.2 to open up camera menu. Go to settings to change password to 00000000 and it worked to about an hour. I can connect and see battery life change setting view live but CAN'T view what I recorded. One of the main reasons for the app.

The WIFI will not allow you to configure or connect to your phone via the app unless you turn off your mobile data in my phone (Samsung GS5). Turn off your mobile data to stream controls and view to your phone. The instructions do not tell you that and tech support is useless. They'll just issue you an RMA# to return the camera so they can diagnose. They said it takes 10 days not including shipping time. Turn off your mobile data to link your phone to the camera for streaming functions.

at times I would open the app and connect to the camera to be told I need to upgrade my software firmware. okay but I just downloaded every update your website has. useless for streaming and remote options. super laggy and slow and then freezes. restart the app and reset the camera then repeat the whole process again! camera is great if it works, about once out of every ten tries!

I connect to my camera thru the WiFi then it kicks me off . says sorry app as unfortunately quit. Then I go back to connect all my pics or vids turn into white squares. Terrible app. The firmware update messed up wifo connect for original ion camera

It takes a little time to start up and there's no indicators to let you know your phone or camera are ready to link. I just needed a way to line up a shot for timelapses and to make sure the view isn't blocked when mounted. I don't use the app(or wifi pod) when I actually start filming. You have to jump through a few hoops(watch a youtube tutorial) to get it started, but it works for my needs.

The ION application is horrible. I purchased my camera (Air Pro) about a year ago. I still cannot get it to be recognized on the ION app. So I use it as a paperweight. I am trying to find another app that would work. Don"t spend your money on this system until they upgrade the app with the inputs from end users>

First off, I know what I'm doing. The wifi on the app is very broken. I can connect to the camera on my pc and go to 192.168.1.2 to see things. I can connect on my phone by actually connecting to the camera from the phone and not the app. But you can only sometimes see the battery level and live streaming. No being able to see videos or pictures you took. And forget about connecting via the app. You will get a 'config remote wifi failed, please check' error. Would be awesome to be able to view videos.

Update: Got software to work by turning off "Mobile Data" on my phone. Still cant get everything to work correctly. Last update of this prog was 2014, sad. My phone doesn't connect properly. No wonder, it's a current 2016 phone on outdated software, why should it. I really wanted to like this camera, this makes it tough.

Connecting the ION AND WiFi is extremely tedious and only displays the video/ Picture preview with minimal luck. Nor can I download or view files of any quality in my Air Pro Lite. Fix this for all android devices, I know I'm not alone here... this must be fixed!

Slow slow slow and glitchy glitchy glitchy. Had to try three android phones before I got this app to work (sort of) The camera is fantastic but the app software stinks. It is very hard to set up and you have to disconnect from your home wife to use it. WHY DIDN'T THEY USE BLUE TOOTH.

Not average user-friendly but if u turn off your android phone's wi-fi auto switching (temporarily) while using the app it connects and works for the most part. After watching/reviewing your recorded HD videos it tends to not reaccess the files on the cam unless you close the app and reopen it. This app is due for an update.

Completely incompatible with my Samsung phone, which shuts down upon my attempting to use the Ion app. The app works on my Samsung tablet, but that's only half of my devices, which makes the camera less useful. But beyond the 50% usability of the app is its lack of Bluetooth connectivity. As other reviewers have noted, the camera and app must be connected via wifi, which limits usefulness when you're out of range. The app is also incompatible with my new laptop. The camera is good, the interface is nothing but trouble.

If you are not tech savvy, you are going to struggle with this app. It has taken me 2 days to get it up and running sort of ok. Keeps telling me to update firmware on camera. Update says that camera is up to date. I even installed it on my ipad to see if it was my Note 4 misbehaving, but it wasnt. Not intuitive in the least. Definitely needs more of an instructional approach. It works, dont get me wrong,but it requires you to slap it around a little to make it see things your way.

I just purchased an ion Air Pro Lite WiFi and everything seems to work fine with the app. Maybe the people trying to use it are messing something up? The app has you connect to your wifi network, then connect to to the camera dongle. In order to connect to the camera you must select it a your phone's wifi network first! That's the most important step! -1 star because I haven't tested it fully, will update in a week or two.

This app does not connect to my camera, which is effectively a $50 brick since I can't do anything with it. The UI is unclear and extremely unhelpful. The provided "Quick Start Guide" that came with the camera offers no advice. The company website is just as uninformative. I made a huge mistake buying this camera.

They need to work out some of these issues. I should have gone with a Go cam. I probably will this was a gift and I hate it so far and its all due to this app. The one thing I wanted it for is the one thing it doesn't do right, which is the live streaming. It freezes up and lags like hell. Step your game up ion very disappointed.

Overall, the iON Camera app has great potential. When installed and set up properly users at all skill levels will enjoy the potential of the app and the camera. The app needs to focus more on the efficiency of the connection and syncing process. The app maker, iON, or both need to provide more detailed how-to instructions for android mobile devices. Choose an ION air pro 3 this time around as alternative to gopro -need live streaming however app is hopeless after firmware upgrade the app is still not working properly. 1. Camera only connects some times usually takes 10 min+ to actually get it going 2. Portrait only unless forced through 3rd party app as landscape - no record button in landscape. 3. App crashes on screen flip or screen lock. Requiring camera restart and starting from scratch. Verdict if live stream is important this is not 4 u

Installed and connected to my Ion air pro lite with ease. Hint: I connected directly through my LgG3 first, then installed the app and connected through it, no problems. Gave 4/5 because streaming is choppy and app closed unexpectedly twice. But I only needed it to check the view angle, and it achieved that. So I'm happy.

App & ion air pro 3 both started off fine... for about a week. Now both are nothing but problems! AirPro3 has to be shut down by the hard reset button. App will not connect properly. App will not remote record on my Samsung S5. There is no sound playback on my old videos. Will not record new ones. Will not take pictures. Tried re installing app. Hard reset on AP3... Nothing!!! Not happy at all!

Camera is awesome but the app needs work. Video playback can only play, no fast forward or rewind without the file crashing. Needs work to allowing file transfer from camera to device via WiFi pod. Only useful for view finding in my opinion.
