Rating them 5 stars as they had a quick response and able to fix my issues with the app. I am enjoying being able to find places near me and also able to map out where I like to go next depending on what is around.
Best app/crowdsource of its kind! Usually a 5 star app, but I can't use it on my Samsung j3 prime anymore since the previous update on April 8th. I travel fulltime so this app is a godsend. Please update so all users with old and new phones can use it too!
Has a catalog of sites that is impressive, but the app is very basic. I don't seem to be able to see any of the sites that I've previously favorited on the webaite, also not able to favourite any new sites from the app. If this is open source I'd love to contribute a PR :)
Hate to say it but it used to be my fav. Now it crashes. Phones new and updated.
I love this app! It's our go-to to find places to camp and boondock and occasionally stealth camp. We live and travel full time in our rv and this app helps find places to stay, as well as water, dump stations, propane fill, recycling bins, so many things you need when you live on the road. It's my quick tool to locate a potential spot because it's basic and simple and to the point. No ads and no fees, I don't know how the developers pay for this. Great app. Thanks.
Awesome app. We have used it most nights when overlanding. Some suggestions: the ability to pin-point a position on the map after the fact. Don't need to be offline to implement it. It becomes quite annoying trying to find coordinates to input a spot when you're not currently there. Also, could use a seperate marker that identifies camping spots for those without a vehicle (Ie. Bike riders input a spot only suitable for a tent - a tent with blue icon could differentiate it).
I found this app out through a YouTuber and man is it great! I love the fact that there's different things on the maps that other campsite locators don't have (showers, laundromats, auto shops, etc.) Its a little slow when zooming out but that's to be expected when its gotta load everything in the area. Can't wait to use it this summer when I road trip!!
So sad. It was such an amazing app that I recommended to dozens of people! Now no longer works, it opens but can't click a list or open the map. Only thing you can do is click on settings or check in history... EDIT FIXED - go to your apps and notifications. Click on permissions, and grant the permissions. The app will work again. Close your app, and reopen with permissions granted! Found fix in earlier comment
Tons of useful info and it's free! Hopefully it stays that way 👍
Not many spots have updates or are accurate? Is it just the android version?
App wouldn't let me get off the main menu and then it crashed.
I do need just six words to discripe it: love it, love it, love it!
I love the user information in this app. The app works well offline.
Used this app around Ontario everyday for 6 weeks. Most days we had to try 2 or 3 possible sites before we found one worth staying at (if we found one at all). Lots of incorrect info in the comments of most places. So many sites had very clear "no overnight parking" signs even though the app comment said otherwise. Lots of worthless places marked in the app as campsites. It also takes up to 2 weeks for new comments to appear in the app. I'd recommend the Wikicamps apps over this one.
Digital Nomads, Outdoor Enthusiasts, Dispersed & Site Camping: Find tonight's campsite on IOverlander. This Decentralized Explorers map connects the knowledge of outdoor explorers through Journal entries of recent travelers. BLM Sites, State parks, Hikes, resources, and secrets are all saved offline. Offline maps enabled by default. Site verification works in some areas: IOverlander can often detect the ownership status of the land: BLM/Federal/State/Unknown/Private.
